A BBC female reporter asked then Zamfara state governor, Sani Yerima in 2002, if he didn't believe that the Sharia Criminal Codes which Yerima introduced would lead to break-up of Nigeria in future.


Yerima answered no, but honestly added that the difference between the north and south of Nigeria is value systems.
So what National Values are being bandied about here by the Education department, if not a move to introduce something sinister under Buhari administration?

After being exposed about the free fruits donated by Saudi Arabia to Nigerian refugees which were being sold in markets, officials have quickly started sharing the remnant of the dates fruits to few IDPs and have also started taking pictures to post them on social media. These photos are from Kano.

It was earlier reported that about 200 tonnes of free date fruits donated by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Nigerian refugees were being sold in Nigerian markets. The fruits, given to Nigerians who were on pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia and also obtained from the Saudi Arabia Embassy in Nigeria, has been marked either “Free” or “Not for sale”.

However, the authorities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Nigeria found the fruit on sale in Nigeria to their amazement.

The Nigerian government has since apologized to the Saudi authorities and has commenced investigation into the matter.

A video footage which has gone viral online shows how a married man was stripped unclad and totally disgraced after he was caught in a hotel with his neighbour's wife in Delta state. The husband of the woman in question and his 'goons' stormed the hotel room to catch the man 'in the act'. They resorted to humiliating the man as they forced him to remove his clothes and pose for the camera.

The married man revealed that it was the woman (his neigbour's wife) who invited him to the hotel as he begged for mercy. The pleas fell on deaf ears - with his 'captors' beating him and also forcing him to call his sister to tell her what happened.

Some online users have been left enraged by this as the woman who was nabbed with the married man was nowhere to be found in the video. Only the man was disgraced despite two people being involved in the act...

I've visited Orlu and was impressed. The only road that was neglected was the old Owerri road. Aside that road, all the roads in Orlu urban look good and solid with streetlights. I will still visit again anytime I come around to tour Eastern Palm University. I've also visited Okigwe and I must tell you that only Okigwe town people have the right to call out Okorocha not Orlu that he has developed single handedly.

Do you know well Orlu urban?

From TESAC/Imo Poly Campus side to Orlu Local govt hqrts, there are not less than 15 urban roads built by previous govts but yearning for re-asphalting or new asphalt , including the roads scrapped by Okorocha govt,

From IMSUTH side to International Market side to Orlu local govt headquarters, there are not less than 20 urban roads yearning for re-asphalting or new asphalt;

About 17 urban roads in Amaifeke and Ihioma side done by former IMSG and mostly by NDDC are slowly wearing away - no maintenance under this govt.

Etc etc.

You must have known only Orlu of Ihioma/Amaigbo road, Owus Avenue and Bank road that Okorocha govt expanded in 2012; but since then, Okorocha govt has not built or repaid any urban road in Orlu.

You start from somewhere and your successor continues with your good programs. I can and will always attest to the fact that Okorocha is the best ever. Only an inborn hatred will make anyone see and yet deny. He built the best University in the East(Eastern Palm University) and about 5 more campuses of other higher institutions. That's better than any roads, tunnels or flyovers which he is also one of the best in that part. 27 standard general hospitals is equally unbelievable but true. More than 400 schools including rebuilding all the premier public schools in Owerri from scratch. The biggest of them all is free education from primary to University. I am yet to see any State that has free University including the super rich States.

If you want to see hatred demonstrated as statecraft by a man, visit the tens of urban roads in Orlu scrapped and abandoned by Okorocha government since 2012 -
inhabitants swallow dust during dry season and move through mud during the rainy season;

If you want to see hatred and discontinuity of governance, visit the urban roads in Orlu built by previous governments with billions of Naira, but watched by Okorocha's govt as the roads dilapidated without maintenance in the last six years.

A state governor who builds ten lane streets and many inland roads in his tiny state capital but forgot that the 98% of his state also require roads.

A couple who tied the knot today couldn't contain their joy especially the bride after she encountered the executive governor of Imo state, Rochas Okorocha. You are blessed my Governor, my Governor, God this can only be You at work!!! Those were the words that spilled out from the mouth of this overjoyed bride and her husband who were on their way to the church service to be joined in holy matrimony.

The governor was reportedly on the road doing his usual inspection and tour of the state earlier this morning. Their joy knew no bounds as she went on the floor in gratitude to God for such an honor.

There are many new areas of Owerri outside the centre where new houses have sprung up in the last four years but there are no roads to the houses.

Why not government modernize and asphalt the roads,
given the governor's obsession for expansion of Owerri to a Mega City, where most of Imo state must migrate to?

Father Emmanuel Chibuzor Obimma popularly known as Ebube Muonso has lauded the Igbo people of Nigeria for their industrious and resourceful nature.

The cleric who was speaking on a crusade ground in one of the states in the South East noted that despite the economic hardship the Igbos were subjugated to immediately after the war, they soared through and today became more greater than they were.

Ebube Muonso berated President Muhammadu Buhari whom he described as an empty brain and his kinsmen saying that one Igbo man is equivalent to five hundred Hausa men.

The cleric said this when he told his congregants that the greatest mistake Buhari made was to arrest the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu whom according to him intentionally set a trap for the President.
