Most people die in accident not because of the accident itself but more as a result of time taken before medical assistance arrives. This is the difference between life and death in most accident. Sometimes people conclude that because someone looks lifeless means he or she is dead.

Dont allow your pastor deceive you with the verse in malachi.
Some churches now dont wed members if they dont have an updated tithe card. Stay away from such churches that places so much emphasis on tithe and prosperity. I would rather use the word donation as i am obligated to assist in the upkeeping of my church. Not an enforced 10% of my income or if i dont pay i wont prosper .

They had no option because most members were going to pentecostal churches to tithe, so they reluctantly had to introduce it

Growing up as a child , there was nothing like tithe and then there were a lot of magicians on the street doing magic to earn a living.
