Booooooe to a state governor who believes that Imo state capital must be placed on a different civilization, far advanced from the rest of Imo state. But the governor vacations in Europe and America and sees that all cities and villages are on the same civilization with the capital city.

More Boooes to the governors' publicists who are expected to know better than the governor that a state capital is merely the seat of government, not a place where rest of the state pays taxes to develop; not a place where a state governor should use the federal allocations of the 27 lgas to build the governor's fancied projects, while rest of the stare languishes in underdevelopment, belong to a different civilization.

My friend, Orlu is the second most populated and largest city in Imo state (if not larger than Owerri); therefore deserves near equal attention which Gov. Okorocha is lavishing on Owerri. In 1976, there was hardly any difference in levels of urbanization between Orlu and Owerri.

But due to Okorocha's well-known attitude to Orlu, we have only been asking him to complete the roads he scratched and left since five years in Orlu - nothing else.

A politician who is free in mind would complete these long abandoned roads in Orlu before going for 8-lane rods, flyovers, tunnels and 5 Inland roads in Owerri.

The dual roads in Orlu you talk about are about 3km total and all channeled to lead to Ideato road. Step out from these dual roads into other roads in Orlu, you shall spit Tufiakwa on present IMSG.

The least-educated group - Northern Nigeria - largely decides who rules Nigeria and what shall be in Nigeria. That is why Nigeria is a flop

Through the 20 states unduly proliferated by northern soldiers in the one region northern Nigeria, the region draws undue political over-representation to all spheres of Nigeria's political process. This way the north largely decides what can be in Nigeria.

A presidential candidate must win 25% of votes in 24 states, this way even a goat from northern Nigeria must win the most qualified presidential material from the the two southern regions.

Truth is that in a federal country made up by diverse groups, land mass is never used as criterion to create new states or provinces or regions from existing federal units.

There should have been more states in the two southern regions than in the one northern region.

YonkijiSappo:
The Nigerian Bureau of Statistics recently released a comprehensive list of JAMB applications by Geopolitical regions / States of origin, covering a period of 7 years from (2010-2016).
What the statistics showed has been quite revealing. Figures compiled from the NBS Showed that the South West region led in the total number of Applications with 2,646,731 representing some 22.85% of all applications from the country. The South East region followed with 2,593,265 applications or 22.32% followed in turn by the South South Zone with 2,407,902 applications or 20.73%.

In the Northern region of the country, the North Central region led and was more similar to the south than to the North in terms of figures, with 2,005,319 Applications or 17.22%. The North West managed 1,210,545 or 10.41% over the six year period under review, while the North East region had the least applications with 726,000 representing some 6.23% of applications in the country.

Further analysis revealed that the South-West region led in Four of the Seven years: 2010 (24.88%), 2011 (23.33%), 2015 (22.80%), and 2016 (22.80%) - While the South East led in Three: 2012 (23.07%), 2013 (22.37%) and 2014 (22.38%).
Figures also show that the North-West and North-East have been steadily improving on their total number of candidate applications and percentage share of total national figures from 2010 where they accounted for 8.48% and 4.54% respectively to 2016 where they accounted for 12.52% and 7.65%.

Regional scrutinization of the figures shows that Oyo state led the pack in the South-West, closely followed by Osun and Ogun. Imo state led in the Southeast by a large margin, followed by Anambra and Enugu.
In the North-central, Kogi state led followed closely by Benue and Kwara. In the North-West, Kaduna led, followed by Kano and Katsina trailing in a distant third position, while in the Northeast, Taraba state led, followed by Adamawa and then Gombe.

Nationally, the top 15 states were: Imo, Delta, Oyo, Osun, Anambra, Edo, Ogun, Enugu, Kogi, Ondo, Akwa Ibom, Benue, Kwara, Kaduna and Abia- in that order.
Surprisingly, very populated states like Rivers, Kano and Lagos did not rank in the top 15, with Kano the most populated state in the country ranking at 17th- only one place above Ekiti the 30th most populated state in the country but which was seated far (12 places) higher than its population position rank would suggest, at 18th position.

Median, Imo state presents average of 130,000 students seeking university education a year.

But federal Character has allowed only one federal university to Imo state, FUT Owerri (FUTO).

Let's say FUTO takes in 10,000 students; Imo State University, Owerri (IMSU) takes in 5,000 a year, then other universities take another 30,000 a year. Where do the other 85,000 Imo state people seeking university education end up?

In true countries, governments provide education infrastructures more in areas they are needed than others. But in Nigeria no.

Notwithstanding that late Sani Abacha ate two southeast states, instead created the two southeast states in the NW, NE and NC areas, and left the southeast with only five states.

Land mass is no criterion to create new states or provinces or regions from the existing states or provinces or regions in a country where distinct groups formed one federal country.
There should have been more states in the two southern regions than in the one northern region after Abacha created the last set of the presnet 36 states.

Nigeria as presently structured by northern soldiers is a HUGE FRAUD.

Owerri people tend to mistake Ideato for Orlu.
At times you don't blame them, too many Ideato people live in Orlu.

Under Okorocha's govt, no federal establishment has come to Orlu.

Even state establishment - Rochas built a two block school of Hygiene in Orlu, but planned at the same time to remove the only state govt establishment in Orlu - Imo State University Teaching Hospital - to Owerri.

Former govts and private organizations had invested up to N15 billion on IMSUTH established in Orlu Urban Lga by Law, and commissioned by former president Obasanjo; it grew to this point where only a most malicious governor would go to damage all, deny Imo state a teaching hospital by relocation.

What loan?

Former President Jonathan who built Nigeria's first-ever Standard Gauge Rail System from Kaduna to Abuja costing $1.059 billion made no fuss about the project.

The Southsouth and Southeast regions are supposed to have Nigeria's first-ever Standard Gauge rail system if Nigeria is truly a country.

But in FEC Meetings where decisions for projects are taken, the north outnumbers the southeast and southwest and southsouth put together, because of the political over-representation which north draws from the 20 states proliferated in northern Nigeria by northern soldiers.

Land mass was wrongly used as criterion by northern soldiers to create the 36 states, but in a federal country where distinct groups joined to form a federation, land mass is never used as criterion to create new states or provinces from the existing states or provinces.
