Nigeria lists conditions to reopen borders with neighbours
Border Closure: Nigeria's neighbours to blame - Finance Minister
Nigeria
Wase sworn-in as Deputy Speaker of ECOWAS Parliament
Jonathan's policy on 'tokunbo' cars must be reversed – Senator
The first deputy speaker of the ECOWAS parliament, Ahmed Wase, said Nigeria has started reaping the fruits of its temporary border closure.
He said this during the second ordinary session of ECOWAS Parliament on Wednesday.
Mr Wase said, “Nigeria has started seeing some changes in terms of security advantages.”
”Before the border was closed, terrorist-groups concealed their arms inside rice but the border closure has improved that security challenge,” he said.
Sadiq Ibrahim, who presented Nigeria’s country report on behalf of Mr Wase, also said ECOWAS has adopted Nigeria’s position on the border closure.
He said that Nigeria will not open its borders until neighbouring countries are ready to comply fully with the ECOWAS Trade Liberalisation Scheme (ETLS).
Although it has been misinterpreted by neighbouring countries that Nigeria is trying to cripple them economically, Mr Ibrahim explained that Nigeria is trying to grow its local production.
He disputed comments made by some African countries who were bent on convincing Nigeria to change its stand. “In ECOWAS, we represent our people, not our presidents, this is a parliament of the people,” he said.
He further quoted that 75 per cent of Nigerians are into agriculture, ”and growing the agriculture industry in Nigeria means creating jobs for the unemployed in the nation”.
“The more you allow rice into Nigeria, the more you empower countries like Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, China, and Vietnam,” he added.
ETLS

ETLS was created in 1976. It is what binds the ECOWAS member states together. It encourages entrepreneurial and economic development in member states.
However, according to the country report, the neighbouring countries have breached the agreement.
Most of the rice imported into neighbouring countries like Benin are exported into Nigeria, hence, turning Nigeria into a dumping ground for their exports.
Despite the ban of foreign rice through the land borders into Nigeria in 2016, rice still managed to find its way into the Nigerian market, curbing the profitability of local producers.
This, and the need to curb illegal importation led to the temporal closure of the land borders.
According to Mr Wase, ”as soon as the ETLS laws are enforced in the neighbouring countries, Nigeria will reopen its borders”.

A working class woman identified as Jennifer Oseh has taken to her Instagram account to share the screenshot of the chat she had with a security man who confessed that he has fallen in love with her.

Jennifer revealed that she has always been kind to the security man by always giving him tips whenever they met.

However, the man misinterpreted her kind gesture.

In the screenshot the lady posted on IG, the man had texted her to reveal that he has feelings for her.

He went ahead to reveal to her that he would have confessed his love a while ago if he had money.

On a different day after she refused to reply to the confession, the man sent a text, asking if he could come and stay with her.

She replied and told him never to send such messages to her.

He, however, sent another message apologizing and even claimed that he was feeling lonely.

She asked if she should be worried about the message sent by the man.

Phones › Re: Where Are Samsung Phones Made? by Kingrefreshed: 7:48am On Nov 28, 2019
eyamensah:
Where are Samsung phones made? It’s not where you think

Samsung is the biggest smartphone vendor on the planet. Data from multiple industry trackers showed that the company shipped nearly 300 million unitsjust last year. As you can probably imagine, a vast manufacturing network is required to pump out over a quarter of a billion devices every year.

The company has factories in several countries across the globe. However, it doesn’t really make a difference what country Samsung phones are made in. Samsung maintains a single quality standard across all of its factories.

Where are Samsung Galaxy phones made

China

You’d think China would be where most Samsung Galaxy phones are made. China is the global manufacturing hub after all. It’s also where Apple gets the bulk of its iPhones manufactured. Not to mention the fact that Chinese OEMs have come to dominate the smartphone market.

