sexybaby22: Congrats to future Akokites. The thing about Unilag is if you PASS , you will enter. You don't have to know anyone for your name to come out of the first list. So just READ AND PASS. That's why I keep telling students who are sure of themselves to pick the school. The process is about 70% open |

Vshock: Faborode said the agreement was reached after a deliberation of officials of the ministry, federal universities, polytechnics and colleges of education. The secretary-general said while it was agreed that the post-UTME screening should be sustained following the scrapping of the Computer Based Test (CBT). Can anybody explain the above statement to me?? I thought I was the only one who noticed that. The worst part of it is that the news was probably culled from one of our tabloids. |
Education › Re: JAMB Adopts “Point System” Option For 2016 Admission. How To Calculate Points by kindmman(m): 9:16pm On Jul 05, 2016 |
Bolustic: I don't think this is good enough considering the high rate of examination malpractices in O'Level exams. If you happen to mark WAEC/NECO scripts, you'd know most secondary school students, don't own their results they cheated.
That apart, using UNILORIN or UNILAG who get close to, if not more than, 90,000 applicants a year with just a meagre 7,000 available admission slots, if the points grading system was adopted and let's say 45,000 qualified. What would the FG do to the other remaining 38,000 successful applicants.
Post UTME is by far the most credible exam right now.
Besides, why is it so hard to pay for post utme? The same people who will spend lavishly on Aso Ebi, Owanbe, Sallah, Alcohols, clubbing and other frivolities should be able to spend on education without complaints This country ehn, one step forward three steps backward. This point system is nothing but a disaster. It is only going to encourage examination malpractices more. Most of these mushrooms private secondary schools that write WAEC for their students are just being told to do better. I know very many students who passed with good grades but could not defend them. |

Dear VO, there was a mistake in the date of birth on my WAEC certificate (1987 instead of 1985). Also, the names on the certificate is reads Akinsanmi Olatunde J., while the name on my passport reads Akinsanmi Alvin Olatunde. These are all documents been used in processing my visa. I have got affidavits to back up these differences. I want to ask if this will not likely spoil my chances at the interview. |

Rather than sympathizing with this man, why don't we start a Nairaland Fund Raising Campaign to cover his medical treatment? Heck, even if he has to fly to India for treatment, let's use social media to make positive changes for once and not just focus on celebrities or politics. I stand gidigba behind u. |

Idowuogbo: *nods in agreement* In addition, the true test of your being alive before God is also in your attitude to God's word. Are u saying those that died today didn't receive God's divine favour? Death comes to us at its appointed time no matter how hard we pray. We ought not be bothered about death but what comes into play in the after-life. |

pureguide: So man who lost their lives today said same thing! And I am pretty sure the lady said this more than you! Because its just a couple of days to her wedding. Who knows some reading this will even fall victim of death today or so. So ur saying is absolutely a mere drama. I just lost my dad as well. The best one can do is to expect the unexpected. And death is no exception. U can never tell what a minute can do to you! You said it all. All this 'will not be my portion' syndrome is totally sickening. Death is a price that we must all pay just that we don't know how it's going to happen. |
