The government and politicians were the reason why the protest turned to vandalism.
90 percent of the vandalism was due to government-sponsored hoodlums sent to kill and disrupt the peaceful gathering. The politicians in Lagos, Abuja etc should start answering some questions.
The only vandalism that the protesters participated in was that of the toll gate structure excluding those shops that were looted by hoodlums, guess who should be blamed for that, the government.
How could you send military men and the same police they are protesting against to go and kill harmless protesting youths that are only demanding the right thing, they were not carrying guns nothing but the best thing you could think of is "kill some and disperse the rest" and you think it would be over.
Just do the right thing, those policemen that killed people and harassed people before, during, and after the protest are somewhere doing the same thing to others and you are saying they have been disbanded.
How many have been brought to book? Probably 2 or 1 and that is even before the fake panel.
Who ordered the shooting at the Lekki toll gate? unknown.
Has the government changed how the police conduct their affairs? No, the police only changed for a day or two then business as usual.
Recently one innocent boy was slapped like a criminal for having a laptop, nappy hair, 25k was extorted from him and his family because he had no money in his acct, so nothing has changed yet.
Is the government ready to make a change? No, they are more concerned about preventing the protesters from protesting and generating money by all means necessary, they forgot money can only be generated when there is peace.
How about providing security for the protesters and anyone found guilty of trying to destroy properties should be brought to the book.
How about listening to the youths and do, as they say, fish out those blood thirty policemen and military men?
The only reason why they wouldn't allow such is that it could lead to, the demand for good governance that they are not ready to give.. Thus protests like this would never stop.
The government is not serious, evil in human form.
It's not only about compensation... Do the right thing.
later same idiats would say, they are just trouble sponsored makers, why are they protesting? We have met their bla, bla, bla, is this not the same thing that led to the endsarz protest?
I have this my ex girlfriend that just gave birth and she do call me at times to send her money, .. and come to think of it ,she has fought me before and also insult hell out of me that time I am still searching for job, telling me I don't have money to care for her..she left me though she had a baby girl for me of which I do send money for her feeding and school fees...but she will call me that she needed some money that I should send for her...to eat is difficult, she is doing creche job that they pay her token even where she stays with her husband is her husband friends house and that one had drove them away one night ..I have to send money to her to lodge in an hotel due to pregnancy ...the same husband did not show care at all dump her aside..I ask her about the whereabout of her husband she will say I should forget him, ....I told her can't she go to her husband family house ..she said no...
Even the naming ceremony self dey did...only the husband came..and it was this my baby mama father that just organise menu for the naming ceremony...
But I do send some money to for the sake of my daughter...
I do remember those days we were together ,she will be insulting me , talking to me mannerless ...
We fought then because she dates guys arround then until I broke up with her...
Now she do call for me to send money to her ...but I don't know what to do, I don't like insulting or shouting on someone because she needs help....but I only do for the sake of my daughter...but should I stop.the husband is not serious about her ....
And this my baby mama is stubborn.. hypertensive lady ..
But if I remember those days, is as if I should remind her... and I will stop sending her money.but as a Christian I just use church mind...
If she ask me for money, I do feel pity...
Should I stop or continue assisting her...
You better start making plans to get your daughter from her before she ends up being brought up the way you would not like, don't let her experience things you would hate to hear. It's better you hand her over to your mom and send your mom that money instead. Let your ex sort herself.out.
The lies and propaganda all targeted against him to reduce his popularity and tarnish his reputation
Hope this government have done better now?
This is not a lie, and it has nothing to do with propaganda. He was a man in woman's robe who could not handle the country and allowed a woman co run the country but truth be told Buhari has taken this shiiiit to the next level.
Gen was a good man with pure intentions, but he lacked the action there by leaving us with a man that has bad intentions and has the action to enforce his wicked intentions, he brought us into this mess called Buahri, if he had performed well Buahri would have retired from politics already before people got bamboozled.
humility33: I told some peeps then...when u guys where betraying Jonathan for A northerner hoping the SW get to rule afterwards u thought Northerners are fools
Betraying GEJ will hurt for a long time I am voting Atiku/Obi.