Samsung actually shut down its last remaining smartphone factory in China this year. As of 2019, the company is not making any phones in the People’s Republic. It previously had two factories in China but as Samsung’s market share fell below 1% in the country, it had to scale back production. It no longer makes financial sense for Samsung to manufacture phones in China. Which is why it has now stopped doing that.

Vietnam

Vietnam is actually where Samsung phones are made, most of them anyway. Samsung’s manufacturing facility is located in Vietnam’s Thai Nguyen province where two factories are churning out smartphones, tablets and wearable devices. The company is in the process of adding another factory to the facility to further increase its production in the country. The existing factories produce 120 million units per year. Most of Samsung’s global supply, including for markets like North America and Europe, comes from Vietnam.

India

India not only has Samsung’s biggest mobile factory, but it’s also the largest mobile phone manufacturing unit in the world based on production capacity. Samsung had announced in 2017 that it would invest $620 million to double smartphone production in India. It inaugurated the factory in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India in 2018. The production capacity of this factory is now at 120 million units per year.

Much of the supply is meant for the Indian market. It is one of the most lucrative smartphone markets for Samsung. Given the import taxes in the country, Samsung needs local production in order to effectively compete against its rivals on price. The company has been manufacturing its Galaxy M and Galaxy A series handsets here as well. However, Samsung may also export Indian-manufactured smartphones to markets in Europe, Africa and West Asia.

South Korea

Samsung does operate manufacturing facilities in its home country of South Korea. That’s also where most of the components that it sources from its sister companies are made. However, its smartphone production factory in South Korea accounts for less than 10 percent of global shipments. The units manufactured here are primarily meant for the company’s local market.

Brazil

Samsung operates a manufacturing facility in Brazilas well. It was set up back in 1999. More than 6,000 workers are employed at the factory from where Samsung supplies its smartphones to all of Latin America. With Brazil having high import taxes as well, local production also allows Samsung to offer its products in the country at a competitive price.

Indonesia

Indonesia is also a country where Samsung phones are made. It was a fairly recent decision by the company to start making phones in this country. The factory was opened in 2015 and has a production capacity of around 800,000 units per year. That’s sufficient enough for Samsung to cater to local demand.

How Samsung’s manufacturing priorities are changing

The smartphone market has significantly changed over the past decade. Chinese smartphone manufacturers have become highly competitive in all segments of the market. Samsung has had to adapt as it comes under increasing pressure.

This has led to a shift in the company’s manufacturing priorities. Samsung released its first ODM smartphone, the Galaxy A6s, in 2019. That device was manufactured by a third-party for the Chinese market. The ODM solution allows Samsung to improve its margins on affordable devices. It’s now expected to ship 60 million ODM smartphones in the near futureto markets across the globe.

A larger shift to the ODM model would mean that Samsung won’t be utilizing all of the available production capacity that it has at its own factories. That’s unless shipments increase for the smartphone market overall and it’s able to increase its market share.

Where are original Samsung phones made?

There are some misconceptions about “original” Samsung phones based on the country of production. The abundance of misinformation online doesn’t help. To put it simply, all Samsung phones made at the company’s own factories or its ODM partners are “original.” It doesn’t matter if the factory is in South Korea or Brazil. A smartphone made at the factory in Vietnam isn’t inherently better than the one made in Indonesia.

That’s because these factories are only really assembling the devices. They all get the same components and follow the same manufacturing and quality processes. You don’t have to worry whether your Samsung phone is original or not based on where it was made. Unless it’s an obvious fake that says “Samsang” or something at the back. That’s another problem altogether.

Literature › Re: Soyinka Reacts To Media Distortions Of His 2014 Experience With Cancer by Kingrefreshed: 7:07am On Nov 28, 2019
Gistfresh:
Nobel laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka has lamented distortions and media misconception of a BBC feature programme in which his 2014 experience with cancer was featured.

Soyinka, in a statement on Wednesday, said he had not seen the final presentation of a BBC feature programme on Health Awareness in which his 2014 experience with cancer was featured, but that he had been bombarded by narratives of the most disquieting nature, distortions through either misreporting or media misconceptions of what the BBC feature actually conveyed.

