Foreign AffairsRe: Lessons from the Kenyan Mall Attack by klarry79: 5:52pm On Sep 27, 2013
Government must launch a sustained security awareness campaign especially on how the citizens should behave, what to look out for, what to do in public enclosures such as malls and also emergency exit procedures. these are simple procedures that have been proven well over with time. Right now Nigerians simply react and stampede at any semblance of chaos and that in itself has been a major cause of fatalities (e.g ikeja cantonment bomb blast).

This is the time for the National orientation Agency to begin to educate nigerians on what to do and precautions to take going forward. Once the people are empowered then it makes managing emergencies easier.

Government should also take the issue of emergency management very seriously from both the security and medical response perspectives.
The kenyans responded quickly and effectively and were focused on the task, security folks on engaging the terrorists while the medical responders where busy moving the woulded to safety for care. they were not crossing paths. The security personnel were not even distracted by the presence of journalist who also went in and took fotos unlike here where they will be chasing journalist away from the scene. every one knew his job and there were no conflicts of roles.

This is an opportunity for us to look inwards take proactive steps and make amends
God help us
PoliticsRe: Most Nigerians That Support "One Nigeria" Are Psychologically Damaged by klarry79: 10:49pm On Jan 16, 2013
We are simply a self-deluded people who are not courageous enough to take a stand against injustice and oppression. The masses don't believe nigeria can break and have resigned to fate but the politicians believe it can break and all have houses abroad and one way tickets out of the country in case thing fall apart.

the likes of makinde continue to remind us ofte failure of the church in acting as a voice for justice and righteousness in the affairs of our nation.
can someone remind him that martin luther king was a Baptist preacher who fought the reign of segregation and discrimination in the U.S and is remembered more as an activist that a preacher.

makinde and his likes do not have the courage to look evil in the eye and take a stand

sad that many of our preachers will hide under the "leave politics to politicians cloak" to cover their ineptitude.

Elijah confronted Ahab and Jezebel, nathan confronted David and so many other examples abound in the bible that these people claim to read yet do not follow

I hope nlc/ tuc do not compromise. period!
FG must revert to N65 now and carry out a proper deregulation program with PIB passed, Industry regulatory agency set up (just like ncc was done for telecoms) and break the monopoly of corrupt nnpc and let nnpc operate like a proper oil and gas company.
FG must deal with its internal corruption, bloated size, reckless spending etc.

Waow, his administration has lost the moral power to rule over the country and he can only submit to tyrannic rule.
The governors will soon be next in line to face the wrath of the people.

PoliticsRe: Benefits Of A Disintegrated Nigeria by klarry79: 7:40pm On Jan 11, 2012
Accountability is one benefit.

i think people will be better positioned to hold their leaders accountable.
Each region will also be faced with the stark reality of generating its own means of livelihood and survival as there will be no need for oil money sharing of government subvention of any kind.

The regions will also be better managed as the burden of things like Drivers licenses, ID Cards, plate numbers etc will be borne by states and LGs and will not be the business of federal govt.

Their will be better investments in critical sectors such as agriculture, solid minerals, man power development (including education) etc

PoliticsRe: Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala And Sanusi On AIT Matters Arising by klarry79: 2:38pm On Jan 10, 2012
NOI and SLS claims that the borders are porous and enough incentive to have oil smuggled across the border to other more lucrative markets. well it is not our fault that their govt cannot secure the borders, let all the security agencies do their job, it is not our fault that their govt has showed total ineptitude in addressing fundamental issues of governance. so they want us to pay for their failures. no matter what 'harvard type' economic solutions they profer as long as they refuse to plug the loopholes in the administration of the country, they will keep shifting the responsibility of sustaining their recklessness to the people.

NOI, SLS and co should prevail on the govt to at least fix things first before shifting other responsibilities to the people.

As for the state governors, save a few, the rest are just a bunch of criminals who cannot resist the lure of additional income they did not earn to continue to fuel their ungodly lusts.

Even Abacha did not show this level of ineptitude.
I just can't understand that someone can show such a level of daftness.
I am still trying to fanthom how a president even if he were a puppet could show such low level of incompetence.

Mr. President please if there are cabals name ONE , just one
If there is boko haram in your govt: name One
If you cannot govern pls leave at least you have enuff to last you ten lifetimes

PoliticsRe: Acn Denies Role In Alleged Jonathan’s Victory by klarry79: 11:44am On Apr 19, 2011
X-factoria

the point i am making is that jonathan got the votes because people had resigned to the fact that pdp will rig its way in anyway and not because the party represents any serious political ideology or any conviction of the voters.

yes jonathan is popular and may have the solidary of many, however like you rightly mentioned, there is sophistication in the SW voters so the sentiment towards jonathan may be a secondary consideration if there was a formidable alternative to the pdp and its candidate

if u ask me, i am not troubled by pdp at all in Lagos for example. APGA's performance in lagos at the last NASS election was impressive and thats because there was some alternative to ACN in some constituencies.

Point is as formidable options begin to avail, the invincibility of the so called mega parties will begin to wane.

Soon even the most discredited parties will begin to look for credible and reliable candidates

cheers!!!
PoliticsRe: Acn Denies Role In Alleged Jonathan’s Victory by klarry79: 10:03am On Apr 19, 2011
@ufumes

if the alliance had worked , there would have been a whole new level of mobilization in the south west.
3 qters of the 4 million voters who sat at home in lagos would have responded. ACN/CPC would have won the
south west convincingly and trust me pdp/jonathan would have lost and may not have had the show off they are mouthing right now.

a lot of people (both ACN and CPC voters) sat back since the alliance they hoped for did not materialise

i tried to convince a number of them but i guess many had resigned to fate that pdp would rig anyway and no formidable opposition was in sight.

i wish the eastern region too would evolve into such a powerful political force and not be tossed everywhere by political parties that have no vision.
