Nigeria electricity access puzzle.

Yemi Kale - Household survey in 2015/16 estimates that around 19 million households have some access to electricity

NERC - “Nigeria had 9.5 million electricity customers in 2016 (NERC projection). The number of customers per disco varies widely, from 345,000 (Yola) to 1,750,000 (Ibadan). In 2018 the number was down to 8.3M - with less than 4M metered.

Cognitive difficulties serve as a shield top reality-which is a good thing otherwise people here would just cry in shock, sorrow and pain! This defence mechanism is a good thing.

The AR platform is nearly 60 years old and has come of age with application of new technologies including composites and metallurgy.

The latest examples aren't for policing or 'the Sand,' ie Iraq and the 'Stans but sport bench rest, heavy and dangerous game. These are 2 of the best:

Falkor by Petra who used to be in aerospace and used those technologies to make a 7000$ .300 mag sub moa rifle they call "the Lamborghini of the AR world."

Your fight against corruption can be summarized as Buhari. Kenya started fighting corruption in 1990s. When you were still under Sani Abacha - we had formed the first Anti-Corruption Commission(KAAC) - and we have seen it all - for 30yrs - and now we know very well the only way to sustainably fight corruption is through institutions. And it's not easy fight. But ours is a sustainable fight.

We formed that KAAC in 97 - was declared unconstitutional later - then formed another one and now have EACC that anchored in the constitution.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenya_Anti-Corruption_Authority

It's very hard to fight corruption when you're a democratic nation like kenya where thieves enjoy all sort of rights from corrupt justice systems...but we are slowly and surely going to slay it by focussing on institutions.

True-wtf else has anticipatory bail? You know you'll be arrested and thanks to 1500$ per hour lawyers get a get out of jail card in advance!

And you think all these other African commissions of election are very competent. Elections were annulled because of our judiciary now have cojones. An erection without cojones is pretty useless. We have very mature institutions now.

The fight against graft is ongoing. And our fight is more sustainable because it's not driven by Buhari (personality) but institutions. Strong institutions are what eventually defeat corruption. Anything else is not sustainable.

And I don't think we are more corrupt than Nigeria. These are 'perception" studies. Kenya are just more perceptive of the problem of graft. You cannot be that corrupt and thrive. In any case we are working on our corruption problem...and I expect to see change of perception.

Hopefully it explains the strategic demands of the Lamu to Douala Port ,the TransAfrica road/rail/pipeline land bridge whose construction is ongoing. With at least 3 k AS fighters just a few kms from Lamu that gov had to protect the route-Op Linda Nchi was born.
Forget Western media BS like this:
adding to the confusion about the motives and interests involved in the invasion, cables made public by WikiLeaks show that the US warned Kenyan authorities against launching an offensive into southern Somalia. ‘Taken as a whole, they (i.e. the cables) seem to lend credence to Washington's claim that it has neither encouraged nor supported the invasion’. Instead, the cables show that Kenyan officials were very eager to start an invasion into Somalia and establish a buffer zone in the area known as Jubaland (Boswell 2011 Boswell, Alan. 2011. Sudanese Nubians (blackest folks in black Africa) were the Pharaohs of the 25 th Dynasty of Egypt after invading and conquering from their southern Kush Empire. This explains a lot why people want Kush tied to their his-story. What I have never understood is why Somalis fight to death to claim Kush as their empire when it is so obvious it was a Nubian empire. This was Kush in 700 BC

Because in their minds Kush obviously applies ONLY TO THEM! Explaining to them it referred to also the Bantus of the empire is beyond their mental capacity.

Luo are 50% bantu or even higher as it had actually been stated there are several groups the Luo have mixed with suba, Baganda, teso and most importantly luhya. Even the kalenjin are heavily mixed with bantu kisii and luhya that's where they learned farming they were pastrolists like the maa peoples until they intermarried with this groups. There is actually a kalenjin tribe in s.sudan and they are taller and darker than the Kenyan kalenjin and the they are purely pastrolists, same with luos. Actually in kenya and East Africa in general it is very hard to find a pure people many are mongrels with heavy mixtures of each other.
Fyi I'm Kikuyu and i did a DNA test by 23 and me
My results were
26% Somali

Please do not post misleading information there is no Ethiopian Jewish DNA In kikuyus what you have is Cushitic DNA from people who lived in the area occupied by kikuyus. The people who lived here were called dorobo or ndorobo which is a term used by maa peoples as a name for someone with no cattle. The ndorobo are an admixture of multiple groups and tribes. You will get nilote ndorobo and cushite ndorobo even pygmys were present in the greater mount Kenya region including coastal areas. The Kikuyu easily conquered this tribe by intermarriage and also by war they would kill off the men and take their women and children. Actually all bantu tribes in this area did this successfully until the maa were affected and reacted all tribes in this region feared the maa until the Kikuyu subdued them just before the arrival of the white man circa 1850-1870. This battle took place nearly everywhere where kikuyus have settled especially areas with maa names like nyeri, nyahururu and naivasha. Another major battle that took place was also in kiambu which literally translates to a place of screams.