“The first – and most urgent – correction of course is to re-state that this is an ancient tale that is firmly situated in the past tense. In other words, I have not been under any cancer related condition for over five years. Indeed, it was in order to avoid creating any such anxieties that I refrained from even revealing my own ordeal until I had fully and successfully concluded treatment.

“I made the original revelation in 2015, in support of the late Professor Femi Williams’ drive to set up an Africa Cancer Centre in Nigeria. It did not fail to strike an instructive chord that I had been a founding participant in that health initiative, little suspecting at the time that I was already a carrier of the enemy virus,” he said.

Soyinka said more worrisome, was that some of the reportage suggested that he criticized Nigerians for seeking treatment outside the country, which he described as outright nonsense.

According to him, “those who are able must seek health from wherever, including the outer planets, as long as a nation fails to provide even the most rudimentary but effective and sustainable health facilities for her own citizens. Indeed, I called it a shame that a nation as resource endowed as Nigeria has failed in that fundamental aspect, since it privileges just a few as against the totality.

“I lamented a situation where a nation’s president leaves his station again and again for weeks on end to seek treatment outside his nation, while the health system over which he presides steadily collapses around him.

“I repeat: I have yet to see the programme, but perhaps I should start thinking of my next collaboration with the BBC or any other public awareness outreach, this time, around the urgent theme of a different form of cancerous affliction: the cancer of illiteracy!”

The House of Representatives has berated officials of the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs over alleged N62 million dubious financial transactions that are not documented or in the financial records of the ministry.

The ministry officials, led by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Didi Watson-Jack, appeared before the House Committee on Public Accounts yesterday.

They were asked to explain some payments made by the Commission to ‘’dubious’’ companies, and a N48 million for a training programme in Dubai in 2014, and N14m for the purchase of Smart and tablets phones without valid documents.

The ministry officials were invited by the committee based on an audit query raised by the Auditor General of the Federation for the 2014 financial year.

Speaking, chairman of the committee, Wole Oke informed that “there is no single receipt for the payments of air fares trip to and from Dubai, hotel accommodation, visas and what have you.

“We also discovered that the original company that made the submission for the Dubai trip was not the one the Ministry made the payment to.’’

Crime › Re: PrettyMaa: How I Was Raped At Age Of 8 by Kingrefreshed: 6:41am On Nov 28, 2019
mercyefe200:
A Nigerian lady @PrettyMaa_ has taken to social media to recount how she was raped by her neighbour at the age of 8.

According to the young lady, even after she told her mom, her mom never believed her.

Read her story below;

She wrote “You see that picture I was approaching 8 and guess what I already knew what sex was. I grew up in Warri, back of old airport behind winners chapel church.. one of all those computers with 30 tenants, one toilet and bathroom, the building was standing because of God. I was chubby liked by everyone in the compound. They usually call me nyenye that’s like the nickname of my native name “nyenrhovwo”.

“We had this neighbour next to ours, an elderly woman with 8 boys, she fries groundnut so after school I walk to her backyard to help her fry and eat small. One of her sons “samy” was my fav, always buying me biscuits and gifts. If my mum is not around he stays with me and all. Till this very day , I got back from school as usual went to mama’s house to fry groundnut but no one was home except samy well as uncle things I stayed. That was how he carried me on his bed and started touching me. He closed my mouth so I won’t scream loud.

“That was how my favorite uncle raped me after he was done he cleaned me up thoroughly and took me home. After some weeks I tried telling my mum , do you know my mum assumed i was lying? Because she felt it couldn’t be true. That was when my life started. I had to heal up bruises on my own and the thoughts on my own.

“I started developing trust issues, till date my trust issue is bad my previous relationships always end up because I can’t seem to trust a man. We eventually left there to another place that was when i went A wire. I became stubborn ehn as in stubborn. I felt i could do things on my own, i joined the wrong friends. My parents felt then I was possessed or something because i lost control. They did all they could but i was far gone so they left me to my fate. At age 13,14 i leave my parents house without them knowing about my whereabouts for weeks, months to stay in my friends houses.

