kumari089:
With all Sincerity, I use a volvo S80 (2006) and those who are commenting about the high cost of Volvo parts seems not to have a first hand experience. i personally go to Daleko with my Mech (atimes) to buy Volvo Parts and if i must confess, they are relatively cheap. For example, i just bought an OEM Front shock absorber for 24000(Pair) and front pointer for 4000 (Right side) at Daleko for my S80. Though have never use a Toyota but i know from what friends told me that shocks for camry might be more than that, though i may be wrong.
As per Safety and security, sure Volvo beats all Toyota product. Dont even compare the interior of an S60 to any camry or highlander of same year, the difference is definitely clear.
Though Volvo cars have their own issues just like any other car. But Experience is the best teacher.
No doubt the Toyota company are conservative in their design approach cos they're mid class vehicles. Volvos are thorough cos they are premium vehicles. What about we stepping up to Lexus (a division of Toyota)?

I use an Honda but the Volvo Xc90 has a worldwide safety reputation which made various tech companies use it for their driverless cars.

If you argue against its safety record, it's either you're being mischievous or plainly ignorant.
Mr no doubt XC 90 is safe, but it's undisputed, Highlander has one of the lowest fatalities record amongst vehicles. The 4runner and the Rav4, shares these records.

Do some more research and let's stop being overly biased or over familiar with a brand cos we see it everyday doesn't mean it lacks pedigree.

I am traveling by the end of the month and I want to sell my car; a Honda Accord 2007 Sedan. I bought it as a foreign-used last year October. I have always used the car in Abuja.

I have only changed the oil and done the wheel alignment 3 times. I reside in Abuja and I would be glad to sell as soon as possible.

Price: 1million

Please kindly let me know if you are interested

Good evening forumites. I have been a greet admirer of murano for a long time and I hope to add one to my garage before the month runs out. However, going by the little research I did, most people are complaining that it is not a good buy whereas I do see a good number of them on the road everyday. Pray advise. Should I shelve the idea?

Dear Forumites,
I'm having overheating issue with my Nissan Xterra 2002 model. Problem started over a month ago when the temperature gauge went north on my way home from work. I quickly parked by the roadside and discovered there was no water in the radiator and I noticed a hissing sound whose source I tried to trace all to no avail. I eventually filled the radiator with water and went home only to discover the water had dried up again. Some few days later the car went off on my wife on her way home. She called and i told her to allow it cool down before adding water when was able to take her home.
When i later got home, I discovered the source of the hissing sound was a damaged water hose behind the engine. The holes were now larger and I could see coolant touching the engine giving that sound. I took the vehicle to the mechanic and the cut part was sliced off and the hose was reconnected and coolant added but the car still overheat on my way home. However, there no loss of coolant when I got home.
I took the vehicle to another mechanic and he said I should replace the gaskets which I did but the problem persists. Now he is saying I should replace the radiator with a triple cell type because the one in the truck is double cell variant.
I'm not sure there is going to be respite, so I told him I will think about it.
Please what could be the problem? The truck is very reliable and this is the second time it is giving me headaches since 2014 when I bought it. The initial ish was blocked catalysts which was not discovered on time and vehicle couldnt accelerate. The catalysts were eventually removed and it's been great especially during the rains till now. .
Thanks for your help.

Just checked now, you created a thread in phone section I think it's illegal to do that there for somethings.

My thread too was banned when I made an advert for sale of phone. Better create another thread in the technology market section. You are even lucky you weren't banned.
It would had been easier if it was moved to the right section.

Back in the days when Lomomike was a mod in car talk, instead of banning or hiding such posts, he moves them to the right section.

Mobil 1 in Abuja is 18,000 per gallon. You need approx 2gallons (8.5-9litres)
Star oil is 4,500-5,000 per litre. You need 9 litres (your techie should also replace the ATF in the TC via the TC drain plug)

You're not being scammed bro.

Dear Mod/Admin,

I write to inquire the real reason why my advert which I uploaded in this section last week titled "Powstro Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 Phone Charger For Sale" was hidden.
To the best of my knowledge, I didn't contravene any rule, so why was the advert hidden?
I feel there there is something fishy going on without my knowledge. I sent an email to Puskin, and I'm yet to get any reply.
Please, I appeal that my thread be brought back to visibility again.
Thanks.

Kingreign.

The thread does not make sense.

Paints are subject to degradation/oxidation from environmental factors. Japanese vehicles are the worst hit in this aspect.

Drive a car with the best paint job for 6 months in Nigeria and the look will never be the same. Try driving through muddy water and rinsing off sand from the auto body.
\
Wrong, Japanese cars fares well as long as the owners don't use harsh chemicals in washing them. European cars suffers scandalous rust issues.

The timing belt from my own experience lasts for an average of two years or so.
The ignition that fails is is the round black component in the engine where all the plug wires meet. I guess it's called the ignition cos that's what the mechanics made me to believe it is.
