About a month ago, the nation woke up to the shocking news of a devastating attack on Anambra State resulting in the burning down of radio and television stations, hotels, vehicles, assembly quarters, the residence of the state Chief Judge and finally, Government House, Awka. Dynamite was even applied in the exercise and all or nearly most of these in the full glare of our own police force as shown on NTA for the world to see. The operation lasted three days.
That week, in all churches and mosques, we, our party, and you as Head of Government and Leader of this Nation came under the most scathing and blithering attacks. We were singly and severally accused of connivance in action and so forth. Public anger reached its peak.

Recommendation

You set up a reconciliation committee headed by Ebonyi State Governor, Dr. Sam Egwu, and we all thought this would help calm nerves and perhaps bring about some respite. But quite clearly things are nowhere near getting better.
While the reconciliation team attempted to inspect damaged sites in Anambra, they were scared away by gun fire, further heightening public anger and disdain for us.

Bomb explosion in government house, Awka

On Tuesday, the 30th day of November, 2004, another shocking development – a reported bomb explosion in Government House Awka. Since then, the media, public discourse within and even outside of our borders, have been dominated by the most heinous and hateful of expletives against our party and your person and government. It would appear that the perpetrators of these acts are determined to stop at nothing since there has not been any visible sign of reproach from law enforcement agencies. I am now convinced that the rumours and speculations making the rounds that they are determined to kill Dr. Chris Ngige may not be unfounded.
The question now is, what would be the consequences of such a development? How do we exonerate ourselves from culpability, and worse still, how do we even hope to survive it? Mr. President, I was part of the second republic and we fell. Memories of that fall are a miserable litany of woes we suffered, escaping death only by God’s supreme mercy. Then we were suspected to have stolen all of Nigeria’s wealth. After several months in prison, some of us were freed to come back to life penniless and wretched. Many have gone to their early graves un-mourned because the public saw us all as renegades.

I am afraid we are drifting in the same direction again. In life, perception is reality and today, we are perceived in the worst light by an angry, scornful Nigerian Public for reasons which are absolutely unnecessary.
Mr. President, if I write in this vein, it is because I am deeply troubled and I can tell you that an overwhelming percentage of our party members feel the same way though many may never be able to say this to you for a variety of reasons.

But the back stops at your table and in my position, not only as Chairman but also as an old friend and loyal defender of your development programmes which I have never stopped defending, I dare to think that we can, either by omission or commission allow ourselves to crash and bring to early grief, this beautiful edifice called democracy.

On behalf of the peoples Democratic Party, I call on you to act now and bring any, and all criminal, even treasonable, activity to a halt. You and you alone, have the means. Do not hesitate. We do not have too much time to waste.

Beleaguered National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Audu Ogbeh resigned on Sunday – with a gun virtually to his head.

Ogbeh himself broke the news to the media in Abuja on Monday, citing the need to forge party cohesion as reason. But Daily Sun authoritatively learnt that the resignation was by no means voluntary, having been obtained under duress by President Olusegun Obasanjo.

The chain of events that culminated in the weekend resignation began this way: The President had breezed into Ogbeh’s house around midnight on Saturday, asking the chairman rather gruffly why he had not resigned after he had earlier promised he was going to do so.

Ogbeh replied that he was still consulting and Obasanjo wanted to know when the consultation would end. When the former replied that he was still consulting, the President stormed out.
By 7.00 on Sunday morning, Audu Ogbeh was summoned to the Presidential Villa, given a sheet of paper on which to write his resignation, and he did.
He told his supporters privately yesterday that he threw in the towel at that point because he had become concerned for his life, the future of the PDP and democracy in the country.

"I did it under duress," he reportedly said. "I was not of a free mind and I do not even have a copy of the letter for myself. The kind of pressure brought on me was so much that it could easily lead to the loss of my life. The other side seemed so desperate."
The ex-chairman further said what he saw in the PDP in the past few weeks was not his own conception of politics, stressing: "It had become so deadly. I would rather be out of it and do something else with my life."

The resignation will be due by February 28.
Ogbeh’s resignation in the early hours of Sunday was the climax of power play and intrigues that began last month, following his letter to President Obasanjo on the state of affairs within the party, including the Anambra crisis.

