Although the title sounds more like a cliché, it is certainly true for your definition of success. Happiness is pretty much relative and perhaps more of your state of wellbeing or rather where you choose to live psychologically and mentally.

I once had a simple argument with a friend over our emotions and how that people respond to the same situations (given that all things are equal) differently. What would literally break someone wouldnt make another flinch. Bottom line is if true happiness is actually linked to certain things in our lives then it becomes difficult to define happiness. Ever wondered why people have mood swings or multiple personalities?

Unbroken happiness might seem somewhat hypothetical but what i think is a bore is the fact that we all want to have new experiences not necessarily ups and downs. Now the absence of anything new to excite us tends to bring the feeling of boredom.

You actually made a very valid point. Gone through the case you cited "r v offiong" and also "Jegede vs the state". In which the accused was alleged to have grabbed a 13year old girl and raped her in a disused toilet. He was convicted of rape at the trial court because there was substantial medical evidence proving penetration.

However after taking the case to the appeal court he got convicted for attempted rape. He further took the case to the supreme court and they made three valid points for an accused to be guilty of rape, one of which states that the penetration must be linked with the appelant irrespective of whether the plantiff is a minor or an adult. I guess this is where semen_ residue and DNA test would provide that link.

Another valid point made was that to constitute an attempted rape the act has to be immediately connected to the commission of the particular offence charged and must be something more than "mere preparation", which proves you are definitely right.

I don't think the criminal code makes reference to adultery being a criminal offence but rather a reasonable ground for the dissolution of the marriage. Adultery on the other hand must be voluntary.

However this case looks somewhat different although firstly the suspect has definitely broken his work place ethics by seducing his bosses wife. From my understanding of the court system, it isn't really looking for the truth rather it's a "display of facts pageant" with the better side taking the day.

Perhaps the wife had initially reported the issue to her husband and the husband had in turn filed a complaint with the police. The suspect could bag himself a sexual harassment suit by default.

Since it is relatively difficult to prove and the law tends to lean in favour of the lady in most cases, it would be difficult for his defense to establish that he was invited over for a mutual affair.

I think he could be framed for attempted rape and sexual harassment based on the premise of circumstantial evidence.

So in summary he is in deep shit_

And yeah I speak pidgin too but that's because of the mentality you guys have,terming those who opt to speak English as patronizers of a borrowed language
Pigdin English has a way of making the speaker look tout-like and irresponsible

You actually do have a point though. Pidgin is cool and i kinda speak it daily but it definitely has an effect on your delivery and communication of the English language if used constantly.

For those critising Op, there is absolutely nothing wrong in wishing or wanting someone to communicate with you in a language you prefer.

That's the more reason relationships should be defined. Your goals both short and long, plans for the future. A lady can't simply assume because he is hitting it, he has the intention of settling down with her.

People don't necessarily date because they want to settle down. Some date for companionship, for satisfying their sexual desires or just for the fun of it. The biggest mistake you can make as a lady is to assume that he wants to make you his bride because he isn't using a condom. For goodness sake you don't need Einstein to tell you that the pleasure derived from unprotected sex supercedes protected sex.

Impregnating the lady isn't always the goal in most cases rather an unfortunate/fortunate happenstance.

With the benefit of hindsight i am thinking she probably wanted to cancel the date which was why she initiated the chat. Perhaps something came up and she wanted to inform you earlier so you don't get stood up by 8 which would have been pretty much annoying.

You could have just told her where you worked and then added that you couldn't chat atm rather than ignoring her question twice while you had enough time to type a 15 words response. If a lady did same to you, trust me you wouldn't like it.

I suggest you try reaching her later to find out why rather than assume she is trying to weigh her options.
