VP Osinbajo Sir, In a normal country, Calabar-Lagos rail line should have passed through the large living and business centres of Calabar-Uyo-Aba-Owerri-Orlu-Nnewi-Onitsha-Asaba-Agbor-Benin-Ore-Shagamu-Lagos. A spur frrom PH-Warri-Benin shall follow. That is economic sanity. Instead, Janjaweeeds continue to scheme for a rail line and East-West road to exploit oil revenues from Calaba-Portharcourt-Warri-Benin-Lagos, then upward to northern Nigeria. It is the same way, Janjaweeeeds built underground oil pipelines from the Nigerdelta to Kaduna - a wasted exercise. |
Imo the only state where the governor tells the public that he is burying about 70% of the state's income on beautifying the state's capital, Owerri. And the people seem to accept that, while the rest of the state decays. |
Opinionated:You showed your readers two sides of Owerri. - and that is it for you for Imo state. But Owerri is only a tiny part of Imo state. People like you misled amateur politician Rochas Okorocha to waste eight years of Imo state building Armageddon for a City in Owerri. Even roads to navigate from point A to B in towns outside the state capital hardly exist again. |
Imo is only State in Nigeria where the entire state outside the state capital decays, but the incumbent governor buries the state's and local government federal allocations in the state capital, building things that fancy the governor, including building iron rooftops over the roads in the state capital. |
Abagworo:27 new general hospitals were Okorocha's formula to destroy the Imo state University Teaching Hospital (IMSUTH) Orlu. Six years after, he has destroyed IMSUTH, now barely functions as a School of Nursing. No general hospital in most of Imo state. Early act of Okorocha as governor was set up a committee to examine why and how a sports stadium was built in Orlu by Udenwa govt. The committee hardly finished sitting when Okorocha govt dismantled the stadium. Campaign period approaches now, the stadium is being re roofed. Every govt thing in Orlu is in ruins -courtesy of Rochas Okorocha. |
Rochas Okorocha, a governor who placed hate for Orlu first on his office table, and is ready to give up politics because of hate. Even a year ago, Okorocha's Deputy from Owerri was apparently disturbed during an interview with Vanguard, why the governor was burying more than 75% of the state's income in Owerri. Okorocha is fast closing the chances of his party in the state with his most hate-field and parochial governance system. In 2015, he was allowed a second chance because people wanted him to complete the projects he started. But most of the projects, especially roads, remain abandoned outside the state capital. |
OMANBALA1:A state governor Okorocha, opened his mouth and said 70% of allocations to Imo is buried in Owerri to beautify the city. This is impeachable offence, but Okorocha handpicked most of the Imo State legislators last election. Even at that, some people don't see that the gods are after the governor. Abnormal. Truth is: because of Okorocha's hatred for the name Orlu, he decided to bury Imo state's and its local government allocations in Owerri; instead of providing for the 27 lgas of the state for which he is constitutionally bound, and for which he was elected. |
iamadonis2:Rephrase: "Those who the gods want to kill, they first make them mad." When Rochas Okorocha's problems reached the extent of destroying a university teaching hospital in Orlu where governments and private organizations put more than N15 billion in the last 16 years.... because Okorocha wants to own a private Eastern Palm university built while Okorocha was a sitting governor of a state...... the gods are involved in Okorocha's problems. |
IhateAfonjas:Abarie mmong buru onu. How you come vex reach like that for that ogidigborigbo? Looooool |
Why Yoruba fear most over possible break-up of Nigeria? Who can answer the question above? Arewa had since prepared its Sharia country when twelve northern Nigeria states started to ROMANCE with SHARIA CRIMINAL CODES beginning 1999. |
jarkbauer:Oh yes, but with agreement that after Igbo-Biafra leaves Nigeria, and Islamic Jihaddts from Northern and SW Nigeria start operation in the SS immediately after Biafra exit, Biafra must not accept asylum seekers from non-Igbo of SS from Nigeria |
Yes, give Igbos Biafra. Igbo-Biafra. If Nigeria wants to retain non-Igbo speaking areas of the SS because of crude oil, and the non-Igbo speaking areas of the SS agree, for Jees sake, let Nigeria retain the non-Igbo SS. |
Jaideyone:No sane person places a whole region in one basket of accusation. Obigbo, another Joe Igbokwe appointed by Janjaweedds to do a dirty job against Igbo. From Obigbo's "our SE people don't repay...", one can see a mischief maker. He put all SE in one basket, as if all SE people were not repaying. .Ignore the Obigbo APC mouthpiece getting crumbs from the Janjaweedds. |
Davash222:No. Because this is a failed and God-forsaken country. That's why the Buhari-sick phenomenon can go on unchallenged. |
