FoodHow To Boil Beans Quicker by kingkoboko(op): 1:09pm On Aug 21, 2013
Ok. I was cookin brown beans dis mornin & it tooks almost 2hrs to boil. Upon sey I put ginger inside o! Cos my female frnd once told me it makes beans boil quicker.

By d way, there was dis big white beans I used to buy in Awka few yrs ago dat usually took a short time to boil. I think it was called "iron beans". Why does brown beans take so long?

Believe it or not, my mum usually puts a big nail (carpenter own. No b fingernail o) into her pot of beans to help it boil quicker. She removes d nail before addin any oil & ingredients. But I dey fear sey dat method no dey safe.

So pls cud anyone suggest other ways of makin beans boil quicker. E go help me save time plus my kerosene or gas abeg, biko, ejo, mbok.

Moreova, I luv eatin beans.

8. MASTURBATE DON'T ADULTERATE
M.ast.urbation is better than adultery. Keep that at d front & back of ur mind before u marry. Remember also that konji generally affects we men more than women so don't expect ur wife to be ready for jigijigi or kwokirikwo anytime wey e dey hungry u. That is when d soap or vaseline comes in handy. *winks*

9. LISTEN TO GOD NOT UR PASTOR
"She is destined to be ur wife" Na lie!!! "She is ur only missin rib on earth" Na wash!!! There are many false prophets & fake pastors connivin with desperate single women out there o! Its best for u to kneel down by urself & ask God to show u ur wife. U could ask Him to do this by using a very clear sign & u must never ever reveal d sign u asked God to show u to anyone. That na how Abraham servant find Rebecca for Isaac abi?

SO NA WETIN UNA TINK BOUT MY ADVICE NA? E MAKE SENSE?

5. COMMAND HER
Women luv men who can command them. It doesn't matter if she's older than u or richer or more powerful or feminist. U should only marry a woman who respects u. Luv & respect are almost inseparable when it comes to women. She can respect u without lovin u but she can't luv u without respectin u.

6. DON'T MARRY A LIABILITY
Being a housewife is good but being a housewife & workin woman is better. What if u lose ur source of income or worse still, die, what then happens to ur children? Marry a woman who can be ur life insurance. Besides, u won't like it when she asks u for N5 to buy pure water.

7. HOPE FOR "HAPPILY-EVER-AFTER" BUT PREPARE FOR DIVORCE
I personally, professionally, romantically (Psquare, make una no vex o!) don't believe in "till death do us part". This is because u could end up dying of high blood pressure if u remain with an unrepentant cheating or abusive woman. On d other hand, u could end up commitin murder. Isn't divorce better than those worse options?
RomanceAdvice for Future Husbands by kingkoboko(op): 4:08pm On Aug 16, 2013
1st of all, by "husband-material", I mean a man or young man who's ready for marriage.

2ndly, I neva marry o! Dis na just my personal suggestions.

Ok,
1. NEVER TELL A WOMAN WHAT U HATE IN A WOMAN
Women ar natural pretenders. So if u make d mistake of tellin her what u hate, she only do d things u luv so as become ur wife. Jst allow her display her good & bad sides freely so u can know her fully before proposin.

2. TEST HER
Do all u can to test her in everyway. E.g, give her little money to prepare food to observe how economical she can be.

3. INTRODUCE HER TO UR MOM, SISTERS OR OTHER FEMALE RELATIONS
I say this because women can read their fellow women like books. If ur female relation, esp ur mom, dislikes ur wife-to-be, u better ask her why & be careful o!

4. LEARN HOW TO COOK
It's very important for every man to know how to cook o! It'l save u from over-dependence on ur wife for food. And incase u end up marryin a foreigner, u can teach her how to prepare ur favorite meals.

What kind of orientational drive will change that when almost the whole country think that way?

PoliticsWhy Are Nigerian Women So Apolitical? by kingkoboko(op): 8:51am On Jul 31, 2013
Ok! Just this morning I was telling my uncle's wife how a pastor prophesied about Tinubu's death & she asked me "Who's Tinubu?" I talked about other politicians & she was lost as well.

I have noticed this apolitical syndrome in Nigerian women. They lack interest in politics. Tell me, how many times have you seen a Nigerian woman watching news? No be entertainment news I mean o! *winks* How many times have you heard a Nigerian woman gossiping about Fashola or Jonathan?

Why are Nigerian women so uninterested in politics?

I must confess that I've actually met a few Nigerian women who I can discuss politics with. And it turns me on in a way I can't explain. *winks* But then, they're so hard to find. *sighs*

Most would rather discuss Jim Iyke, Kim Kardashan, Brazilian hair, romance etc. Why? Even the women in tertairy institutions.

I think Nigerian women need to start showing more interest in politics o! Especially as they are proven to be less corrupt & more selfless in public positions than men.

Christianity EtcSharia In The Church by kingkoboko(op): 2:23pm On Jul 28, 2013
Ok o! I went to a nearby Assemblies of God Church here in Ijaniki today & I noticed a Sharia sitting arrangement of their congregation. As soon as you walk in, you see the fathers & elderly men seated at the left row. The young men were seated on the row beside them. Then at the right rows are the mothers & young women. As for the children, they seem to have their own children's corner outside.

My question is: Is the segregration of sexes neccesary? Is it a sin for men & women to have a mixed seating arrangement in church?

I first noticed this Sharia seating arrangement at a Grace of God Church in Onitsha but I wasn't expecting to see something similar in Lagos of all places.

Abeg, my people make una put mouth for this matter o!
Nairaland GeneralIgbo soldiers, avoid the upcoming Nigerian Coup by kingkoboko(op):
Aug 2020

There has been a coup in Mali recently. The Malian people seem to be happy with the coup-plotters for overthrowing their democratic government.

