You've at least 7 days to answer your technical test questions but it's a demerit if you have to wait till the 5th to 7th day. One thing I have learnt over time, it is advisable you answer and reply your mail within 48 hours. If you do not attempt to answer/reply their questions within 48hours of receipt, it sends a negative signal to them you aren't going to give your full time for the job if employed; that is one yardstick they also consider.

Replying your mail and attempting the test as soon as possible shows you are serious for the job role. Remember, this job entails you staying glued to your system within the working hours and not doing anything else except the company Job.. You will be highly monitored.

Please don't solicit for answer when answering the Hackerrank question using the same browser, if you do and you succeed, good luck but I can bet you the company will know if you solicit for answers by clicking tabs; that is the power function of Javascript. If you must solicit, please reduce the number of times you click on the browser tab.

Well for me i am tempted to feel its probably a fresh graduate that might happen to reason like that or reschedule an interview although if luck shines on you and the HR calling you happens to be generous he might oblige to reschedule but i trust and know that a graduate who might have stayed at home for maybe a year or 2 doing nothing would grab an opportunity like that with thanksgiving.

This is the problem why applicants are not passing interviews; no adequate time to prepare. Recruiters setting unscrupulous time notice for interview (a day or 2 days). How do you expect applicants to succeed? I don't know if you have ever been contacted by a multinational firm, you will understand my point of argument.

But a smart candidate should work towards going in at the appropriate time. Go with a good, clear updated CV, dress smartly for the interview (look the part), get there in good time for good composure. Read up about the company online, go to LinkedIn check out the profile of the key members of the company, enter the interview room with a smile and knock them out...my two kobo.

S/He has a menial job s/he is doing. So I feel HR personnel should consider and put themselves in the shoes of the applicant (since they can't guarantee the applicant automatic Job offer)

It is okay for an experienced candidate that is being head hunted to seek for reschedule but a recruiter will not reschedule interview for a fresh graduate or an inexperienced candidate. Inexperienced candidates are everywhere, the supply is greater than the demand. Simple logic.

While I agree on the bolded, I slightly disagree with you considering some circumstances. Maybe this is peculiar to Nigeria recruiters, multinational companies will contact you before hand to know if you will be available at a schedule date of an interview and even though you are inexperienced you can seek for your date of interview to be reschedule (provided there're other batches to be interviewed).

This is not true. Most candidates do not understand that their CV is a marketing tool.It must say all the right things about what you can do before you are even invited for an interview. Nobody is interested in your local government area or the fact that you like dancing. They want to know the ICT skills you have, the communication skills you have, how you can add value to the role that you are applying for, how you are willing to learn new ideas and technologies to improve your productivity. And some will include a phone number that is not working or an email address that they do not have access to on the CV.

When you give a candidate a cold call to assess the person over the phone and he or she goes...Who be dat??!, you will promptly call the next person.

You will invite some to interview, and they will advise you to reschedule the interview to a later date to enable them rearrange their schedules...

You can imagine...

I have gone for an interview before, when the interviewer asked me how much |I'm expecting as take-home, NGN 200k just fell-out of my mouth.. The man didn't say anything, when I was given offer letter, my salary was 200k monthly