Ogbeh by his resignation becomes the first chairman of the party whose tenure was prematurely cut short before expiration. He was due to leave office in November, this year at the party’s elective convention.
The hawks within the party, it seems, couldn’t wait any longer. And they struck.
Daily Sun gathered that the absence of Vice-President Atiku Abubakar from the country may have aided this last move to oust the party chairman who had survived two previous plots. The vice-president at the time of the ‘coup’ against Ogbeh was on official assignment in Kenya with the National Security Adviser to the president, General Aliyu Gusau [rtd].

In fact, Daily Sun sources at the state house, confirmed that the vice-president was disturbed by the development that he closed from office by 2pm Monday.
Ironically, Ogbeh denied he resigned under duress but said he had to quit for peace to reign in the party.
"With effect from February, I will not be chairman anymore. That’s all… I have been thinking of it. Let the party be at peace and grow and assert itself. I want the party to move on in harmony not in disharmony. That is why I resigned, " Ogbeh told newsmen at his residence, even as he struggled to keep a calm countenance.
Surrounded by a motley of aides, Ogbeh, dressed in a white caftan said that by resigning, he was not running away from any probe.

"Prosecution? No way. NEC will set up a committee to check its accounts because those who have been speaking on the party’s accounts do not know how party funds are managed. They have gone to the press but many of them participated in programmes which consumed a lot of money. But they have spoken. We will also speak," Ogbeh assured.

When Daily Sun visited Wadata House, PDP’s national secretariat, it looked deserted. Only a few staff of the secretariat were seen around in small groups discussing the latest development in the party. Some of them who spoke on condition of anonymity were only concerned about their unpaid monetisation allowances, and not who becomes the party’s next chairman.

It could not be ascertained what becomes of the National Working Committee [NWC] with the exit of Ogbeh. But by the party’s constitution, the deputy vice-chairman, North, Alhaji Ibrahim Safana is expected to take over the affairs of the party in an acting capacity.
In fact, Ogbeh confirmed as much when he spoke to journalists at his residence Monday. "The deputy chairman North is supposed to act when the chairman is not around. Later, the party will decide what it wants."

At Ogbeh’s residence, the atmosphere was serene, devoid of the usual beehive of activities. In fact, the security guards who kept saying that "oga no wan see anybody now" turned two Chinese visitors away. Only the FCT Minister Nasir el-Rufai was allowed to see Ogbeh. He was said to have arrived the residence at 11am and left at 1pm.

The simmering feud between Ogbeh and Obasanjo had become a public affair with a December 6, 2004 letter written by the former in which he warned on the situation in Anambra State, saying it could imperil the nation and her democracy unless the presidency acted decisively.
Ogbeh decried a situation in which the Dr. Chris Ngige–led government had been held at the throat by Chief Chris Uba and his cohorts, saying it appeared that the governor’s adversaries enjoyed the sympathy of the presidency.

The national chairman’s letter was leaked to the media, followed by Obasanjo’s reply, in which the President accused Ogbeh of bad faith and treachery. Since then, the PDP had been polarized down the middle, broken into pro-Obasanjo and pro-Ogbeh camps.
A meeting of the National Executive Council (NEC) held on Tuesday last week, in which it was expected that Ogbeh would be forced to resign.

Surprisingly, however, a seeming truce was brokered and the two leaders left in the same vehicle, with the President going for lunch in Ogbeh’s house. But on Sunday, Obasanjo came out with another trick from the fireman’s bag, thus speeding the PDP further on the path of disintegration.
Before Ogbeh, Obasanjo had seen to the exit of founding PDP chairman, Chief Solomon Lar, and Chief Barnabas Gemade who succeeded him.

