The doctrinal mixture of the Old with the New will only bring confusion. The believers should strictly abide by the New Testament Scriptures. There is no reason for rape to be defined along marriage lines since bodily autonomy is a right that is not waved even in marriage. For this reason the concept of "rape" in marriage is meaningless unless where explicitly defined. And since the the Criminal Code 357 does not redefine rape for marriage, rape, even in marriage remains a criminal offense.

It is only in the penal code which applies specifically to northern states in Nigeria that you would find the redefinition of rape along marital lines. What that clause does in that situation is nothing but an excuse for rape in marriage, and this only in the northern states of Nigeria.