Sheuns: Some saying Segalink was against endsars, that’s not true. He was never against endsars, he only cautioned against over dragging it.
it didn't end there, he was expecting people to give him credit and because he was not getting it he intended sabotaging the movement. At he point when it grew even bigger than what he cautioned, he took the back exit.
Same as others that I won't like to mention their names.
He should have played his part and leave the rest for God to handle without letting is ego come in between. If his effort was noticed fine and if it wasn't it's also fine but heck no.
naptu2: Some activists, protesters and opposition figures have complained about the fact that Salihu Tanko Yakasai, popularly known as Dawisu or Peacock, has been listed as a speaker at the Soro Soke Summit, an event that has been put together to mark the first anniversary of the End SARS protests.
Salihu Tanko Yakasai is a son of former politician and elder statesman, Tanko Yakasai, who was active in the politics of the First Republic, served as a commissioner in the military government of Kano State in the 1970s and was special adviser on National Assembly affairs to President Shehu Shagari.
The younger Yakasai (Dawisu) was until recently a special adviser on media to Kano State governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje. He was suspended from office last year for criticising President Muhammadu Buhari's handling of the End SARS protests. He was reinstated a few days later, but he was eventually dismissed and arrested by the DSS in February this year for once again criticising President Buhari over the security situation in Northern Nigeria (this was after some school children were kidnapped by bandits).
The activists believe that Dawisu should not be allowed to speak at the event because he spoke on behalf of the government until very recently. They believe that it will set a bad precedent if someone who was on the side of the government so recently, is given a platform and validated by opposition figures. The complaints were so much that the name "Dawisu" trended on Nigerian Twitter yesterday night and this morning. Here are screenshots of their reactions.
Let home have a voice
Since he is only there to speak. Although been a politician is a red flag. Na only talk e want talk. We can only kick him out only if he is being used to push an a gender that is contrary to the movement.
Besides, he is not part of the movement he is a concerned citizen who has earned that spot after speaking the truth to the authority, as we know those mofos hate the truth.
He shouldn't be compared with Segalinz that one is Judas, he is ready to sell out if his ego is not massaged or given credit for what each and everyone fought for.
Me too, approaching a good-looking classy girl that is well brought up and not those so-called classy girls that you know are a whole load of expenses is as scary as Bleep.
It boils down to self-esteem though
I was once in the midst of three to four girls that match those right qualities, fortunately they are my cousin's friends omo I froze, shivering, my speech was so limited. It wasn't funny.
I hope they settle the differences between the taxi drivers, whole sellers and not take Nigeria police/gvt approach that would be senseless and insensitive.
TMKsouth: The South African Police Service (SAPS) members have set upon Somali nationals’ shops in the coastal city of Gqeberha (formerly Port Elizabeth) after an eruption of violence saw several minibus taxis going up in flames on Wednesday.
The first scene of the violent chaos caught the public’s attention via a video posted on social media. It showed several taxis engulfed in flames during daylight on Durban Road.
The fiery disaster footage was soon followed by a report from a local radio station. It said the violent chaos was “an altercation between South African taxi drivers and Somalian shop owners.
“Police in Gqeberha and several other role-players are on scene at the taxi rank in Korsten where an altercation between taxi drivers and Somalian shop owners escalated. Several vehicles and a shop were set alight. This is a developing story image supplied,” the outlet said.
Another video that was shared on social media displayed what looked like Somali shop owners strolling down a road with heavy gun artillery.
With less than 24-hours since the carnage, SAPS officers headed for Somali-owned wholesale shops in Korsten with special mission guns in hands on Thursday.
A video has shown a large team of SAPS policemen raiding a building that resembles a wholesale shop before a man appeared to at the entrance to let the cops inside the property.
We can safely presume the location is where Somali shop owners could be hiding in safety from a possible attack from Gqeberha taxi drivers. Additionally, police could also be seen determined to arrest anyone who may be illegally possessing firearms as seen in the social media video.
Calm has since returned to the town although tensions remain.
If the matter is checked properly you would find that the Taxi drivers must have been the cause and the people who retaliated are terrorists by nature.