“Good thing i was still going to school. You see bad friends forget it.. They were wayward so they didn’t advise me to have sense so i was foolish like them so when i was around 14 going 15. My mum had a liquor shop in warri then so she had this particular ijaw man coming to buy things. Well i knew him very well.

“So on that day after school ,i just got out of the school gate and he drove pass and he stopped and offered to take me home which i innocently entered i just thought after all he’s my mum’s customer let me save my tp fare. That was how he got to one house and said he wanted to quickly drop some things in that house and that i should assist him carry some load. I joined him and we carried the things into the house, lo and behold this man locked the door and asked me to strip.

“For a min i was dumbfounded till a blow hit me ,he was like if i dont do as he says he was going to kill me. He was serious because he brought out a knife. I tried to struggle with him in the process he stabbed me pretty close to ny chest,on my left breast that’s y i hv a scar there looking like a tattoo but i tell people it was an operation to avoid long stories. He succeeded, cleaned me up and dropped me half way on the road.

“I got home no one was home i quickly cleaned up so my parents wont notice a thing because i had no intentions of telling them after all the first one happened they didnt believe its now this one? I just decided to keep it to myself. Weeks after my body changes, mumsu noticed i was having awful discharge immediately she took me to the hospital and result came i had a terrible infection. Doctors had to do a vaginal operation. My life then was in a mess but i always wore a smile. Back to back injections, treatment my hands and butt saw shege that period. I finally opened up to my parents ,but by then the man had packed out.

“These experiences created a mental and emotional damage to me. I started life quite early and i learnt my lessons in a very hard way. I had an ex i had the courage to tell my rape experience to,he laughed and told me i was lying, because of this ehn i started some of my past relationships with lies because i felt what was the point of being real when he wont believe me. Those so called friends even ganged up to kill me then because of envy. My rape experience affected my sexual life i rarely hv orgasm during sex, my insecurities became immeasurably high.. then i was strong,my heart was like a rock, you cant fight me oh.

“My growing up wasnt fun at all. I didn’t get to experience those sweet childhood memories because i became an adult at a minor age. No one helped me retrace my steps,God did. We all hv stories to tell in one way or the other. How you make your bed is how you will definitely sleep on it. All these pain formed into anger because i was forced to heal up the hard way.

“Sometimes when i get angry its a different version of me u dont want to see, before i couldnt control it, gradually i started managing my anger issues. It’s dead but its still in me so if you pish me to my limit it will erupt . Sometimes anything that will trouble my peace ,i try to avoid it , i either keep calm or walk away but if you push it well . So thank you for reading…. i hope you learnt from my story .

Be the best version of yourself”

Politics › Re: Senate Tells Yahoo Boys To Use Their Talents Legitimately by Kingrefreshed: 5:35am On Nov 28, 2019
Showbby28:
Kenneth Udeh,Abuja

The Senate on Wednesday lamented the growing number of youths in correctional centres in the country due to their involvement in cyber crime, it urged those engaged in the act to take advantage of the numerous legitimate opportunities in ICT by converting their knowledge to make money and earn a
living rather than using it to commit a crime.

The Senate gave this advice at its deliberation over the motion titled “The Growth of Digital Technology and the Challenge of Cybercrime: Urgent Need to Safeguard the Future of Nigeria” sponsored by Sen. Yakubu, Oseni (Kogi Central).

