this is a truly vivid description of the pitiable stte our presidency is. a very sorry case. i like the bit about obama addressing the nation while our 'non-functional govt' is yet to come up with a proper national position on the matter. corruption has boxed us into so tight a corner that this incident my just be the last straw tht may break 'this camel's back' ![]() |
I wonder why we don't ever get things right in this country. ![]() we are an abused nation and we no longer see right, in fact we see 'wrong things' as right and carry on as if it has to be so i cannot understand the rational behind the decision to remove Gani from the award. this is the exact attitude we are trying to correct in INEC. Silverbird and Vanguard have made it clear with this action that the 'people's vote' is not final, they can keep their award. We will continue to honour GANI in our hearts as a legend. we appreciate the impact dora and co have made but such awards are for people who have committed their lives influencing positive change in humanity. A TRUE LIVING LEGEND IS NELSON MANDELA. MICHAEL JACKSON WAS ACKNOWLEDGED AS A LIVING LEGEND SEVERAL YEARS BEFORE HE DIED I think the closest we have amongst the list to a living legend is Gani Fawehinmi. I do not think (with no disrespect intended) that pastor adeboye, ojukwu, soyinka qualifies. Please if you think pastor adeboye qualifies what impact has he made off the pulpit compared to rev desmond tutu, martin luther king junior, mother theresa etc. these all went outside of their regular calling to demand and effect positive change in their constituencies regardless of the cost. Here the country is groaning and oppressed by horrible leaders and all we get from the pulpit is 'PRAY FOR NIGERIA' and the same down-trodden and oppressed people attend church services and holy ghost conventions. Imagine the impact a pastor adeboye led demand for justice and fairness in the next elections would have. imagine the impact if such a man would publicly give insights and directions on national issues - a man the country listens to. today there is no clear-cut position of the church community in Nigeria national issues because these 'great' men of God have not lent their voices to issues. I believe he can do more to impact the lives of people by actively 'campaigning' and demanding for righteousness and fairness in governace. Dora, Ojukwu, Kanu and Soyinka have no doubt done much to impact lives but have they reached or impacted society (not segments of society) at large over a sustained period of time. i think these people still have a lot more to offer and there efforts so far are much appreciated |
even if u reduce the whole country to one state, and bring constitution from heaven the dimwits we have in abuja and their cohorts simply will not let things work ![]() mad people |
Like I always say, these folks do not listen and when they do they do not hear and even at that they certainly never understand. DimWits ![]() |
These guys have only just learnt the term 'due process'. they really do not know what it means. they do not understand what governance and continuity of good governance requires. they are as dimwitted as the cow and goats in the field. it beats me to see that even the 'educated' ones among them lose all sense of reasoning once they gather in their assembly. Due process is too much of grammar for them to even begin to comprehend. ![]() |
At least these fools in the rock house cannot 'buy good health'. Na dat one god take pass dem ![]() |
wow ! a fly-by ass-hole rock with one of these would just about set their heads straight great stuff ![]() |
she seems to be playing the chief press sec to the president! As minister I don't think she has a properly defined job specs. Her defend of govt issues and rebranding is not coming from her heart. I hope she will turn around and leave that place |
It is apparent that the Min of Info does not really know what her job is or has no clear cut job definition. I think she is struggling to to be relevant and to be seen to be doing something. She should keep us informed about the great works and achievements of the Yar'adua 7-point agenda.(She really can't do that because there is nothing to report - no work done on the 7-point agenda) There is nothing to rebrand as long as the current system exists. She really does not fit in to this administration.she is struggling for relevance |
Right now, even PDP knows they need someone with life and capacity, someone to make their next rigging worthwhile. Yar'adua as a candidate is a guaranteed failure for PDP. The man simply lacks capacity. |
Nigeria we hail thee |
IS NIGERIA WORTH LIVING IN = NO IS THERE ANY HOPE FOR CHANGE = NO CAN FOREIGN-BASED PROS HELP = NO (dey get corrupted d moment dey come in) CAN THE PEOPLE RISE UP AND DEMAND CHANGE = NO (we r so abused we don't even know or want what is right anymore) CAN THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY HELP = NO (naija has defied all international economic and sociopolitical solutions proven to have worked in other countries) WAY OUT? = DIVINE INTERVENTION |
Na wa o After this what next |
@xavier Who tell u say u b ekiti man No b cameroon u come from? Komot dia |
Hey trying to create jobs is a good idea but as with everything in naija it will end up in chaos. D travel agency thing is still largely unregulated and I doubt if FG knows D number of travel agents in abuja let alone in d country |
Yar'Adull |
@Informed: Yoruba Candidate - Babatunde Raji Fashola |
I think the country is failing and one day soon the people may rise up and say enough is enough. Unfortunately the looters of our resources already have plans to jet out of this country if everyrthing goes bad the masses on ground don't seem to believe this (they still believe in One Nigeria the politicians don't) Let's wait and see what happens |
Once again this country has proved to be a big joke |
Truly heartfelt Some of us simply refused to serve up north. It was a non-debatable position after schooling in sokoto for my 1st secondary school year and witnessing the kind of riots the north offers on two serious occassions(resulting in school closure back in '86) I know anywhere up north (even abuja) is not where I want to stay long in. I wonder how many corpers will accept to serve in jos next time or which parents will let their children go there |
Does anyone know if maurice iwu has further recommended nigerian elections to any other country as he did after the US elections |
Some time ago a similar analysis was released and trust our dimwit leaders all they could say was 'One Nigeria' and discard the report. Something tells me these americans with their usual foresight may be preparing for such eventuality while we with our myopic self-deluded atitude will ignore such critical information. |
I wonder how iwu became a professor Which school did he attend. He has no regard like all the other politicians for this country so they can say rubbish.he is truly a dolt. |

Nairaland Puzzle Posted By GoldenVal Hello there I think I have been able to decipher your puzzle but you might need to check some of ur spellings Pls confirm that the puzzle is correct as is so I can post my solution Cheers |
Nigerian politicians are extremely retarded. It is unbelievable that many of them are schooled abroad and trained abroad and dare not do or say d things they do here. D keyamo issue is a classic example of the retarded leadership we have here. |
Midas02 - A well thought-out idea but the issue is not ideas it is leadership. We do need a MASS TRANSIT SYSTEM in the true sense of the word but right now i think only FASHOLA amongst the governors (or even federal ministers) have the semblance of a leader willing to make a difference. Such ideas can be forwarded to him. In fact right now there is a stackholders meet being organized by Lagos State Govt. to galvanize investment in the Lagos Metro Project As for Yar'Adua and his Chinese backed Metro project, maybe we'll see some semblance of action when my 5 month old son graduates from university. Midas thanks once again for this effort but the truth is our leaders know what must be done they have travelled and seen how things are in the developed world but THEY SIMPLY ARE NOT INTERESETED IN DEVELOPING THE COUNTRY |

Man i think we should just let these muslims be. i don't think they can change and i feel they are a lost cause. I wonder what they would have done if a film like Da Vinci Code was made against them. make we leave dem jo no point wasting our time or having heart ache trying to understand what really drives them. na wa o |
mr. olabowale I want to ask you a question. Is it true that the QURAN has instructions that its faithfuls should kill the infidels (especially Jews)? If you meet an 'infidel' or 'Jew' will you kill him? If you were the leader of a country would you for example Put a woman who has been gang-raped in jail or put a school teacher 'empowering' little children make decisions and choices in jail. |
