CHIMCO:
Thanks Sir. Please What of transmission oil?

Genuine Toyota transmission fluid Type T-IV is the recommended fluid fit your transmission. Beware of imitation. Insist on only the original stuff.

nkechi042:
Hmmn. alot of nairaland Pro's don't like this Taurus.

This was my options

Ford Taurus 2012
Kia Optima 2013
Honda Accord 2013

then I guess a Benz, but this is more expensive as in this thread.

I might just let go of the Taurus cos I am getting it for work and I dont like mechanic

Step the accord to 2015 /16 or lower the optima to 2012 you don't wanna do the gdi model.

HeavenlyBang:
Interesting strategy. Thinner is high octane IIRC.

I may try it out. I get that code once every few months. Sometimes throws up a lean code too + rough idling. A can of injector cleaner usually fixes it.

I'd post the procedure to reset it after the thinner stuff in the whatsapp group.

2cribz:
Just avoid fx

why?

b2212:
@kingreign what proportion of thinner to a full tank is safe. will love to try this

The amount of fuel in the tank when I bought the thinner was approx 20L, I poured 200 cl into it.

Blackbishop:
[s]Bro next time you jump try and look before you leap.

In my statement "or" was quoted and by the way which board of the company yhu do roundtable with that said 5W20 is not recommended again. IGALA[/s]

Trash!

Like I emphasised earlier, 5W30 SN is the recommended oil.

I'm talking based on experience as a user of that said vehicle for 6.5years and also as a highly-qualified technician.

HeavenlyBang:
Facts. Nigerian fuel is vile.

After driving from Abuja to Uyo during the weekend, my Heated Oxygen Sensors started acting up on both banks. I poured in some good amounts of thinner in the tank and drove hard for 2 days, then I did the Heated Oxygen Sensor relearn procedure. Since then till now, I've logged over 100miles and the check engine lights haven't returned.

nkechi042:
yeah. I saw the car. I am not a Benz person I just admired this one.

what I am looking for it Ford Taurus. any chance have it available?

Let go of that taurus get a benz.

My humble advice

Blackbishop:
Engine Oil - 5W20 or 5W30 preferably

Tranny - WS transmission Fluid will do

Toyota/lexus never recommended these fluids for these cars pls.

They recommended 5W30 SN energy conserving for engine, and genuine Toyota transmission fluid Type T-IV for transmission.

feranmi3:
Do you have anybody that can scan it for me.

you never solve am since that time?
Where is your location pls?

oride:
Hehehe, I'd close my eyes, increase the budget and go for a 2010 TSX instead.
