Misplaced protest, shoprite belongs to individuals and not South African government. Secondly establishment of the department store in Nigeria is a form of foreign direct investment especially as regards job creation. These students should channel their grievances to Nigerian government and demand for diplomatic action against South Africa.

You think lawyers are 419,one day you will be a victim of Police or any other law enforcement high handedness,then you will realize that lawyers are not 419.This is not about Ricky Tarfa or lawyers,but this is about dignity of persons and respect for the law as no person or organization is above the law.

i concur with your position,my problem with the Nigerian Police is that they arraign persons in court without credible evidence which will help them to successfully prosecute the accused persons. In the instant case, the elements of rape cannot be proved from the story above.The only indisputable fact is that there was sexual intercourse,but it is unsettled whether the sexual intercourse was voluntary or otherwise. Though the girl being a minor cannot consent to sexual activities,but the age of the accused person is also material.

Most stories regarding rape in Nigeria don't add up. She stated that "she was sleeping and the boy came and raped her". How come the grandfather (Mr Richard) did not hear her scream or their struggle?

Most cases turn rape when they (ladies) are exposed by pregnancy or when guys do not meet up with their agreement (olosho).

I know a guy in PH that was framed by his girl friend, all because her original fiancé caught them.

i think the protest is belated it would have been more effective if it had taken place before implementation of the increment.In fairness to fellow Nigerians the increment will further worsen the economic woes of Nigerians

The dictatorial tendency of EFCC is begging for attention,the continuous detention of Ricky Tarfa without bail or arraignment should be condemned by any right thinking Nigerian.We are in grave danger if the EFCC can arrest and detain anyone without reasonable reason.The allegation against Ricky Tarfa is that he obstructed an EFCC agent while the agent was making effort to arrest his client within the court premises.Be as it may,the Nigerian Police is saddled with prosecuting offense of this nature, while the EFCC was created solely to fight financial crime.If the EFCC has any problem with Ricky Tarfa they should hand him over to the Police.