There was a a migration from N Ethio, specifically Axum in the 1200s when a war broke out between Q Yudits' Jewish forces who invaded the Christian Zagwe forces. The story goes the survivors migrated here with the scrolls (managi)which were hidden on Mt. Kenya. Also there is a path on the north face of the mountain called the Abyssianian way, njera ya Baci.
I gave evidence of S Ethio Omotic, the related Hamer and Arbore I posted not Oromo or Kushite DNA.

Some of the things he said I can vouch for , especially the part where China tested a proxy nuclear bomb for Pak.... during their last nuclear tests series in 1990 just before signing CTBT which banned any further nuclear tests by P5 countries.

Long time ago I mentioned it here and then deleted it later.

Some of the info is outdated , things have moved on much ahead.

Interestingly as a fail safe measure incase of a 2 front all out nuclear war we have now is something named as de/ad m/an's h/and .

U can call it a version of scorched earth policy with non conversational systems at a continental scale.

humans came out of Africa which is more or less established beyond fact .

First hominins left Africa some 1.7 million years ago

By that logic Africans r everywhere grin grin grin

Anyways later on the various civilizations eg Chinese Indian Sumerian mesopotamian Egyptian African civilizations developed independently with very limited interactions among them. The interactions were mostly due to trade.

A broken storage jar with inscriptions in Tamil brahmi script ie written in a combination of Tamil and brahmi script was excavated at quseir al qadim a ancient port with Roman settlement on the red sea coast of
Egypt few years back, dating back to first century BC.

Many such archeological artifacts have been found.

Megasthenes 350-290 BC the Greek explorer in his book indika on his travels in India mentions the traders using sea route to Africa.

Glass beads dating back to first century millinium CE have been found at African sites and have been traced back to India/srilanka . Glass industry in India existed as early as 5 century BC.

That linguistic evidence u r speaking of can equally counter u r claim in that the indian traders were in contact with the said Cameroonian tribe and passed on the language to them.

How about this possibility ? grin

And u r not a archeologist or a linguistic or r u ? grin
Neither am I grin

So how can u claim something without giving evidence vetted by accredited archeologists or linguistics ?

Either way I have no problems as long as there r concrete evidence by concerned authorities to support the same.

History is a quagmire , if something is proven today , tomorrow it will be discarded in the light of new proofs.
So in a way we r all waiting for the truth.

U r wrong in so many counts that there is no point in a rebuttal

Errrr,no,actually. Its common to assume the first humanoids were all Africans but as recently as the Neolithic 10000 bc to 2500 bc Africans migrated WORLDWIDE via river systems and overland. In this regard BB Lal,himself, former DG of your Archaeological Survey of India provided all the receipts on the ID of the earliest Indians.

Braj Basi Lal (born 2 May 1921[1]), better known as B. B. Lal, is an Indian archaeologist. He was the Director General of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) from 1968 to 1972 and has served as Director of the Indian Institute of Advanced Studies, Shimla. Lal also served on various UNESCO committees.[2]

He received the Padma Bhushan Award by the Government of India in 2000.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B._B._Lal

Generally, apart from dna, craniomterics, dental forensics or bone studies cultural toolkits like pottery are critical in identifying ancient people.

Dravidian pottery from South India has many Harappan signs, (fig 7).

B.B. Lal (1963) proved conclusively that the Dravidian was genetically related to the C-Group of Nubia, given the facts that both groups used:

1. A common BRW
2. A common burial complex in cooperating megaliths and circular rock enclosures.
3. A common type of rock cut sepulcher.

http://realhistoryww.com/world_history/ancient/Images_Indus/Dravidian/Dravidian_language.htm

Its very very interesting reading,btw!

It is clear that a common system of record keeping was used by people in 4th and 3rd millennium B.C. from Saharan Africa to Iran, China and the Indus Valley. The best examples of the common writing were the Linear A script, Proto-Elamite, Uruk script Indus Valley writing, and then Libyco-Berber writing. Although the Elamites and Sumerians abandoned this writing in favor of the cuneiform script, the Dravidians, Minoans, Mande and Olmecs continue to use the Proto-Saharan script.(fig cool

Many laymen, unfortunately even educated Africans assume there was no indig African script-nothing could be further from the truth. There are clear affinities with Harappan,Brahmi and Mande writing.

