My friend has a accord 07 V6. I noticed it has a ticking sound at idle and asked him about it, he said he never noticed it until i asked. Now i know direct injection has a rhythmic ticking sound naturally, does this engine have direct injection? Or is this ticking sound normal for this engine? Car has 180k miles on it. The ticking sound is not too loud but it is noticable, car drives perfectly. |
Abdomox:i wont advise using that car as a family car if that is what you are planning to do. I havent had more than 3 people in my car since i bought it. |
Abdomox:for me when it comes to cars, fuel consumption is not really the first thing i consider, performance and availability of genuine suspension parts is what i look at. Reason why i went for the 350 instead of 250 was simply because of greater performance. So far i havent had any problem with the car but i believe parts are available. Note that you will come across several 250 models online and at dealerships before a 350 model. It costs between 9500 to 10500 to get a full tank, depending on the fuel station you use. I use this car mainly for my weekly commute from abuja to kaduna and it takes a quarter tank, one way. Overall the car feels very solid and well built, i believe if you take care of it and engage in preventive maintenance you wont have any problems. |
HeavenlyBang:the car is FAST, fastest car i’ve owned so far. One reason that kind of drove me away from the g37 was that i wasnt sure of how durable its suspension is and how accessible the parts are. Bad suspension really frustrates me |
HeavenlyBang:stop this kind talk ![]() |
nwanneni:my brother my dream na to get that e63. Let them keep deceiving themselves, they think a quarter mile race and 0-60 times is what completely makes one car better than the other. |
nurey:shiiift na just because say i no get money to buy my dream AMG i say make i try something different. At this point i don tire to dey drive any benz 350 models. |
kingreign:thank you. |
HeavenlyBang:thank you. It is very impressive, performs far better than it looks. Makes me drool for the 2015 model , mine is a 2011 by the way. My mindset going into the market was getting the one with the best deal, i had both vehicles in mind. |
HeavenlyBang:no, i got a is350 |
How about a 1.6 liter engine with 1000+ hp
|

sooperrescue:obviously the cooling system had issues like i clearly stated, i replaced the entire system and yet the same issue repeated itself. I am not used to a car breaking down often without warning especially for a person that travels every week, sometimes very late in the evening. I lost trust in the car and didnt want to risk it which is why i let go of the car. I used coolant. I am aware of all the engine oil wahala, i appreciate your advice though, good looking out. |
Kamalu5258:yes |
sooperrescue:i used the right engine oil |
Pipedreams:a tank meaning that it is rugged |
sooperrescue:are you saying that fuel octane level can cause a bmw to overheat? Like i said, i consider myself a car enthusiast and i dont play with my cars, i make sure they are properly maintained, i make sure i know about a car inside out before i decide on owning it. Therefore, the question about using the right engine oil or not is out of the question because best believe i use manufacturer recommended parts and fluids. Octane rating is a big deal, but i didnt know it could cause overheating, please clarify this. I only know turbochargered cars are less tolerant to low octane levels which causes engine defects either on the turbochargers or from the block itself. It was one of the things i looked at before making up my mind on getting the car. |
HeavenlyBang:I had a 2011 E92 335i, bought directly from a US car dealer (not auction). It had about 55k miles on it, car was nice and quick. It bothered me with its heating issues which i was well aware of that bmw’s from 1998-2012 usually had. First incident happened on my way to kaduna where the car overheated, i took it to my mechanic and we didnt find anything wrong. Car was ok for about a month before the same experience occured again on the same road. At this time i was starting to get fed up because i consider myself a car enthusiast and i must confess i drive fast on that abj-kd road. after overtaking so many people who think their cars are fast, my car now breaks down and i watch the same people pass me by from the side of the road, i felt embarrassed. I decided to replace the entire cooling system, nothing happened for the next 2 months and note that i had another car, a 2006 c230 sport so the bmw wasnt a daily driver. My brother borrowed the car before calling me that the car has broke down with smoke coming out of the bonnet, it overheated again and he didnt notice fast enough until the head gasket blew. At this point i have had enough, i didnt trust the car again but still i decided to fix it and i read somewhere online that i should buy a headgasket that is thicker than the stock gasket. I really wasnt looking forward to experimenting anything without guarantee and so i sold the car together with my c230 and bought myself a 2011 E350 sport which i have been using for 1year 2months now without any incident. It is my daily driver and also what i use to travel. I must say that car may look all flashy and all but it is actually a tank . That is my story. |
Why u wan go past 80kmh with orobo? |
Nurey come and fix ur nissan |
I can't choose between Ferrari and Toyota please which one should I buy? My mechanic said I should remove the thermostat of any car i buy. Please advice ![]() |
This is not the first time a clk badge is put on a c class. Op do u know the history of this car? There was never a clk sedan even if there was it will not look exactly the same as a w203. Afterall the front of a clk is different from that of a w203. Mind you clk stand for Coupé Leicht Kompakt which translates to coupe light short in english. From the updated instrument cluster and infotainment system i can tell this is a late 2005 c240 or early 2006 |
On board |
nurey:you havent converted me to anything . Lexus makes nice cars but they’re no where near benz. |
Both of them are mad |
A |
So us that dont live in Lagos we cant participate? ![]() |
HeavenlyBang:i will research more on that, thanks. Thats impossible, maybe g35 fans just trying to be biased. |
elshanAutos:we were talking about “everyday” cars |
nurey:i knew you would come . I dont agree, they only make faster V6 engines, which are all not fast realistically. The reason i’m trying out an infiniti is because i dont have money for an AMG. I want to try something else. And i am still contemplatig between lexus is350 and the g37. Something i am looking up now is that CLK550 does not have airmatic suspension aka “balloon” |
Awesome car. I'm on the verge of acquiring a 2010 G37 coupe VQ37HR. Wish me luck ![]() |
kingreign:my point is that despite the v8 being in much older models compared to the m272 which was used until late 2011, benz owners with less knowledge will assume their 2010 c class is faster than a 2002 E430. C55 is a car i’ve always wanted to own, i only wish it had the priviledge of having a M113K engine baba God pick my call |
