I'll never support giving the Federal govt land for anything. They should invest in the private sectorsector and put proper regulations in place .. Government is never reliable. Just the right monetary stimulation will bring on an agricultural revolution. 1 Like |

Business / Typo Error On Retailer Website Almost Sold A Phone Of N120k For N20k by Kingbilo(m): 9:49am On Dec 24, 2015 |
Hi guys, so a funny thing happened to me yesterday and I'm sure several of you might have experienced the same either online or at a physical shop or supermarket. I was browsing through one of the biggest online mobile phone retailers in Nigeria when I came across the deal of a lifetime on a Sony Xperia z3. N20,000 only. Had it been any other online store, I would have overlooked this deal as a sham but this particular retailer is trusted nationwide. I put down an order for one unit immediately. I received an email a few minutes later confirming my order with the same N20,000 indicated. I was already planning on how to wrap this perfect Christmas gift for my loved one when, to my utter dismay, I received a call from the retailer informing me that the actual price of the phone was N120,000. I quickly refreshed the page on their website and found out they had corrected their error. Of course I immediately cancelled my order. Luckily it was "pay on delivery" so I didn't have to go through the long process of applying to get my money back. I have read articles on similar errors made in developed countries where the retailers were required to go through with the deals as long as a deal had been struck. My question is this.. When you catch a typographical error in an online store or even a supermarket or any service for that matter which obviously cheats the seller out of his own money do you think we as Nigerians have any standing to force the seller into going through with the deal? What would you do?

Politics / Re: Pat Utomi: '2016 Budget Process Is A Joke' by Kingbilo(m): 11:30am On Dec 23, 2015 |
Lol. It's been obvious for a while. There is no basis behind the numbers. People just make rough estimates based on last year and capital projects which have the numbers already written down.. No research into maintenance or even implementation of fiscal policies via the budget to stimulate the economy.. They have no ideaidea what the far reaching implications are of spending too much or too little in certain areas. No communication between relevant sectors. |

MindTwister: I don't think that's how it's done.. Maybe it's more a function of your estimated worth because if you charge bail based on money alleged to be stolen you are concluding the accused is guilty before trial.. If you the person has been wrongly accused and it's discovered he isn't guilty how can you account for charging bail that the innocent person can't pay? |

Actually if i were a governor, busy up and about, I'd rather put something on that takes 5 minutes than suit that takes 30 mins, needs dry cleaning and will cause heat.. Crime / Oscar Pistorius Conviction Changed To Murder by Kingbilo(m): 10:21am On Dec 03, 2015 |
Oscar Pistorius' conviction for killing his girlfriend has been changed from manslaughter to murder. An appeals judge said the original verdict was "flawed" and the athlete will now be re-sentenced by the original court and will almost certainly go back to jail A murder conviction carries a much heftier sentence: a minimum of 15 years in South Africa. Justice Leach said Pistorius must have foreseen that firing into the small toilet cubicle would have led to death - but went ahead anyway. Reeva Steenkamp's mother, June, closed her eyes but remained silent as the decision was read out in the Bloemfontein court. The athlete is currently under house arrest at his uncle's luxurious home in Pretoria after serving less than a year for killing his girlfriend on Valentine's Day 2013. Pistorius had said he accidentally shot dead his girlfriend after believing there was an intruder in his house. Ambode, Give that boy scholarship On a serious note, well done to the pilot.. Sharp thinking there.. As for the airport authorities thank God you caught him but he should not have made it that far in the first place.. Too many stories of people invading the tarmac.. This is a very very sensitive period as regards national security and it's quite appalling a man could make it all the way to a departing aircraft without being spotted. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Politics / Re: Buhari And Fg’s 20,000 Abandoned Projects- NEWSWATCH by Kingbilo(m): 9:07am On Nov 28, 2015 |
This can actually be seen as a great opportunity... One of the best methods to kick-start an economy is to fund public projects which can put income into the hands of Nigerians who can maximise multiplier effect. Put money into the hands of those at the grassroots willing to spend naira on domestic goods.. It's really simple. Take a cue from the 2008 US financial crisis..part of the US solution was funding public projects.. Building bridges, railroads etc. That's how fiscal policy works Benefits of public projects is not just practical viability.. It's also a means to protect the economy by balancing spending power of the common Nigerian citizen. We need cashcash in-house to keep this economy going. It's not by just fixing interbank rates and banning foreign trade. Attack the problem from all sides please! Buhari needs to take this opportunity. Source out those projects and reboot them.. If the government wants to keep its hold on Nigerias main source of revenue it needs to realise that it has a responsibility to put citizens of this country to productive use at every opportunity. 5 Likes |

Politics / Re: Latest IMF Figures Show Nigeria As World's 22nd Largest Economy by Kingbilo(m): 6:32pm On Nov 26, 2015 |
But this means nothing.. The size of an economy has no bearing on the wealth of its citizens.. Check that list and you probably won't see half of the wealthiest per capita countries in there.. Real health of the economy for people is measured in: - GDP per capita - Employment rates - adequate budget Deficit and debt management - Price stability. The size of the economy doesn't matter.. If it's shit, it's a big pile of shit Stop being deceived by meaningless stats. 3 Likes |

Travel / Re: My Near Crash Experience With Arik Air Yesterday by Kingbilo(m): 3:15pm On Nov 26, 2015 |
But this sounds like a lie.. No way the news would not have got out that a plane made an emergency landing on an international runway with 2 burst tires... The pyrotechnics would have been spectacular or at least smokey The pilot told the passengers they could have caught fire? Seriously? That's quite irresponsible of him to cause further panic and unrest for the passengers.. Silly rookie mistake for someone experienced enough to land with one engine and a burst tire The passengers got off the aircraftaircraft and immediately went to PAY for another flight when obviously Arik will either refund them or get another flight ready? Na Richard Branson and Dangote full flight? 2 Likes |