There's also linguistic evidence:
Miss Lilian Homburger, in Jules Bloch’s book The Grammatical Structure of Dravidian Languages, had recognized a number of morphemes which are to be met with in several Saharan idioms. Since then the idea of kinship between the Dravidian languages and certain Negro_African languages had become dear to her heart. And so she began to study in succession the Senegalese-Guinean languages, Mende Bantou and ancient Egyptian, comparing them with the Dravidian languages. This is what led her to publish the following articles in turn: Dravidian elements in Pheul. ( Journal de la Societe’ des Africanistes, Paris, 1950), The Telegu and Mende dialects (ibid, 1951) , The Canara- Bantou, A few elements common to the Egyptian and the Dravidian languages and Sibilants in Indo-African.
http://arutkural.tripod.com/tolcampus/drav-african.htm

The point worth noting is that Miss Homburger was convinced of two things:

(1) She was sure that ‘ the Dravidian languages make it possible to explain the morphology of the Senegalese group, particularly Serer-Pheul.

(2) She was also convinced that there is a kinship between Kannada and the Bantu languages.

I already knew all this but this site has info I had no idea about!

The common features noticed in the areas of religious and social customs find their parallel in art and architecture also. As early as 1918, James Hornett noticed similarities existing between the South Indian boat designs and the Ancient boat designs of the Nile and Mesopotamia. He observed that before splitting off from the original stock the Dravidians living around Mesopotamia borrowed or invented the circular coracle and the reed raft. Coomarasamy has noticed that the ancient ritual and decorative designs of the Aegeans and the Dravidians are very much alike. In the technique dying, jewellery and in the making of metal weapons the West African Peuls and the Dravidians show remarkable resemblances. The Gonds of Central India, a Dravidian tribe, even now erect the houses similar to those erected by the Gallas of Somaliland.
Wow! I'm reading it now.

Let get latest cement consumption n production and end the debate

Mwenzangu,I've just seen somethings missing. We've established beyond doubt the Dangoteland GDP nominal, which is very easy to calculate. There are 2 broadly accurate figures of 1300-1400,or as their own Housing minister said, some 1130$ to our 1800$. What about GPD PPP per capita which some say is the more accurate measure ?
Everyone else Purchasing Power Parity attempts to account for local conditions.

A rule of thumb for understanding GDP’s PPP and nominal is that PPP is how much of a local good (like real estate, labor, or locally grown produce) a person can buy in their country, and nominal is roughly how much of an internationally traded good (diamonds, DVD players, Snickers bars) a person can buy in their country.

Thus, developing countries tend to have a higher (better) PPP than nominal, while developed countries have higher nominal than PPP. You can get dinner for $10 or a DVD player for $100 in the US, or you can get dinner for $2 or a DVD player for $100 in China. If you compare a Chinese person making $20 a day to an American making $150 a day, the Chinese person is slightly poorer in dinners than the American (1/10 of income versus 1/15), but is a lot poorer in DVD players than the American (5x income versus 2/3 of income). See how that works?
https://applebutterdreams./the-difference-between-gdp-nominal-and-gdp-ppp/

On paper ours is 3500$ while Dangoteland's is I strongly suspect as hilariously inflated as everything else at 5900$.

I think you Kenyans should stop talking economics and stick to posting pictures. Why is Nigeria's balance of payment positive while Kenya's balance of payment is negative? The more I dig about Kenya the scarier it gets. If a small country like Kenya could have such negative balance of payment then Africa is in serious trouble. You need to question your government what they are doing with your budget. And again you are wrong about Somalia figures. Don't fabricate figures to prove a point. That's desperation, my brother.

You know Dangotelanders, its a shame you keep defaulting to the feminine narcissistic tendencies I discussed earlier.

Okay -- 20B dollars worth of Kenya agriculture

No 3 ; KENYA HORTICULTURE SECTOR - worth 1-1.5B dollars. Verifiable export data.

This consist mainly our flowers, fruits and vegetables - and indeed Kenya is one the horticulture power house of the world. We export 150m metric tonnes of cut flowers. About 1/4 of all flowers sold in Europe are from Kenya. The fruits & vegetable you buy in Europe are mostly likely from Kenya. Avacados especially are growing so fast - South American countries that do this should be worried.