The motion read;

“The Senate Notes that the growth of digital technology, otherwise referred to as ICT revolution has brought about improved performance in all aspects of society. It is an economic development pillar guaranteeing national competitive advantage. It has led to rapid global communication and networking, provided ease in finding detailed answers to millions of questions every day, accelerated the growth and penetration of mobile telephony and its associated multimedia services, and in deed, propelled increased end-successes in all human endeavors;

Further Notes that the world has moved into the blazing digital ecosystem accelerating at the speed of thought, with very effective concepts and disruptive innovation models such as Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, Robotics, Machine Learning, cloud computing, artificial intelligence and blockchain implementation and other emerging technologies, achieving rapid improvements in the knowledge society;

Observes that digital technology also promises to make the world a much safer place, as traffic authorities anticipate a vast reduction in traffic fatalities with possibility of saving nearly 300,0001ives over 10 years with the deployment of autonomous vehicle technology, and as crime statistics could drop by over 20% with deployment of metropolitan censors and cutting edge home security remote monitoring devices, amongst other advantages;

Worried that the gains of digital technology are being dampened by rapid evolution of cybersecurity threat landscape, with increased attacks in both sophistication and severity Reports indicate that there is currently a dramatic rise in cybercrime such as the ransomware epidemic, the refocusing of malware from personal computers (PCS) and laptops to smartphones and mobile devices, the deployment of billions of underprotected Internet of Things (ioT) devices, the legion of hackers-for-hire and more sophisticated launching of attacks on governments, businesses, educational establishments, defence infrastructure, etc;

Further worried that nefarious cyber-related activities are already costing the world huge losses in trillions of dollars Recently, the NotPetya malware caused billions of dollars in damage in many industries around the world. Global ransomware damage alone has been predicted to cost the world over 11 billion dollars in 2019 and 20 billion dollars in 2021. It is also predicted that a business will fall every 14 seconds in 2019 and 11 seconds in 2021, and that overall cybercrime is predicted to cost the world over 6 trillion dollars annually from 2021;

Alarmed that Nigeria is already plagued with the destructive cyber-crises Reports indicate that in 2017 alone, the country lost about 649 million dollars (ie over N250 billion) to cybercrime activities. The 2018 Report of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Cooperation (NDIC) indicates that there were 37,817 reported fraud cases within the year, out of which 59.2% were internet and technology based, costing businesses in Nigeria several billions of naira. It is also indicated that over 81% of cyber security incidents in the country are either unreported or unresolved, leaving room for the proliferation and escalation of illicit cyber activities. In fact, the recent apprehension of 77 cyber criminals by the FBI, several of whom are Nigerians, leaves much to worry about

Concerned that Nigeria still lags behind in infrastructure sophistication, data management and digital security and Imowhow which are critical to the development agenda. In fact, federal allocation to the ICT sector of the economy can only be considered as lip service, compared to the enormity of challenges therein. Manpower development in digital technology is equally a far cry. Even in Africa, Nigeria is at the bottom of cyber security manpower ratio to total population. Our institutions of learning do not seem to understand the world we live in today. Indeed, our cyber security consciousness and awareness rating does not come before that of any other country in the world;

Aware that the 8th Senate, desirous of keeping the country ahead of the cyber-challenge, had mandated the Committee on lCT and Cybercrime to interface with stakeholders, and that the Committee kick-started the process accordingly; and

Convinced that the bar for digital readiness and cyber security must be raised if Nigeria must speed up to the digital ecosystem and proactive cyber awareness and intelligence, as well as properly positioned herself for the unending economic development opportunities that come with ICT.”

Sponsor of the motion had Senator Yakubu had during his press briefing after the Plenary described the growing of cyber crime as worrisome , he called for increased awareness of money making opportunities in the ICT sector.

He said, ” Cyber crime is something that someone will sit at the comfort of his home and commit. If we go to our Nigerian prisons today, we see our young men that were arrested for one or two cyber crimes and to me it is something that we have to prevent.

I believe in prevention rather than going after those who committed the crime. We need proper creation of awareness that this knowledge that you have , you can equally convert to good use and make money for yourself, rather than using the knowledge to commit crime.

The ICT aspect we know that any nation that wants to grow, must pay attention to technology and if we see Nigeria and the world over you will see that we are behind in terms of ICT so we seek in the motion that the Federal Government to really pay attention to ICT in terms of budgetary provision particularly in education and to catch them young we have to move from manual to digital like E-learning and all that.

