Lol i know right. As i speak, i have not spent a dime. A friend is helping me to bring my dollars this week. I havent opened a bank account
Summe:
This is very detailed. A mix of experiences indeed! Congratulations once again. I can't wait to join you in Newfoundland.

How did you go about getting Canadian dollars of your own? Did you open a bank account at the airport? Just in case I don't meet a nice white woman that would give me 20 dollars for food.

Hi guys, sorry it took this long.

Did not do covid test. No one checked my luggage in Lagos. Just went to the Ethiopian airlines stand, gave them enrolment letter, admission letter, arrive can receipt photocopy and I checked in my luggage. Begged the checker to put me by the window for all flights up to Newfoundland, he did and i just tipped his something. Went to have breakfast and then dashed towards the boarding gate. As expected, na only pilot no tax me. Plane left around 2. We got to Addis Ababa around 9.
Getting out of the plane, we rushed to the boarding gate to get set for Dublin. Plane left around 11 and we got to Dublin about 8 hrs later I think. This was so so long. There was quite a delay at Dublin I think because of logistics but from Dublin to Toronto it took us about 7 hrs. The journey was long for me as my max before now used to be around 5 hrs.

We got to Toronto, waited for about 30 minutes in the plane, went straight to border services, filled a few forms, showed our arrive can, boarding pass and passport and then we were directed towards immigration. The guy just came to us, asked us for passport, tuition receipt/enrolment verification, declaration form and admission letter. 10 minutes later, he called me, gave me back my documents and issued my study permit and gave me a paper to direct me on how to get my social insurance number, then that was all.

Checked in my luggage going to Newfoundland. It was still past 11 and my flight was for 9:30 pm so i just followed my Nigerian friends going to Vancouver to their boarding gate, gisted and saw them off at past 2. Then it was only me. This was draining. I then began to tour the airport and met a South Sudanese woman with whom I discussed the state of our countries and neo-colonialism. She's a Canadian citizen so she enlightened me a whole lot and when she realized i didnt have cash cause I was complaining on phone that i was hungry, she gave me 20 U.S dollars but the mumu me went to Italian to buy ham, bacon and coke. I forcefully finished it o.

Went to my boarding gate 2 hrs prior and saw a white guy. Moved closer to him and started a conversation. He was speaking fast so my accent also had to change. We discussed Trump, liberalism, Canada's plan towards development and economic expansion, American and Chinese trade wars and the beauty of data analytics in Insurance. A few minutes to board, we parted and he got to the plane first as per him seat be like first class.

I later got on the plane but when the plane paced around the runway, i think it began to have issues so the captain said we'd return to the gate and do a system refresh on the plane. It delayed for two hours. I sha know say after like five minutes wey plane move up, i don sleep. Before I know, e don remain 8 minutes to land. Landing was thrilling cause the journey from Lagos was long. I got to the NFL border, took my luggage, approached the border official, submitted my passport, travel declaration form and my GT atm card for indentification. She spoke her English and then freed me. I met my greeter and he put me in the cab but failed to tell the porter i was coming cause he was attending to two others.

The cabman dropped me and I knocked and knocked but nobody came through. I was just on a shirt. I languished in the cold, shouted for help but no one came through. I saw a car pass by and slowly approached the car and an Asian lady listened to me, asked me to wait and she called her supervisor. I ran across the road for like five minutes to limit the effect of the cold and then she drove towards me and gave me a number to call but that was when the other two guys came and the porter came around. I went in, called the greeter, fuckling blast him and he apologized. I was then shown my room and I checked in for isolation. I am in quarantine.
A mix of experiences you see?

MadeMan01:

Congratulations.
Rest and give us proper report from Nigeria to destination in Canada. Also, is the quarantine location to be at final destination point or first point of entry in Canada

Good afternoon guys. I arrived Canada a few hours ago and still waiting for my connecting flight to Newfoundland.

The flight was lllloooonnngggg. Ethiopian airlines is so cheap and underrated. Please try it if you have time for the stopovers.

I know you can't generalize but the border officials and immigration personnels were super nice. The guy even came to the queue, took our documents (LOA, Tuition receipt, passport and the Declaration card we filled on the plane )and issued our permits without stress. When I went to check in my luggage, the attendants were so humble and attentive.

My guys don limme go Vancouver sha. Arriving St John's after midnight.

Still so speechless I don't know what else to say

Hi, please keep calling them and tell UPS to bring it over to Ibadan. This nonsense has happened to someone here who has had to postpone her exam because of their unprofessionalism
Phatkayconcept:
Hi guys, I'm having a very difficult time with VFS and UPS. On Friday, VFS said that they have shipped my passport through their in-house UPS to my address in Ibadan.

Since Friday , I have been waiting for UPS to arrive. Yesterday, they called me from their Ogunlana drive UPS office and asked if I have received my passport and I said no that I am waiting for them all day long. They said I will get it, yesterday passed, I didn't get it. Later in the evening, their tracking website said technical issue, that my package will be delayed.

Today, I got a message from a man from their office and he said they have shipped my package to badagry, when I wrote clearly that my address is Ibadan.

Guys, does anybody have any ups contact that can connect me with Ogunlana Drive or any UPS number in Lagos. Or anyway I can help myself in this situation.

Both VFS and UPS number that called me are not going through. This VFS are filled with useless and unprofessional people.

Sent my passport on the 3rd of November. I really pray you never get my kind of timeline. Since it's Abuja, expect a quicker pace
adeenzo:

Nice, when did you send your passport? I sent mine on Thursday 3rd of December and it reached Abuja on Friday 4th, and today I got the message that my passport is at Canada visa office (and someone on this platform said it meant my passport is in Nairobi) I used DHL 2 way courier service.
When do you think can be a feasible estimated time of the passport returning?
Thanks

Kakokako:

Good one bro. I have not received this yet, though I called them twice today and they promised my TRV will be dispatched by close of work tomorrow and that I'll only be able to get my tracking number on Monday when I call.

Did this email come with your tracking number?

adeenzo:
I just got my tracking number ID and when I tracked my application it is said "visa application tracking number ID xxxxx is being processed at the Canada visa office. for more info log on to bla bla bla.
I heard this means my passport is in Nairobi, Kenya.
At what point do I get my letter of introduction?.
Ps. I haven't gotten any email from the VFS I had to call for hours before I got my tracking ID.

So there's something I ve realized. VFS has no pattern.

The email I posted here was a reply to the proof I sent on the 8th but the proof was requested on the 9th and if you remember, they say they don't work on mails that come before the payment instructions mail.

Also, the lady confirmed to me that the passport was received two days ago

All you can do is keep calling.
jdoe28015:
Congrats finally!! My friend is still going back and forth with them, they sent that email with courier request and he replied to it with everything they asked for . Later today, they sent a message saying his passport wasn’t in the office and we had to call severally to have them physically verify, till now they haven’t sent a confirmation email. I am just tired .

Cool. Please, what number can they be reached at or how are you communicating with them. I have sent emails and called via the line ending with 9900 since Dec 1 when I made payment. My passport is still with VFS.
