TopBanter: Not a fan of Sowore but you are the illiterate you call him for not recognising that Sowore is 100% correct on this occasion.
How will any sane and progressive person not be livid with how Northerners are dangerously showing disregard for secularity over matters religion, meant to be private worship, should not be allowed to take precedence over like education calender?
People like you are simply not seeing the big picture. Was this done under Buhari? Was the insistence Sharia court be a mainstay in the SW vehemently agitated for under Buhari as the Sultan from Northern Nigeria is lending his voice to today ?
Northerners , lately, are trying to import religion into every aspect of Nigerian socio-economic life. In this case, to the extent of disrupting the education calender of children for weeks, when such is rare anywhere else in the world, and you are here attacking those speaking against the lunacy.
Savvy people know what the North is up to. You are just not bright enough to see the big picture. Stuuupiid man we are a federal state not a unitary state like Ghana where the central government can declare a fiat from the centre. |

Sowere is an illiterate. So if he is president he would dabble with what a Governor and his legislatures decide is the way forward for them. Sowere is so childish. |

Nept2 u talk well.
That is why I see some Nigeria utuber going to Ghana for the first time and say Accra is better than Nigeria. Nigeria is a federation of 36 states it is not a unitary state like Ghana. See the roads the Ghanaian government is building in Accra the government in Nigeria can only build such roads in Abuja. They cannot build them in any of the 36 states. |

DMerciful: Lets take a state like Bauchi for instance, are all the students Muslims? Why will you take a religious decision in a secular state?
State govts cannot just infringe upon the fundamental human rights of minority Christians Mr man in a federal state the Governor and his legislatures are lord and master. Nothing the Federal government can do about it. If there is a federal government college in that state that college would not close down. Sowere is an illiterate. |
Politics › Unitary V Federal State ???? by KnowAll(op): 4:08pm On Mar 04, 2025 |
Ghana is a Unitary state while Nigeria is a federal state. I am surprised that some Nigerians are surprised that the Governors of Bauchi state and some other Northern states make an issue of something that states have more less exclusive right to operate.
Schooling both primary & secondary schools including Universities states have every rights to open and close such schools at their whims. So they choosing to close their schools during Ramadan is within their rights.
Such rulings or assumptions cannot be done in a unitary state where the central government makes law for the whole country unlike in Nigeria.
So as a parent if u don’t like the laws in the north you move your wards to more tolerable states.
Even Aisha Yesufu that woman was criticising the northern states for closing schools she should know Nigeria is a federal state not a unitary state. |

In 2009 one dollar is equal to 1.4 Ghanian cedis today it is about 14 to one which means it has lost X 10 its value. Why do you expect Nigeria to be using 2009 as a base year even in the USA and UK you cannot use as a base year.
The rebasing was necessary and required at this moment to show the reality of the day. |

KevMitnick: Can someone tell the stupidly overconfident Op that modern warfare isn't the way he thinks it is. You wake up and think up this rubbish and you expect everyone to agree with you.
This is the same stupid over confidence that has become the end of many armies in the world. Even Russia got to learn the hard way.
You will learn the hard way that modern warfare isn't only about numbers and being battle tested. Fighting for over 20 years simply means the NA is over stretched and fatigued for fighting an unending and need less war.
How many allies do we have? You think if you invade any African country, their allies will sit down and watch you do it?
Or you think the country's military will run or scamper for safety when they see you coming?
Because you have been fighting bandits and BH who don't even have advanced military equipment, you think you are Battle tested...I laugh in glorious bewilderment.
How do people survive with such stuppidity in their brains? How are they able to cross the road daily? Don’t be scared because we are not invading your friends up North. Because I know u are one of those sabotaging our efforts. But let us say the truth Soldier for Soldier we would overrun those people up north in less than 24 hours. |

Corruption within the military alone will frustrate the invasion, war strategies can easily be bought from top generals..
Then religious factor... If the country we are invading is an Islamic country we will never win.. I know what I'm saying.. We would overthrow that Government within 24 hours that I can assure you. But would happen after that is anyone’s guess. |

kettykin: The question remains, If Biafra had been an independent nation with a fully equipped military, would Nigeria, without external backing of Britain, Russia, Egypt andArabworld, and without resorting to starvation of women and children and sabotage of farmlands, have overrun Biafra in 24 hours—or even in 24 years?
The truth is, the idea of Nigeria overrunning a fully prepared Biafra would remain a delusional fantasy, not even achievable in a thousand years. To be sincere the Biafrans put a good fight. But then the Nigerian army at the time where a colonial army that had never seen a war so there would be a bit of rustiness. But today’s army have been fighting for 20 years and they are battle tested. |

kettykin: Not just West Africa but much of Africa except for Egypt, Ethiopia, and South Africa.
But the big joke of Africa and of the millennium is still the Biafran military.
Biafra military holds that ace anytime and any day and any where.
According to Taffy Williams Give me 10,000 Biafrans for six months, and we'll build an army that would be invincible on this continent. Don’t even talk of Ethiopia they are useless, they needed the help of smaller Eritrea to defeat the rebels in tygry region of Ethiopia. It is like Nigeria needing the help of Cameroon to defeat the Rebels in the SE region of Nigeria. |

kettykin: Not just west Africa but much of Africa except for Egypt, Ethiopia and south Africa. Probably only Egypt. SA has not really fought a war in about 30 years and most of their experience fighters are all retired. What you have is this new aje butter fighters that have not seen a live bullet in operation. Nigeria would easily overrun SA but they may not be able to hold it because of SA arsenals. So yes we can overrun them but in the long run be defeated. |

That is because they are battle tested. Being fighting Boko Haram for 20 years now. And With her air components it would be easy for Nigeria to overthrow any government in west Africa.
But the big question would be can they hold down after the deed is done. That I will say No. Even America that quickly subdued Saddam Hussien faced a ferocious battle keeping the peace.
What do you guys think.