It baffles me when i see groom appears with all manner of colours on wedding day while most bride maintain their white as a sign of purity(virgin). After going through wedding pics of old(70s and 80s) and realized that our dads and grand dads usually appear with a neat black suits and a white shirt with a bow/long tie on it or at most white suit, i begin to wonder what and where fashion is driving us to, knowing fully well that most people will base their reason(s) for ''colour rioting'' on fashion.
Nowadays, we see men with purple suits and pink or lemon shirt with a red tie or yellow suit with black shirt n a green tie, i cry when i see how fashion has turn our young men into VICTIM OF FASHION instead of symbol of fashion, some goes as far as wearing the colours of the flowers the wife is holding in her hands while, some wear the colour of the day on behalf of their wife who could not do so. Please, let go back home to history and check out decent fashion suitable for specific occasions, not appearing with costumes made for the stage in the name of fashion, cause though change is inevitable, doesn't mean it should be abuse, I rest my matter.

It was so much fun to me watching Gov. Chibuike Amaechi having swell time at the burial ceremony of late Mrs Oba the mother to the president's wife Mrs PEJ, in spite of the political rift between the Governor and Mr President. Then I began to wonder why the perceived prodigal son was dancing more than the bereaved and where was his best friend the almighty education minister?
Cause that kind of excitement displayed by Gov Amaechi could speak differently in the ears and heart of some people who might feel threaten by such act, with regards to the fact that it was alleged that Mr president, Gov Amaechi and Gov Dickson boarded the same chopper to Okirika were the burial was to take place.

That the minister of aviation popularly called “Madam Princess” is in some trouble is not in doubt and hasn’t been for the past one or two weeks. She had it coming in my opinion and she played right into the hands of her detractors. Every political office holder in Nigeria has three broad categories of enemies. The first are those who want you, your principal and your political party out of power and will do all to discredit you just to make all the others look bad. The second are those who want you out of office because even though they support your principal and your political party, they feel you are not worthy to occupy the position you occupy. The third category are those whose financial, professional and survival interests are threatened by your occupying the office and they include contractors and civil servants whose toes you are bound to step on even if you stand still and they run into you from behind: you’re a stumbling block all the same.
It shouldn’t be any surprise to the reader that although this particular act of corruption took place several months back, it didn’t surface until there was a smaller crisis in the matter of the Agagu dead body plane crash which Madam Princess described as an ‘act of God’. That this scandal has broken so soon after that smaller scandal is not a coincidence but a deliberate media news manipulation to portray her as a woman who cannot get herself out of trouble or who casts her principal and his government in a bad light; her three broad categories of enemies who have this one permanent interest have aligned and will do all they can to see her out
Now, let look at the Man called Dino Melaye, is the one who alerted us to the overpricing of the cars by the way – he claims he got both of his at just NGN100m after serving Nigeria at the lowest level of the elected/political arm of the Federal Government which is the House of Representatives for a single term of four years(A man with no company nor Industry). His most notable achievement I can recall was when he fought tooth and nail to protect his principal from being impeached. How the man is even able to afford cars of which just two are worth a hundred million naira beats my imagination,where he got such amount of money from is an issue Nigerians should look at critically. Why he has to talk about it at this time shows his mentality and my dislike for his HYPOCRISY is only equal to my dislike for FFK. Dino is a professional not only on the price of bulletproof cars but also governmental CORRUPTION. This man once granted an interview where he said:
“This woman [that is, former speaker Patricia Etteh] told us, on the floor of the House, that she’s got two boobs. That the old [House Members] can suck one while the new would suck one. Honestly speaking, we are sucking. We are enjoying the sucking. We are doing that right now.”
And the man never blushed while mouthing that rubbish.
Dino’s then principal (I wonder who he fights for these days), was under fire for CORRUPTION just as Stella Oduah is and she was eventually impeached.Then i sit back to ponder why a Man who stood steadfastly for a CORRUPT Principal is busy castigating another, even when it is written that he who goes to Equity must do that with clean Hands. Please Dino and his like should tell Nigerians what he's doing with a bulletproof car and his source of wealth which we all know is LOOTs from taxpayers money as well.

The ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) yesterday lambasted the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) for being hypocritical on corruption especially on its criticism of the bullet proof cars purchased for the minister of aviation, Stella Oduah.
The party described said,the APC is a stinking sepulchre. The party is the headquarters of corruption in Nigeria. This is a party whose leaders relish in stinking miasma but artfully turning blind eyes to it.
They however go megaphonic when other political parties are involved. Hardly can you point at any of its leaders without a heavy baggage. In fact, the governors and leaders of the of the APC have been involved in bulletproof car deals more scandalous than that at the aviation ministry, but this is conspicuously missing on the sermon list of these false evangelists of good governance.”
The party added: “The speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly is still standing trial for acts of corruption, yet it is not discussed. In Ekiti , Ogun, Oyo, Edo and Osun , bridges and road contacts are outrageously inflated and the masses daily pauperised with the APC conniving in silence,” Metuh said in the statement.
On the fate of the aviation minister who spent an unapproved and inflated sum to purchase the N255 million bulletproof BMW cars, the party says Stella Oduah, is on her own.

My luv for this guy called Dino keep increasing by the day,I just like him so much, after having a little inside of who he's from his school mate in the university, i then realized that he's a smart ass fellow who knws what he want and how to get it by using jobless and ill-informed Nigerian youths to achieve those things like "His 2015 Senatorial campaign" and his so called human right campaign.
Am waiting to see patiently how he will intermarry both after winning election into the national assembly by 2015 to meet his old looting colleagues. The attempt by police in Enugu to nip in the bud the fast growing trend of baby selling has yielded some positive results.
Men of the state police command, over the weekend, apprehended one Ifeoma Obike, a hair dresser, her lover and two other persons following allegations of their involvement in child selling, also called “baby factory business”.
Obike, a native of Oguta in Imo State, has reportedly been using a hair salon located on Chime Avenue, Enugu, as a facade to cover up for her actual “business” which is selling babies.
According to reports, when the police visited her residence on Saturday on Mbanefo Street in New Haven, where she was resident with her live-in-lover, they found a pregnant lady. The victim, whose identity was given as Ujunwa Egbe, from Ituku in Awgu Local Government Area of the state, was reported to have been taken into custody by the lovers, with a promise that she would be paid N100, 000 upon delivery of the baby.
The state’s police spokesman, Ebere Amaraizu, who confirmed the arrest, stated that “Obike combines the lucrative business of baby factory with the hair salon business.” He said, “She was nabbed alongside someone she identified as her would-be husband, a patent medicine dealer, a self acclaimed doctor and a pregnant girl on the verge of delivery.
“Obike was not a relative of Ujunwa Egbe, the pregnant girl, who has been in her custody waiting to be delivered of a baby and to be paid off with the sum of N100, 000.” It was learnt that Egbe had told the police that she was impregnated by someone unknowingly and had wanted to abort the pregnancy. She was quoted as saying that when she met one Obinna Arum of Obofia Amechi Awkunanaw, for abortion, he advised her to keep the baby.
The advice, according to her, came after several attempts to get rid of the baby failed.
Amaraizu said, “Arum linked Egbe with Obike to take care of her and the pregnancy. She was to be paid N100, 000 after delivery for her to forfeit the baby.” Also arrested was one Chidi Meniru of Ezeagu, who claimed to be a medical doctor with a clinic on Amechi Street in New Haven, Enugu.
Meniru denied being a member of the syndicate, but said he had in the past delivered a certain girl of her baby under an agreement with the other suspects. Ifeoma’s lover, Obike, who said he hailed from Isiukwuato in Abia State, told the police that they had four kids, though yet to be married formally.
The police, however, said full investigations had commenced on the incident.

A blind man, Shaibu Ibrahim, 26, on Tuesday dragged Shehu Sarki, another blind man to a Grade 1 Area Court, Aso Pada, Mararaba, Nasarawa State. News Agency of Nigeria reports that Ibrahim accused Sarki, 32, his friend and the chairman of the blind peoples’ association of the area of allegedly enticing his wife, Lami Ibrahim, 23.

He said, “Sometime in June, our chairman, Sarki, helped me to get a woman, Lami, for marriage. “After our marriage in July, Sarki later enticed my wife and took her away from my house. “I later discovered that my wife is staying in one of his rooms and he has been sleeping with her.”The offence was said to have contravened Section 389 of the Penal Code, and if convicted, the accused could spend two years in prison.
