VAC or embassy?
Chocs:
Your passport is still with the VAC. When it has been stamped, you’ll see that it has been returned back to VFS. VFS will then hand it over to the courier.

It's frustrating but we can only hope for the best. Another two days of hibernation
fratermathy:

Wait till Monday. Since the Lagos office started stamping passports this month, they've only done so on Monday/Tuesday.

Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Kimkalash: 4:09pm On Nov 20, 2020
If i m not mistaken, the first notification from VFS about the reception of your passport should be a mail that contains your tracking id which is same as your tracking number. Check your spam too
Ome102595:
Hello house,
How long does it take VFS to send tracking Number after they have received passport via DHL.

It's been 2days since they received my passport.

Please it's urgent.
Please I need answer from the people that have submitted their passport
Thanks

Indian VACs will be open from tomorrow. There has been relative ease though
DINO71:

Hi
Did you apply in Turkey? I applied on the 1st of April and got AIP on the 6th although it was dated 5th. Later got my BVL immediately my DLI was Covid ready which was the first batch. The following day got my PPR. I think the delay is because of your school just being approved at a time there is a lot of backlog of applications to roll out as per PPRs and the rest. It appears they are really overwhelmed and are trying to slow down the pace of processing applications. I even understand that India VACs have been closed for now. I know it can be frustrating..... let’s not loose faith, you will get there.
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Kimkalash: 5:31pm On Nov 19, 2020
2nd and 3rd
Pimp04:
Please when did you get the bvl and ppr?
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Kimkalash: 5:04pm On Nov 19, 2020
It's not generic.I raised such a week before getting PPR and they sent the same and even told me the status, that they ve sent a passport request. If you received MER and AIP, you should be calm
Eilenora:
So after Fanshawe's name came out on the list, I sent IRCC an email alongside webforms requesting the status of my application. I also did this before Fanshawe's name was published to which they responded that only students whose schls had approved covid readiness plans would be allowed into Canada. Earlier this morning I received a response to my emails thus:

Good day,

Thank you for your correspondence.

Please be informed that a decision has been made on your application. You will be informed of the next steps in the coming few weeks.

In view of our limited resources, we will not be able to respond to any further correspondences from you regarding this matter.

We respectfully request that you withhold from writing further emails until we contact you. We will not be responding to future emails received within this timeframe.

We appreciate your cooperation, patience, and understanding.

What do you guys think of this? Is this a generic response or are they just tired of my emails? I appear to have over-done it cheesy

I have a question. Did everyone who got their status changed to approved get a "your application is being processed at IRCC" a day prior?
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Kimkalash: 11:40am On Nov 19, 2020
Our timelines are the same . 3rd, 5th, 16th
Dovelove543:
Hi Kimkalash,
I agree with you. I sent my passport to Lagos VAC on the 3rd of November and it was received on the 4th by Festus and transmitted to IRCC on the 5th, as I received the transmission message and tracking number.

On the 16th, I received 2 messages, the first stated a transmission of my passport, and the second stated that processed enveloped has been sent to CVAC Lagos. When I called them, they said that passport processing takes an average of 16 days-meaning it could be more or less. What I forgot to ask them is if it's 16 days or 16 working days. Anyways, we will wait.

Please keep everyone posted, we have the same timeline and profile. All the best.

Mine hasn't but if so, then you should contact the VAC asap.
Honney85:
Thank you! Yes my status has changed to approved since the 9th
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Kimkalash: 10:30am On Nov 19, 2020
By the way, has your status changed to "Approved?". If so, then you could guess so
Honney85:
Dear Nairalanders, please I need help to understand what this means.

I just tracked my passport on the website now and it says my passport has bn collected from the canada visa application centre lagos on 17th. I'm worried because somebody we submitted passport together, paid for passport return same day collected hers yesterday. So I want to know if this means UPS already has my passport.

P.S I'm using an agent for my application and I haven't gotten my LOI and counterfoil details at least, so he says
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Kimkalash: 10:27am On Nov 19, 2020
Hello please try to calm down. Definitely the communication fault is from VFS. I submitted 2 weeks ago and whenever i tracked it, it said it was received at the VAC for collection (probably collection here meant collection by IRCC).

Three days ago, i received two emails where one said decision envelope was received at the VAC and would be forwarded to VAC and the other said it was in transit to IRCC. Some people that got the same emails said VAC claimed they were error messages.

In my own view, i dont think so but they probably told them they were error messages because they would be contradicting the first mail they sent ever before these two (the one that confirmed that the courier company had it delivered to them and that it was dispatched to IRCC). I think the first one is likely to be either erroneous or incorrectly written.

Why do i think so? Because when i tracked it on the delivery date it said "received at VAC and ready for collection" but a day after i received those two emails, the tracker said "sent to the visa office" which means the sending took effect when they sent the second of the two mails three days ago.

They are definitely making progress but just communicating poorly. Let's be calm. It shall be well.

My own mail two days ago said envelope decision was received at Lagos Canada VAC OC and will then be sent to Lagos Canada VAC OC. Here's just one con of legalizing weed in Canada. Say no to drugs!
Lekiboboe:
I got a mail some few minutes ago from VFS

Dear Bleep,

Visa application, tracking ID No

The envelope for the decision on the results of your visa that has been processed has been received at the Canadian Visa Application Center at Abuja OC, on the date. We will then send this to the Canadian Visa Application Center Abuja OC. Please note that this is an automated email. Please DO NOT reply to this email. Your decision envelope will be returned to you via the courier service offered by the VAC. Collection of decision envelopes in-person at the VAC is not permitted until further notice. Please refer to the “Buy Services” page of the VAC website for further information on courier services offered by the VAC

Regards

VFS Global

Good evening guys. I bought my ticket today, despite my passport not being stamped yet since i submitted two weeks ago. There was an issue though. The agent was telling me i wouldnt be allowed to board without the result of a covid test taken three days prior to the journey. She said it's compulsory but i heard some have traveled without it, so could someone please help clarify? Thanks

Akannitommy:
Sent my passport on 3rd November to the Lagos VFS and DHL tracking showed it was received by the popular "Mr Festus" on 4th November. I got the first and only email with tracking number on 5th November saying they received my passport and was dispatched to Lagos VO.

No counterfoil email, no LOI then I received this same message about 15 minutes ago which seems like an error message. We will keep fingers crossed and see what happens next.