Nigerian Marlians are all over Nairaland & social media mocking Nigerian soldiers for not acting like their Malian counterparts. The same cowardly Nigerian youths that refuse to come out to protest bad governance for fear of arrest by the DSS & police are the ones mocking Nigerian soldiers for maintaining discipline by not interfering with our corrupt democracy. Hahaha...

It's not a laughing matter though because i believe some radical soldiers are watching & have noticed how Nigerians are clamoring for a coup before 2023.

However, before u call King kObOkO a prophet of doom, i'm on my knees begging Igbo soldiers to avoid participating in any coup please, abeg, biko, ejo, mbok. The Nigerian media will easily magnify any Igbo name they find among the coup-plotters and quickly tag it another Igbo coup. Una still remember 1966 & Nzeogwu abi?

Igbo soldiers, be wiser. Don't make yourselves & the Igbo people scape-goats again.

Ok. I was watching WWE today & saw Justin Gabriel, a South African wrestler. We all know Koffi Kingston, the Ghanaian wrestler. But what about Nigeria? Why is there no Nigerian wrestler on WWE?

I ask this question cos I know that so many Nigerians enjoy watching wrestling. Moreover, with our huge population/viewership (probably over 50million Nigerian watch WWE), won't having a Nigerian wrestling sensation benefit WWE?

UR LAUGHTA MEANS A LOT 2 ME, MY QUEEN.

LiteratureI Am A Male-feminist!!! by kingkoboko(op):
The first time I made this statement in public was at Ukamaka Olisakwe’s first book reading in Yaba Lagos Nigeria. You should’ve seen how all eyes were on me like I was some Tupac singing “All Eyes on Me” He he he… The host confessed that he’d never heard such a thing before. Ukamaka professed that I was a radical. I was impressed that I’d surprised them.

But I didn’t say “I am a male-feminist” just to cause surprise. I said it because Ukamaka’s awesome book “Eyes of a Goddess” was partly about a woman who became the man of the house or head of the family. I was a little annoyed that this woman’s husband seemed to lose his manly dignity because his wife began to shoulder the financial responsibilities of their home. I was relieved when after making my controversial statement, a young lady commented saying that a man who loses his dignity for such a reason may not have had any dignity in the first place. Of course, I nodded in agreement.

The reality of modern times is that more & more women are earning more than their male counterparts. Why don’t my fellow men accept that reality & adjust to it? Why do husbands, African husbands in particular, feel inferior whenever their wives gain more economic power? Do we men realise that society has chained women down in poverty & subservience for centuries? Does our sudden inferiority complex suggest that we miss those centuries of male superiority, chauvinism, patriarchy & machismo? Shouldn’t we rather rejoice that women are gaining their long-awaited, well-deserved freedoms?

I’m one of the African men who dance for joy at the freedom of African women. Although there’s one thing which really saddens me. Actually, two things. First is the fact that most people, even some women, misunderstand & demonise feminism. They’d aggressively argue that feminism seeks female domination of men. They’d shout that there’s no room for feminism in Africa. Alas, my African brothers & sisters, fathers & mothers, that is not feminism!

A dictionary defines feminism as a “movement supporting equal rights for women” or “the belief & aim that women should have the same rights & opportunities as men.” The key words are “equal” or “same.” Think about those words. Men & women can be equal though they’re not the same. Boys & girls are born equal & the same except in their private parts. Adam & Eve were equal companions created by the same God.

God! That brings me to the second thing that saddens me. Religion! The question of God’s sex. Is God a He or a She? Or is God androgynous or hermaphrodite? Especially when we consider Christ’s answer to the Sadduccees in Matthew 22 “How wrong you are… For when the dead rise to life, they will be like the angels in heaven & will not marry.” However, it gets confusing when we remember that angels bear masculine names like Michael, Gabriel, Raphel & that Christ addresses God as “Our Father”. Or could that term “Father” be more of a verb than a noun in God’s case?

Then again, the question of creation. Why does the creation account in Genesis 1 contradict that of Genesis 2? Genesis 1 reads “So God created human beings, making them male & female” while Genesis 2 tells of Adam being created first & alone even though God brought male & female animals to be named by him. Is it possible that the writer of Genesis allowed his Jewish agenda of male dominance to bias Genesis 2? It seems to me that God’s original plan was of equality & mutuality.

Yet, even if God cursed the woman saying “…you will still have desire for your husband & HE SHALL RULE OVER THEE”, didn’t Christ come to break the curse on all humanity? Doesn’t Christianity teach that Christ is a blessing & the new Adam? Why then do too many Christians stubbornly cling onto that curse of male dominance? When will African christians finally accept that women are now blessed to be equal with men?

And even if you aren’t a Christian, does your religion place women under a similar curse? Are you sure that the patriarchs of your religion did not distort & still distorting God’s plan of equality & mutuality with their own male biases? Why can’t we all live in mutual respect between both sexes? In equal rights for men & women?

I like the wise Chinese philosophy of balance between light & dark, male & female, yin & yang. I believe in such balance. Not patriarchy! Not matriarchy! Not male superiority or female superiority! I believe that women should be free to live in equality with men.

Quoting from Things Fall Apart:
“The world is large,” said Okonkwo. “I have even heard that in some tribes a man’s children belong to his wife & her family”
“That cannot be,” said Machi. “You might as well say that the woman lies on top of the man when they are making the children.”

Sorry Machi! The world has changed. Old things have fallen apart. New things are falling into place. Women are now lying & sitting on top. And men like me are loving & welcoming it.

I am an African male-feminist! Get used to it!