Mr. President said last time of how he intends to engage millions of our youths in jobs , but these youths can’t be engaged in only Government Ministries Agencies and Departments ( MDAs) the ICT/ communication sector is one area that can engage over 15% of our youths.

Senator Stella Odua(Anambra North) in her contribution to the motion made a case for the job opportunities in the ICT sector , she cited coding aa an example while also calling for increased budgetary allocation to the ICT sector .

She said ” We are losing a lot by not tapping into cyber opportunities, I mean the technology and ICT part of it. We can recall that Microsoft announced two years ago, that in the next five years they were going to have 228,000 jobs that were going to be technology and ICT related.

My concern is that we as a country are not fully prepared to participate in this aspect. Statistically an average ICT worker earns an average of 10,000 dollars. Take for example of In my village we have a young man or woman who is certified coder and when they are coding they earn 10,000 just imagine what that would do to my community. We have graduates who may not have seen computers not to talk of operating them. The gap I see and the opportunity loss is unnecessary, we must ensure that we don’t just domesticate ICT in all our schools but to make sure that the budgetary allocation closes this gap.

The senate accordingly resolved to: Mandate the Committee on ICT and Cybercrime to re-establish engagement with stakeholders with a view to galvanizing a comprehensive and broad-based approach to addressing Nigeria’s digital technology and cyber security crises and safeguarding the present and future of the country; Further mandate the Committee on ICT and Cybercrime to establish strategic engagements with MDAs with a view to ascertaining their ICT shortfalls, cyber security constraints, data management challenges, and possible remediation measures; Permit the Committee on ICT and Cybercrime to make inputs to budgetary provisions of MDAs on Information and Communication Technology and cybersecurity issues, with a view to ensuring appropriate funding of the all-important areas of concern; and Urge the Federal Government to deliberately take up measures to improve on budgetary provisions for, and attention to the development of digital technology and cyber-dependence safety.

Car Talk › Re: FRSC: Using Google Map While Driving Is A Serious Offence by Kingrefreshed: 5:29am On Nov 28, 2019
fergie1989:
The FCT Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ayuba Gora, says driving with the aid of Google Map using mobile phones is a serious traffic offence.

NAN reports that Mr. Gora said this at the inauguration of the 2019 Ember Months Campaign by Lugbe Unit Command of the FRSC in Abuja on Wednesday.

According to him, the law forbids motorists from using mobile phones in any form while driving, as it can lead to an accident.

He also informed motorists that the corps will soon begin enforcement of installation of speed limiting devices.

Mr Gora advised motorists, especially commercial vehicle operators, who have yet to install the device to do so.

“We will embark on massive checks of vehicles without this device soon and arrest those that disconnected the devices from their vehicles.

“It is very important that all vehicles should have the device installed in their vehicles.

“The required speed limit for commercial vehicles even on the highways should not exceed 90 km/hr for buses and taxis.

“By doing this today, we are simply reminding motorists that they must drive with care and observe traffic rules and regulations in order to make the job very easy for all of us.

“If you are arrested this period, you will not just pay fines but must be taken for emotional evaluation test in the hospital to ascertain your mental fitness before we let go,” he said.

He urged the public to dial 122 or 112 in case they noticed unusual behaviour by road users and in the event of an accident.

Mr Gora debunked speculations that the speed limit device damages car engine, saying it had nothing to do with the engine, but only cut fuel supply during attempted speeding.

“Once the vehicle reaches a predetermined top speed, the computer steps in and restricts the flow of air and fuel to the engine and even the sparks that cause combustion.

“Either way, the vehicle will be unable to exceed the top speed as determined by the car’s manufacturer.

“The problem we have with the operators of these vehicles is that, when a speed limiting device has been installed, they tamper with it. In the process of tampering by disconnecting, it leads to a problem,” he added.

