Please and Please, run away from GOTV!!! I use their service, but it is one the most regrettable things I have done. Their service is very terrible, GOTV, will keep on cutting you off even if you have an active subscription, it is either you long into their self care online service, or you send sms that cost #10 to a particular code. The annoying thing is that this is not a guarantee that the error code will be cleared #fact, and of late such scrupulous disconnections is on the increase. So it means if you are sending through sms, it means you could spent up to #150 for sms in a week #fact. And they have poor customer service, those ingrates will never reply any email you send to them complaining about their services, you call them, nobody will answer you. I still have an active subscription when it expires am switching to Startimes, am just tired of them.

I advised you to download DirectX and install, if you can't do that, search the game directory in program files, you will see a DirectX installer there, just run it.

I noted that you have a 64bit OS, but you did not state the Bit mode of the app u r tryn 2 install. And ur complain, was wrong installation location. My question/suggestion had been, is the MsOffice 2010 that you are trying to install the 32bit version, if so, the installation path should be in the c:\ program files (x86) folder, if it is 64bit it should be at just "\ program files. The 64bit OS u have should not put a restriction to the type MsOffice package u install. And you keep on using the word Ms word, is it only ms word that you are trying to install or the entire package. You may also try using another installation package.

MsOffice automatically installs to a default location but you can still alter the installation directory. If the MsOffice is 32bit, it should be located at the x86 program folder in your drive c:

No safe mode is 4 diagnostics. So it appears ur system was infected by malware. do this,
Restart ur system in safe mode again
Open ur run dialog box[Windows key + R]
Inside the box type Msconfig.exe and hit enter
Click on startup
Click on Disable all button
Hit Apply, save and restart

Try and update ur AV if you have any and scan ur system. Download any AntiMalware software like Malwarebyte install and scan ur system.

jay4genius: Guys, please i think i got a problem with intalling apps on my pc. Each time i try to install or run an app or software a window similar to the command prompt window keeps popping up. It doesnt stay up to 2seconds afterwhich it disappears. Please what do i do. I attach a pic of the command prompt for more understanding

Does it prevent you from running or installing any app.

Yours is probably a registry problem arising from the Britanica you installed and Uninstalled. Next time it is advisable to Uninstall the defaulting app thru safe mode. Better still, use a third party uninstallation tool like "your uninstaller" which Uninstalls and removes any registry entry associated with the app. Download ccleaner and use it to scan and clean your system and registry first.

Just do a clean installation, I.e back up ur data and since you have been using Win8 b4 it crashed, and it appears ur recovery partition has been tampered with. Format and Install win8 again. It will give you an initial grace period to use it, before I forward it 2 ur mail. Btw what OS were u running initially.

It should give you a certain grace period prior to activation. Pls check make sure your system meets the minimum requirements for running Win8

Since you have tried an external drive, and the problem still persists, you could be looking at a malware. Restart your laptop in safe mode you can do this by pressing F8 repeatedly when ur system is booting, select the safe mode option thereafter, check if the problem persists in safe mode and report back to us.

Such scenario arises due to improper wiring of were the laptop is plugged to, it is not from your laptop, you must have observed, if it is not plugged to the socket, it wont spike you. I equally have a system that spikes me once in a while. If it gives you serious concern, you can call an electrician to check if the wiring is properly grounded.

The OS is not a problem and should not cost you much, the main issue like I said earlier is prepping up your system if it falls below the minimum system requirements of the OS u want to upgrade to.

The time of my laptop system is misbehaving. Its running late! I hv corrected it several times but the issue persists. I hv ensured tht its set to West Africa +1GMT time. I hv disabled its synchronisation to internet time. All tht didn't resolve the issue. Infact it has almost cost me critical appointments.

After a while I got tired of correcting it every time I use it and just left it. Now the date on it is 25th Dec

I am suspecting d clock works only when the system is on. This is quite strange because the battery is good. Except maybe the timer uses another battery, although I'm not sure about tht.

So pls I need advise! The system is HP pavilion DV6. I bought it in 2010.

You need to start first by checking your BIOS setting. Shut down your system, leave it for a while. Start the system again, press F2 to access your BIOS setting, check if your date and time is correct, if it's not then your CMOS ba3 needs replacement, other wise you still need to probe for some more settings from the OS

You may have to do a little research, to achieve that which you desire.

Depending on how you are installing, you can use the WinRar to extract the contents of the ISO image. But I will advice you to burn the ISO image to a disk(DVD) and use it for your installation.

U must have the prerequisite tool which is the upgrade disk. But before you start doing anything, u need to determine if the current configuration of the system you desire to upgrade, meets the requirements of the OS you want 2 upgrade to. If it does, you can go ahead, otherwise, u will need to upgrade your system, before upgrading ur OS.

Just download the latest Directx package and Install, you can do that from microsoft site. If after installation, and the game still shows that it is still missing, extract the directx package to a folder, locate the XINPUT_3.dll file, and copy to the game installation folder.
