I'm most elated with the bolded. These I have seen and read over and over in reviews. Wondering why less talk of the GX and more of the G Class especially with our Nigerian terrain/roads that seem pepertually off-road. Thanks bro! I am sure making a right decision.

You are. Plus the drive train of these vehicles are proven reliable and dependable. Its a truck that you'd take off road and when you're back, you wash it down and take it to a high end Beverly Hills restaurant for a date and not feel out of place..

I am a bit confused as to why the Lexus GX is not compared side by side the G63 in terms of off road capability. I have read several reviews and seen lots of review videos on the GX and marvel at its beast mode ability off road. Yet it is classed alongside the LR4 and Mercedes GL. Only the Lexus LX 570 is classed alongside the G63.

Despite its 301hp, I'll personally take the GX 460 rather than the G63 without blinking for its reliabilty, longevity (still runs like new even after 130,000 miles), off road agility and great resale value. I hope to get one soonest after disposing off my Lexus RX. Am I missing something great auto minds?

Horsepower isn't everything in Off road, torque and ability to direct that torque to the wheels with the most traction is. A GX will give you this. Also, in off road conditions, rock crawling, wood lands, ravines and valley traversing you don't need a wide and overly heavy SUV, you need a narrow body SUV and one with lesser mass. The GX will give you these flawlessly. Also, the terrain selection modes in these trucks really work wonders especially when combined with X-REAS and KDSS and most importantly a very good off road tyre.

There was an off-road comparison between the G class, Range Rover, Audi Q7 TDI and Land cruiser. Remember the land cruiser is a standard version of the LX.

All cars did well because it was an off-road comparison purely I remembered vividly the landcruiser was touted as an offroad water depth vehicle, the Q7 won in the engines department because of it V12 diesel Engine.

Now the Range Rover and G wagon went on head to head and did extremely well even the G-wagon was almost ahead with it's manual differential lock mechanism, the Range Rover won the battle only because it had side mirror camera which assisted in climbing rock bolder and evading danger of undercarriage damage.

I am not saying the GX is a bad off-road vehicle but when you remove reliability and focus purely on off-road, the GX stands no chance against a G-wagon.

For your mind.
Its said If you wanna go off road, take a ****, if you wanna go offroading and back take a yota/Lexus.

The outbacks, middle east, African Sahara, Moab have been conquered by yota/Lexus over and over.

2 Fridays ago I drove a distance of over 200km, got home and parked the car. 2 hours later I drove into town, when the car gets into the 4th gear, it neutralises itself. Then I have to slow down to a lower gear before it engages itself (either on gear 2 or 1).
It only drives from 1-3, the moment you accelerate to 4, it disengages.

Within last week, another gearbox was installed.
This one advanced to gear 4, but neutralised before engaging some gears.

Also tried a different brainbox yesterday.

Please what's the problem and solution. Thanks.

Good day all...
I have 2 problems with my 1997 Camry LE auto tranny,

1. When I leave the car under the hot sun with Windows all shut say like 2hrs, the screen that displays mileage upon starting the engine goes blank! Now when this happens, gear shifts (gear 1-2) becomes difficult/sluggish even at high rpm.
This also happens when I use my full light, the display also goes blank after 15mins of using full light.

The only way the gear shift goes back to normal and the mileage display return is when it cools down or I turn on the A/C for like 15-20mins max while driving... thereby cooling the dash area.
Why

2. My timing belt is always snapping...I have used 4 this year!!!
Why
I have used so many brands from so many markets with divers kind of packaging/writ ups on them.

I have used the car for 6yrs+ with no major issues,
Still does Abuja-Owerri till recently,

Depending on year models,

the first gen Tacoma 95-04 had 2RZ-FE a 4 cylinder with 142 hp/217N.M torque, and 2.7 L 3RZ-FE 4 cylinder with 150hp/240N.M torque
Of course, the parts are cheaper than those in 2nd gen and 3rd gen cos its older.

The second generation Tacoma 05-15, had 2.7 L 2TR-FE 4cylinder with 159 hp/244N.M torque. This is more powerful and bigger and more comfortable.

The third gen Tacoma 16-date still used the 2.7 L 2TR-FE 4 cylinder 159 hp/244N.M torque.
Basically same with 2nd gen.

The choice is yours now.

Whosoever told you that obviously is economical with the truth. Corolla's economy and reliability and dependability is better than the Mercedes.

I have travelled with this vehicle several times to Benin. Fuel economy for such size of vehicle is very ok, the balance is fantastic even on top speed you wont feel it. So tell me your own experience.

How much fuel did you buy, also, what's your MPG?
15 combined city/highway MPG 13 city 18 highway 6.7 gals/100 miles (that's what's stated in Manufacturer spec sheet, a figure which I am sure you can't attain)


As for the balance and top speed, big tall huge things aren't sporty, and its down right dangerous, top speeds in SUVs are akin to playing suicide missions.
