I started my studies in September and decided to get acclimatized with the environment before Winter, that's why I plan to waltz off early December.

I shall go book my ticket soonest. Thank you.
JustMellow:

Hello Kimkalash,

If your resumption is for Winter 2021, go ahead to book for either month end or early December otherwise, wait your application out.

All the best

The school would need my travel details in order to finalize the documentation, also they stress that spaces are limited
Chukwubuikexo:
You should ask your school for an extension citing these obvious reasons
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Kimkalash: 7:30am On Nov 14, 2020
I ve seen some in other schools that cost 1890 for both weeks. There was even one whose school asked him to quarantine at a hotel for 190 per week.
deepwater:

Its actually not cheap at that rate
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Kimkalash: 4:46am On Nov 14, 2020
Yes it says Approved on the final decision. I hope application status changes to approved by next week.
Are you saying a minimum of 4k CAD cash is needed to take there? If not, how much?
The reason I thought it would make sense to book is because the spaces for quarantine might be limited and bombarded cause it's relatively affordable (560 for housing plus food for the two weeks)
Kindly advise further please

BlegendE:
You,ve been approved already. But just relax. Allow a space one one week. Remember, you also need to travel with some CAD in cash. You need to request for this from your bank. I haven't done this before sha. BTA is for business trips.
There is a provision for students. I also don't know how long it takes for the bank to approve such amount of CAD, e.g $4,000CAD. So, this should also be considered before booking flight.

Login to your CIC account. Check your dashboard. The final comment says Approved. Kindly verify. I think it is for all Passport request holders sha.
NOTE: In my case, this Approval reflected in FINAL DECISION box, even before I received the confirmation Approval from CIC, on Tuesday

Hey good evening guys.

Submitted my passport last week Tuesday and when I called VFS this week, they said it was still at IRCC. I requested for the travel exemption letter and quarantine plan from my school after filling the travel request form and they told me to book my flight in the next three days and send them the details as they have tentatively reserved a space for me already and would need to confirm my traveling before finalizing the required documents.

So my question is, is it wise to book my flight despite my application status not changing to Approved or not receiving the counterfoil and intro letter yet?
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Kimkalash: 8:10am On Nov 13, 2020
Not at all. Let's expect it does next week. So far,it's been orderly
rebecausoro:

It hasn't changed o. Nothing new since then. Any update on your end?

I couldn't upload the VFS return courier form here as I was getting an error message. I used a public file server to upload it. You can access it by clicking the link below:

I largely have the opinion that it'll be done chronologically but i guess everyone who submitted in the last two weeks should get this month

I got accepted into Memorial University and am currently expecting to get final approval. You can try it.
thunderfirebubu:
what do you think about memorial University of Newfoundland? I searched and found that their tuition fee is quite low but I think it's in a remote part of canada.
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Kimkalash: 11:43am On Nov 11, 2020
I didn't say all. I meant they cover the sensitive fields and can connect dots
Anon123:

not all IRCC officials are lawyers and accountants o. infact nobody here knows.
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Kimkalash: 9:32am On Nov 11, 2020
IRCC officials are trained. They don't need to call your bank to know the nooks and crannies of your financial situation. They are former lawyers and accountants that know so much about these compact fields. They act on their own discretion and have links with secret service and investigators in their country. They even know a lot about your country
sleekcheek:
So how else do you think IRCC verifies bank statements? Banks may not be able to reveal your account balance but they can confirm a mail from IRCC asking them if so and so amount was in your account during a certain period.

Finally approved. Meaning that, VFS will send a return message soonest.

All verification and checks of financial credentials must have be done before requesting for passport. Passport request says "A decision has been made on your application.

please i said IRCC not VFS

You and I received bvl and ppr on the same days We Al's submitted the same day so we re in the same shoes. I called VFS yesterday and what they told me was that our passports are still at the embassy. I guess they re tryna stretch our traveling towards the end of the year as much as possible..
rebecausoro:

Thanks for this. I've only received one mail from VFS that my passport is in transit to IRCC. I received the mail on Thursday last week. When we should start counting the 1 week and a few days? Is it after submission or when it gets to IRCC office? I haven't gotten any notification that my passport has reached the office yet. I don't know if that is normal.

I wont go on to start lecturing people on how to believe and be hopeful or design a perfect application cause from what i have seen, luck plays a very huge role here. Almost all docs i got for the app were from different sources. It's called Yorubas call "iru wa ogiri wa". No two applications are ever going to be reviewed in the same way even if they contain the same thing including the names and surnames. Yeah hardwork plays a huge role but you re not the one to review the application so the best advice one can give is that the applicant does his best and let it be. Refusal could be extremely tough to handle especially in this country of ours where gathering cash from people who might not believe in you could be so daunting. Whoever comes out to say he wants to apply has already done his best cause it's the last stage of the whole process. I respect everyone trying his best to get a better life however the result comes.
I personally dont have many comments to give regarding the gurus in here cause i began to engage here only after getting AIP but i m quite impressed by how they take their time to respond to those they can even when they re so busy.
It might seem paradoxical and hypocritical but from what i see, other countries are really accepting other people so why not spread one's eggs if one has the means to? I hate to say it but Canada is not the end of the world.

List of docs submitted:
Acceptance letter
GMAT result
Resume
University Certificate (Bsc in Russian)
Transcripts
NYSC cert
Police certificate
International passports (old one had a one year visa of when i studied in Russia for a year)
Forms
Uncle's account statement of 15 million naira (over 300 million naira outflow and inflow)
Affidavit stating four of his properties are worth one billion naira, that his monthly income is hundred million naira, his four kids and their edu expenses in Canada
Tax receipts
His business documents
His passport data page
Sponsorship letter
My Statement of Purpose (six paragraphs)

Note : I didnt submit enrolment proof
I didnt show proof of tuition payment
I didnt declare any personal belongings
Mentioned just mom, sis and bro in one of the forms (Said nothing about their financial standing)

Mix all the above together and you d see the role variability and luck play in visa application decision.
Thanks for everything guys!
