Igbo ladies are single even in old age not because of bride price but because of their greedy choices (which they like to term 'standard'). If Igbo ladies were less greedy in their choices, Igbo men would not have problem with paying bride price! Igbo men are rather scared of the high demands and expectations of these ladies after marriage. Such high demand can send a man to his early grave and no man wants to die untimely, so they'll rather keep such greedy igbo ladies at arms length even if it means marrying a moderate lady from another tribe.