That retailer raised an issue of their rights been given to the taxi drivers, so there is a bone of contention that has not been sorted out, and instead of the police to investigate the causes of the violence, those responsible for burning vehicles/shops and those that are responsible for bearing arms and ammunition on both sides
He is just saying they have broken the law, who and who broke the law?
It must be looked at from both angles, the taxi drivers and shop owners
There must have been issues of intimidation and the police don't care or they are in support.
I am not sure that these reps or what fvcking ever are serious, we are in a society that our tax money does not alleviate poverty, now you guys want to tax the peasant carpenters? When you are done, don't forget to tax vulcanizers as well
Awon oloshi
If our tax money is used transparently and it's making life easy, I would have said after all it is working but no so what's the essence ?
I am not doubting her ordeal but how was she able to tell that they were Nigerians? And they are not some crazy dudes pretending to be Nigerians, Nigerians always take the fall for what they know and what they don't know, so unfair.
I have seen interviews where SAns accused Nigerians of some sort of crime but when you ask them how we're able to figure out that they were Nigs they will tell you to they just know.
That was how that guy in this movie EMPIRE lied against two Nigerians, they were arrested but later the truth was revealed, and the axxhole fell from grace
A man has been dragged by Facebook users for a post he made, calling on the Lagos State Government to introduce mode of dressing for women in the state, Reports.
As Sighted By , The man took a photo of an unsuspecting woman in public and posted it on Facebook.
He then condemned her appearance and asked that women's mode of dressing be regulated, Reports.
However, rather than get support, he got comments asking why he's obsessed with what a woman is wearing. Others asked why he took a photo of a woman going about her business.
Tokunbo Omolase said: "Special appeal to Governor Sanwo Olu: Kindly introduce mode of dressing for ladies in Lagos state, how can a lady dress like this at 8.04 am, Tuesday, 12th October, 2021 and leave New Garage Bariga in public commercial bus for Lekki in Lagos."
“If parents and family members are not checking mode of dressing should government avoid their responsibility for a good Society.”
KingOfAmebo: The question is, Since taxes are ment to cater for the development of a country as obtainable in developed nations, Why would our so called businessmen, politcians and clergymen chose to pay taxes "secretly" to economies of other countries while leaving the country they claim to love impoverished?
ntrukpum: Hello friends, my daughter is very far ahead of her peers (class mates and outsiders) academically and otherwise. She started school when she was 2yrs. 3wks in school she had already knw how to write 1 to 10, A to F (I mean write not just to read).
Now she is 3yrs and she does things extraordinary. She can write 1 to 200, Aa to Zz without anybody assistance. She does her H/W alone, can read and spell two letter words. She sings a lot. I wanted her to play at least one musical instrument b4 she turns 5.
Two yrs ago, I had this vision of grooming "exceptionally intelligent" kids btw 9-12yrs to study outside their normal school curriculum. I mean a 9yr old kid in JS1 answering physics and advance maths question. Am still working on it. But my child is just 3yrs old and i am begining to be afraid. Married with two kids, an average of 30k monthly income as a private school teacher, I think, I lack the financial resources to push my daughter to where she deserves.
I need proper advice on how to guide her now.
introduce her to coding, who knows she might end up as the next Bill Gates
SmartPolician: Please let's not devalue the naira because we run an import-dependent economy. If we devalue the naira, people will get poorer, crime rates will increase and prices of goods will rocket.
I don't know who advised Buhari but the worst decision he ever made was borrowing to invest in railways over epileptic electricity supply. We cannot experience industrial revolution with 3-5kmegawatts of electricity.
They want to finally wreck the Nig currency, instead of coming up with an agricultural framework that would help each region produce an agricultural product that they have comparative advantage, firing those custom bosses that are responsible for turning the ports to business ground and discouraging export. Focusing on making agriculture so attractive in a way that loan is easily accessible with little interests rate, spend on roads and cargo rail, fix electricity, and raise the bar in supporting small, large, and medium industries that converts agro product into finished goods, support manufacturers and encourage exports they want to devalue, easy way out with a lot of long time unfavorable repercussions.
This is not the first time Nig currency has been devalued, what has been the essence so far. When you devalue, as time goes on you would have to devalue again, us this not an artificial solution?