Romance › Re: Can My Disrespectful & Unsubmissive Girlfriend Change After Marriage? by Kingrefreshed: 8:20pm On Nov 27, 2019
burggerx:
One thing that scares the hell out of me about my girlfriend is her attitude. When you talk about a disrespectful and unsubmissive lady, my girlfriend is the headquarters of all the disrespectful and unsubmissive ladies I've ever met. Even if she does something good, I don't tend to notice it because her bad attitude has already overshadowed the good side of her

Even if she acts respectful to me, it's so obvious she's only forcing it since it's a trait she lacks. Just when a little brawl ensues, curses and abusive words are usually not far-fetched from her mouth. She has even insulted my family before during a heated argument. The only thing my girlfriend is yet to do is to beat me up

I believe they say respect is earned but I've done everything a man should do to earn respect from his lady yet this lady talks to me like a kid. No sign of humility at all

My girlfriend is not only dominating but toxic and does not accept correction. She makes it look like giving authority as a man is slavery and she questions my authority every time. The annoying part is that she argues a lot and always wants to be right at all times. Feminism is written all over her to the extent that even in movies, my girlfriend will have the back of a woman who is unsubmissive and disrespectful to an innocent husband.

Although she acts like a respectful girlfriend in the presence of my family but my mom in question is smart enough to know that she's only faking it despite trying all my best to portray my girlfriend as someone that gives me joy in the face of my mom

Before my mom traveled to the UK in September, she sat me down up to three times and advised me to let go of this girl if I really want to spend the rest of life with peace of mind and that if I insist on marrying her, she doesn't have a choice than to respect my decision but she will remind me of her advice which I didn't yield to if I eventually end up as a frustrated man in the future

I've tried to terminate the relationship but she cries and makes the whole thing look like I don't love her and that if I do, I should be able to cope with her flaws. There was even a time she told me she doesn't have a choice than to respect me if I marry her and I was like WTF!

I have decided to call the relationship a quit once and for all since I'm not in for any future drama. I don't want to end up with a woman that will be rude and disrespect me in the face of my own children.

But there's one question I want to ask is that, can a ride girlfriend ever change after marriage? Is it worth taking the risk that she will change with time?
God sent me directly to you to answer this your question.

SHE WILL NOT AND WILL NEVER CHANGE!!!. SHE WILL GET WORSE.

I made that same mistake and today I regret it so much. When we first met I noticed that she's disrespectful and rude but I would easily brush it off like I can make her change since she really loves me and listens to me.

All na lie! By the time she got in, she now feel like she somehow owns me completely and she can talk or say anything she wants to in my face and since I can't beat her because she will call buhari, Atikueand Nigerian bar association for me.

Bad wife is a curse my brother.

And further more..... She added and spiced it up with Nagging.

Take away the thieving Northerners in power, they are the same with our politicians from the south. They don't have the interests of the ordinary masses at heart so we have to collaborate and build our local communities by ourselves.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Manchester City Vs Shakhtar Donetsk: UCL (1 - 1) On 26th November 2019 by Kingrefreshed: 11:01pm On Nov 26, 2019
Dyt:
Head-to-head

Manchester City have won four of their five Champions League encounters with Shakhtar Donetsk (lost one), keeping a clean sheet in each victory.
Shakhtar Donetsk have lost on both of their visits to face Manchester City at the Etihad in the Champions League, conceding eight goals without reply. They have never lost each of their first three away games against a single team in Champions League history.

Manchester City

Manchester City have lost only one of their last 13 home group stage games in the Champions League (won 11, drew one, lost one) - winning each of the last four in a row, including a 6-0 victory against Shakhtar Donetsk in November 2018.
City have won their last six home Champions League games, the longest current run of any side. The last English side to have a longer run were Chelsea, who won seven in a row at Stamford Bridge between March 2008 and February 2009.
Manager Pep Guardiola has won nine of his 12 matches against Shakhtar Donetsk in all competitions as manager (won nine, drew one, lost two) - he has won more games against the Ukrainian side than he has versus any other in European competition.
Riyad Mahrez has been directly involved in more Champions League goals versus Shakhtar Donetsk than he has against any other team in the competition (two goals, four assists).
Raheem Sterling has found the back of the net in both of his Champions League appearances against Shakhtar Donetsk at the Etihad, netting in September 2017 and November 2018.