Kenya is the flower garden of Europe.
https://www.cnn.com/2015/03/16/africa/kenya-flower-industry/index.html

And this sectors support some 4.5M people

Kenya export tonnes of vegetable - french beans & avacados - are some of most common vegetable exported - meeting European standards without any problem

Next time you buy Avacados in Europe - knows it's grown in Kenya

Many people here are great fans of the IDF,oohing and ahhing over their specops, admittedly cutting edge weapons and war fighting history. Few know logistics a major part of war favours these Caucanderthals since they never fight more than 30 mns away from a major base and Uncle Sam always writes them a blank cheque for all and any resupply in time of war. Also, though they've fought national armies in the past, frankly they were all Arabs.of which the less said the better.
So,they've never been tested with a peer or even near peer enemy. Mainly, they're enemy are the poorly armed Palestinians they regularly kill at regular intervals in a process they themselves describe as 'mowing the lawn.' When they meet properly prepared motivated fighters Shlomos boys come unstuck like in July 2006 when Hezb gave them a torrid time in their Lebanon incursion. Anyway an officer of the 'most moral army in the world,' recently admitted what 'conspiracy theorists' and Arab observers have said for the longest time. They deliberately target Palestinian kids.

I've said it before and I reiterate. Chosenites aren't part of the wider Homo sapien sapiens community!

The next sector in our Farming activities.

2) TEA - GDP worth 1.5-2B dollars. We produce more than 2 billion kilos of tea leaves and around 500M metric tonnes of black processed Tea. A kilo of processed tea is 3 dollars * 500 metric tonnes...should give you the figure.

Kenya is global export leader of black tea. In production it's second only to China and India. We produce more than 2 billion kilos of tea leaves and around 500M metric tonnes of black processed Tea.

Mombasa Tea Auction is the world largest tea auction - with tea from as far as Malawi & Congo being sold there. Kenya is known for producing highest quality of tea - Lipton Tea/Uniliver Tea - if you've drank tea - Chance are it was from Kenya. Esp if it's high quality..hand-picked kenyan tea.

Tea farms..plantantion and small holders.

Some of biggest companies here include UNILIVER TEA, JAMES FINLAY, TATA owning huge plantations and KTDA - the smallholder tea company.

Now KTDA supports 500,000 Small-holder farmers and is AFRICA MODEL SMALL HOLDING Company. It pays annually nearly 1B dollars to farmers.

Fyi,many have tried to replicate the KTDA interface with small holder farmer operation without success. A manager told me Ugandans,Rwandese and even Saffas have done study tours and even hired KTDA managers without success. But GASSSSPP tea only gets maybe 1.5 bn$ yearly unlike Dangotelands' 100-150 bn $ agriculture receipts mainly from peanuts!
HAHAAHAHA!

My last assignment for weekend for Nigeria - demonstrate your 200B grin grin Agriculture GDP.

I am going to give you an example kenya. At 23% of $85b GDP - our agriculture generates roughly 20B. Note; Kenya is well known agricultural powerhouse - despite having 10% land that is arable.

The breakdown of Kenya's 20B dollars worth of Agriculture.

1) Dairy sector - worth about 3-4B dollars of production annually. We produce 5B litres of Milk per annum...at about 0.6usd per litre...that gives you about 3-4B dollars worth of produced milk per annum. That least case scenario..we are not only self-sufficient in milk (only RSA can claim that) but we also export to east, south, central africa, europe and asia.

Kenya's is by far best in dairy farming in Africa - having overtaken South Africa & Sudan - with more pedigree cows than any country in Africa) - and it looking increasingly at competing with newzealands and denmark of the world. We already have as good breeds as they got.

The sector star...
One of biggest companies in this sector is Brookside - (was valued at 400M Usd in 2014 when French's dairy conglomerate Danone bought 40% of it) - and it's process 1.5M litres per day - or more than half a billion litres of milk per annum..and sell it's milk all the way to Congo/Zambia...and is looking to enter Nigeria soon (and save you from milk powder).

In Nigeria you're used to seeing oil tankers..In Kenya you'll find milk tankers. This is agriculture at it's finest.

Here is you Fulani herdmen (THE PRESIDENT) when he came to admire our cows - Nigeria's fulani cows produce 1litre per day - these cows are capable of producing 20-50 liters of milk per day

And the sector is driven by small-holders - having 3 -4 quality cows

Cows, specifically high yield dairy cows are proven to be ideal in poverty reduction. One grade cow producing 30 l daily nets the farmer at least 12 $. With 3 or 4 that dude is middle class! IIRC I saw a piece recently stating Kiambu dairy plants alone are valued at 2.3 bn$;I'm looking for the link now. Unlike you Dangotelanders we know humble beginnings and firm foundations lead to success-NOT DREAMS!?

Sorry IMF or WB doesn't validate GDP. Just defend your GDP. It shouldn't be hard to show us the mighty Nigerian Giant.

Exactamundo! It shouldn't be hard-bleating repetetively about a tiny 70 bn$,actually a 90 bn% GDP, looking for relevance won't answer the question. You've been shown how to correlate with consumption data.Come on obadeeremi,freshest4live,justtoodark,jason14 and uzzolik its not that hard! ITS ACTUALLY A STIMULATING INTELLECTUAL EXERCISE!
