fergie001: On Wednesday, 26th day of March 2025, the House of Representatives passed an additional 42 Constitutional Amendment Bills for second reading. This makes a total 81 Constitution Amendment Bills passed for second reading this week. These bills have subsequently been referred to the Committee on Review and Constitution for further legislative action. PREVIOUS THREAD: https://www.nairaland.com/8381718/39-constitution-amendment-bills-passed#134730418 Even if only about 1/3rd of all of this is eventually passed into law, that constitution would have been solidified as the most official useless agreement on the planet. A country in the hands of kakistocrats will ever remain useless to those who are ruled by them. |

GistMedia0: Seoul, South Korea – A motorcyclist who disappeared into a massive sinkhole on Monday has been found deceased following an extensive 18-hour search by first responders. The incident occurred when a 65-foot-wide and 65-foot-deep sinkhole suddenly opened up beneath the road in Seoul, swallowing the rider along with his motorcycle. Witnesses reported seeing the man, identified by officials as being in his 30s, riding along the road moments before the ground gave way. Emergency crews worked tirelessly, pumping out water and digging through layers of dirt to locate the victim. Authorities have yet to determine the cause of the sinkhole, and investigations are ongoing to assess whether underlying infrastructure issues or natural factors contributed to the tragedy. Officials have urged caution in the area and are conducting further inspections to prevent similar occurrences. Even though the man died, rescuers persevered until they found his body and retrieved it. If say na Nigeria this one happen, people dey wey go even work tirelessly like that to find person so? |

BuyMeLand: ➜Man arranges his wife's marriage to her lover after finding out about their affair. A man decided to get his wife married to her lover after finding out about their affair. The man from Uttar Pradesh's Sant Kabir Nagar district in India, said he would take care of the two children his marriage produced, a demand accepted by the wife. Babloo (in pink shirt) and Radhika got married in 2017, and have two children aged 7 and 9. Babloo often left home to earn his livelihood. However, Radhika began having an affair with a young man in the village and the relationship continued for a long time. Babloo's family later came to know about Radhika's affair with the man and informed Babloo about it. Babloo then tried to work things out with his wife, but when he was unable to do so, he informed the villagers about his wife's affair with her lover. In an unusual turn of events, Babloo decided that he would get his wife married to her lover. He first went to court and solemnised the marriage of his wife and her lover, and then took them to a temple, where they exchanged garlands and wedding vows. A video shared online shows the wife crying as her she married her lover in the presence of her husband. The husband's only request was that he keeps his two children, a demand that Radhika agreed to after marrying her lover. If this is really all there is to this story, then I must say that this man is a sage and a very mature human being at that. |

That child was not born by the people in power but by two incompetent adults. Those two incompetent adults, aware of their lack, decided to have this boy and then let the boy go out to work dangerous jobs to provide them a life they could not provide for him. In my opinion, Section 357 is clear with anybody at the first sentence but it is indeed a loophole with the 'married woman'. Does a woman marry herself? But it's not a loophole, though. Like I said, It takes an intelligent lawyer to argue it. Unfortunately, most lawyers aren't willing to stand up for what is right but rather what works. Take a close look again at the content of section 6 of 357 below.

When the school resumed in January, I went to pick them only to see that the sister had registered my kids in a school in the area they live. I wanted to take my kids back by force but her sister said I would refund her the money she used in registering them in the new school. Photo Credit- Gist Lovers In March 2025, the gospel music community has found itself deep in murky waters as debate that has simmered for decades now becomes a contemporary battle of wits: Should gospel music ministers be paid for their talents in the church? The controversy reignited when Pastor Femi Lazarus of Light Nation Church publicly criticized gospel artists for charging fees to perform at church events, sparking a heated exchange with Nigerian singer Timi Dakolo and others. Social media platforms have become the battlefield with opinions, from accusations of commercialization to defenses of artists’ livelihoods. At the heart of this clash lies a deeper question: Is gospel music a sacred ministry to be offered freely, or a skill deserving of rewards mostly monetarily? This piece is set to explore the controversy, analyzing scriptural references that suggest gospel ministers should not demand payment for their talents within the church. If she dies from this act or has serious injuries from the prolonged hurtful sex, what does it become? I beg to differ. Section 357 of the Criminal Code is not at all vague in regard to this issue. Nigeria does not have a lot of lawyers bold enough and willing to go against the grain on these sorts of issues is the reason why it seems the Law is not on the side of the victim. |

HandsomeSkeleto: ➜Quote the section under our criminal laws where the law recognises 'rape' in Lagos. In fact, go do research on the legal definition of rape. Law is law. In law, personal opinion doesn't count.Court of public opinion has no business with Court of Law. In case you are not aware, your laws in Lagos have to be in compliance with the Laws at the National level. The clause that somewhat excuses rape in marriage exists only in the legal definition of marriage in Northern states of Nigeria.