Shakhtar Donetsk

Shakhtar Donetsk are unbeaten in their last three away Champions League matches (won two, drew one) - they have never gone four in a row without defeat on the road in the competition.
Shakhtar scored twice in the 90th minute of their 3-3 draw with Dinamo Zagreb on matchday four, becoming only the third team to do so in an away Champions League game, along with Ajax at Thun in November 2005 and Spurs at Inter Milan in October 2010.
Taison has carried the ball a competition-high 1,811 metres so far in the 2019-20 Champions League, with 1,049 of these metres seeing him make progress upfield (another competition-high in 2019-20).

She kept lying about this guy who happened to be a medical doctor, I am unemployed but sell phone accessories and do mini importation on the side but doing my Masters.

It happened that one time she told me she was to travel to Asaba to meet her family members, on hearing this I was happy and looked forward to talking to them.

After spending the night at my place I put her in a bus to Asaba, she didn't pick my calls till the next day.

The next day she posted an outing pic of herself in an eatery I didn't see it as anything but it's the next one that broke me.

A guy took a picture of her with her phone while backing a glass door so I could take that he wore a blue shirt I called that day and when I asked playfully to talk to the family members she asked me "what kind of talk is that ?"

Not long from then I got tagged in a picture on her wall on Facebook, low and behold it was a selfie of her and the Medical doctor in blue shirt and the caption "I love you forever, my personal person" someone she said I shouldn't worry about but he is asking her out, that she knew months before meeting me. She was supposed to be away for 2 days and ended up coming back after a week.

On seeing this I called to demand for an explanation if they were related, she sighed cut the phone on me and didn't pick my calls ever again.

She left me for a Medical Doctor!!

One month later now she calls me out of the blue to ask for 2k to buy foodstuffs. Which I gave without saying a word.

Fast forward to today I got a job with the government and relocated to Abuja.

She called me later shedding crocodile tears and begging for me back.

People of Nairaland, what would you have me do? What will you do if you were in my shoes? It's not my fault she didn't see the bigger picture.

She isn't the first woman that has left me for a better person.

Romance › Re: Not All Women Want Your Money… by Kingrefreshed: 6:42pm On Nov 26, 2019
binarymachine:
The love for the good and expensive life has driven most ladies into wanting everything luxury. They want to live in beautiful mansions in posh areas, they want to ride in nice cars, eat good food, use expensive gadgets, buy expensive dresses and wear expensive make ups and hairs etc. This pushes them to move towards persons who they feel can provide all these and sometimes hurting the ones who can’t. Hence the notion that ladies love money.

However there are ladies out there who do not really care about the financial security a man has to offer. This set of ladies are not limited only to the rich ones but even the broke ones. There are broke expossed girls who are not moved by life and all of its luxuries and flaunting it just to get them to notice you is a deal breaker for them. Yes! they exist. There are ladies who are looking for simplicity, honesty and love. All they want is someone who will show them love and care, shower them with attention and affection and stick with them no matter their flaws.

Everyone loves money and everybody needs money, however, not all ladies you come across are so impressed by cash and luxury. Even if they may desire it, not every lady makes it a deal breaker. Women also need love and affection, attention and quality time. Sometimes a simple compliment or gesture is all that is needed to kick things off. That lady you see around looking all sexy and serious, just say hi and let her know she looks beautiful, tell her the shoes are pretty, offer to get her a pack of pop corn and you might just be surprised how things will roll.

Purge that mentality of “all women love money” and all they want and care for is cash. You will be spending a lot of money on women and attracting the wrong ones. All men love money too, everybody does. We all want the good life and financial security, stop picking on the ladies.