Oduduwa? Oduduwa has always been abandoned since the recent past. Also, don't talk to anyone from the SW about Oduduwa Republic once romanced by Awo. Crude oil in the Niger delta has consumed Oduduwa country. |
Your blind spot remains the Imo State University Teaching Hospital, Orlu, which Okorocha is ruining deliberately, because of his personal greed to own a private Eastern Palm University, Ogboko, in Ideato South. M.......A.......D. Mutually Assured Destruction. Destroy IMSUTH, HAVE YOUR EASTERN PALM UNIVERSITY DEMOBILIZED. That's the promise to Okorocha by those who invested billions of Naira in IMSUTH to make Imo State have a tertiary health institution and training centre It shall pay Okorocha better to let normalcy return to IMSUTH in Orlu now. It's unimaginable how he thought he could fool millions of people. |
adadike281:M..............A..............D Mutually Assured Destruction. [Rochas Okorocha, you deliberately destroyed Imo State University Teaching Hospital, Orlu; don't expect your Eastern palm University in your village to function]. That's what people who established Imo State University Teaching Hospital, Orlu, have promised Rochas Okorocha. For five years, Okorocha deliberately scrapped and refused to repair the road to IMSUTH, denied accreditation support to IMSUTH courses, owed health workers months of arrears of salaries, denied fuel to IMSUTH generators, workers deserted IMSUTH. Last October, Okorocha set up a kangaroo committee headed by his puppet Imo State House of Assembly Speaker, Acho Ihim, to relocate IMSUTH to Owerri; a trick to silence Owerri critics so as not to ask questions when Okorocha shall announce that Rochas Foundation has bought the remaining public shares in Eastern Palm University, Ogboko in Ideato south lga. Okorocha told National Universities Commission last year that Eastern Palm University "is my 12 years dream come true." |
mmb:...but you didn't know how much damage Boko Haram and herdsmen have done to Nigeria. When shall both groups stop? Not feasible in the nearest future, because religion is opium to those who inhaled it. Imagine how much in billions of dollars in capital flight from Nigeria since the last eight years of Boko Haram and herdsmen. Boko Haram and herdsmen, among other factors, justify the secessionist moves in Nigeria. |
Ha ha ha ha. I laugh in Latin after reading comments here. They were about 98% from Odua-Afonja people revelling. Biafra people abstained almost. Good. Afonja keep on revelling and clutching tightly to a sinking ship, because the ship has crude oil on board. But you MUST not deter other passengers on board struggling to escape the sinking ship. Let whoever truly believes that Nigeria is working for the people in the country say so. Make I waka pass. |
Uncommonbreed:..and you pretend that you don't understand that religion is killing Nigeria? .... you don't know that religion has been impoverishing Nigeria since your Boko Haram? how much in capital flight has Nigeria lost since your Boko began? |
GavelSlam:... and your business with that is ![]() Take your childish blackmail to the birds of the air. Nigeria is not working, has never worked. You can clutch tightly on a sinking boat because it contains crude oil, for as long as you want, but let others who want to escape the boat do so. |
Chai. and this is News for |
one can imagine a type of PIB that could be passed under Muhammadu Buhari presidency. Scammers!!!! |
DjHypno:Consolations. It is sign of a shrinking Nigeria. Even smaller countries open up more embassies - not closing. Boko has caused huge capital flight/loss from/for Nigeria in the last 8 years of Boko operation. Those who run Nigeria will not tell you the truth about how Nigeria is getting poorer, despite oil revenues. |
dotcomnamename:Kwontinue to deceive yourself. You don't understand that the most rich countries of the world have no crude oil. |
krasican:The most important thing about one's country is that one is proud of it, feels safe in it. It is not important how big or populated or rich one's country is. How many of those still clutching to one Nigeria because of crude oil are proud and happy about Nigeria, feel secured in Nigeria? |
Edu3Again:Those still clutching tightly to a sinking ship, failed Lugard country, Nigeria, because the ship contains crude oil, pity for you. Biafrans see farther than you who cannot look beyond the nose. Crude oil is not all there is for a country to survive The most rich countries of the world have no crude oil. |
maxiuc:They owe six months salary arrears to health workers in their state's university teaching hospital in Orlu, refused to repair the roads to the hospital. Workers ran away, the place now functions as a School of Nursing. |
Gov. Okorocha decorates top of the roads he builds in Owerri with metal-decor ornaments. Many roads his govt excavated in Okigwe and Orlu since 2012 remain abandoned. If this were to be a military govt, Okorocha should have been called to Abuja for questioning. |
