This is double speak on your part. First of all, the headlines states it clearly.... every other point in the article supports that the sector is now deregulated. If the report is putting the reason for the increment in cost on deregulation, how then do you arrive at a contrary conclusion from what is written there in clear black and white.
I think you presented a publication that did not support what you are trying to argue about, I am sorry
.
Fine.. throw out the article completely so we can move on. 🙄

Now tell us, when was the deregulation of petrol implemented in Nigeria? 🤔

■ Okay this font is better. You sent a report that you claim supports your argument that deregulation has not started, then you are now contending with the same publication as if I was the one that presented it.
The report itself does not state that deregulation has been implemented even though it attempts to put forward the opinion that the rise in the cost of fuel and living should be blamed on deregulation. Note that it was not written by me but by Nigerian media houses which are notoriously known for trash-riddled ideas meant to skew the facts presented within in favor of their paymasters. undecided

My main reason is to find out from you where you get this fact that deregulation has indeed been implemented against the reality on the ground in Nigeria. undecided

Yes it does. One of the places where it was stated is in the second paragraph on "Impact on fuel prices".
Are you for real? angry
Impact on fuel prices
Fuel prices surged after subsidies were removed. Before deregulation, petrol prices were capped, shielding consumers from global oil market fluctuations. Now, prices are tied to international crude oil costs and exchange rates, causing immediate strain on households and businesses.
The cost of living has risen sharply, with fuel prices driving up transportation costs and electricity generation.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), inflation spiked from 32.15 percent to 32.7 percent in September. Public frustration has been loud, reminiscent of the 2012 “Occupy Nigeria” protests. Many see subsidy removal as an added burden on those already economically strained.
Fuel Prices surged after the subsidy was removed yet Nigeria is expected to pay well over Naira 5.6 Trillion in Fuel Subsidies by the end of December 2024.
▶ How come the removed subsidy continues to cost Nigeria even more than before the announcement was made?
▶ Are you certain this was all a result of deregulation as claimed by the writer of that report?
▶ Why is Nigeria losing money instead of saving money if the fuel subsidy has been removed?
▶ Why is NNPCL still regulating the price of Fuel in Nigeria if deregulation has occurred? grin
▶ Why is the country in talks with Dangote as we speak to provide it with crude oil at a subsidized cost — fuel subsidies will now be paid maybe entirely to Dangote — if deregulation has happened? undecided
▶ The article attempts to blame the rise in the cost of fuel and cost of living on the deregulation of petroleum but none of the facts point to this being in fact to blame now, does it? undecided

■ Some of you don’t want to be enlightened, even when facts are thrown at you. Now, take a look at any drone pictures of Aba. You will still see the same 4 and 5 stories massing out as far as your eyes can reach. That’s where the majority of Aba residents live, the masses. The rich and upper middle class don’t like living in those 4 stories block of flats, they prefer to live in duplexes. Go to GRA, Ogborhill, Ekenna, Okpu Umuobo etc to see the rich.
I understand the reason why you find it unbelievable is because in the SW, the poor and “middle class“ live in shanties or derelict houses. Travel to the East and see for yourself.

The report that you sent basically explains what deregulation is, what the government hopes to achieve with it, other countries that have implemented it and the models they use, etc and not that they are still discussing it, abi it was another link you wanted to send.
Does that there tell you that the Government has in fact implemented deregulation for you to claim deregulation as a fact in Nigeria though? For instance, are marketers currently purchasing petrol directly from the refineries as we speak? huh

Matters like this are not hard. Since petrol is now deregulated, you are free to claim any figure you like.
If you claim that you sold 50 million litres per day, no wahala, when time for account reach, you must show income that is commensurate with the 50 million litres per day.
Incase their calculator don spoil, let me help them calculate it down. So we will be expecting them to show "Receivables" of 50,000,000 x 1070 = 53,500,000,000 naira per day.
I believe that is 53,5 billion naira income per day.
Non be wen dat time reach dem go come tell us say na 5 million litres they be wan write o,
When did this deregulation in fact happen? The government is still in talks on when and how to implement deregulation but una don already conclude say petrol done dey deregulated... how come? undecided

I am sorry, what? These people are murderers and many of them will walk free from this. They will become husbands and fathers — assuming they already aren't just that — and will probably continue their murderous ways beyond this. They may graduate to serial killing or killing for hire; the bloodlust is hard to do away with. Some of them would even turn to the organ trade— kidnapping and killing at random in the name of organ harvesting— as we note has become a norm in that country. ■ Alot of Nigerians have travelled out as in Japa to hustle and make things better for themselves especially now that T pain has messed up the country.
I have asked them if they intend coming back and most of them told me never will they come back to settle in Nigeria.
A close relative of mine who is aged and just came back from Canada told me that she can't stay in Canada because the cold there is too much that on the last day of her flight back to Nigeria she felt she won't survive as the cold that hit her was as if very hot pepper entered her body.
■ She told me that she does not even understand their hospital that during her stay in Canada you will barely even see Doctors as they will be communicating with you via WhatsApp call that unless it is emergency will they attend to you
■ and if they even attend to you they will tell you no drugs for cold that you are okay.
■ My question is at what age should people that japa come back to Naija ?
So, your close-relative thinks the world outside of Nigeria is comprised only of cold Canada, abi? I ask since you claim the cold is her only reason for wanting to move back to Nigeria. undecided

Stop gobbling up the stewpid lies people feed you which you then turn around and broadcast in your arrogance.

Dentists are a dime a dozen here and you can simply walk into a dentist's office even at the department store on your way to pick up a dress or shoe. I used to use the Dentist's office at the local Sears store where I shop to handle all of my dental needs when I go to change my tires or buy clothes or shoes at the same store. The service, as of the last time I was there cost only $75 and that took clear of both X-ray and cleaning(bi-annual). undecided

▶ Nigeria currently has over 20,000,000 out-of-school children with that number slated to balloon in the coming months if things continue to rush downhill as they have the last 16 months.
▶ Over 40 million Nigerians have been thrown into multidimensional poverty in just the last 16 months and that number continues to rise as the government has still no tangible plans in place to solve the economic situation, food affordability problems, and ever-growing problem of insecurity that continues to drive people away from their farms
▶ over 180 million Nigerians now live in poverty situation with companies laying off workers and leaving the country every so often while businesses continue to shut down operations daily as a result of profitability issues
▶ Nigerians have had to adjust to feeding formulas that have them eating less than 3 square meals a day
▶ Hospitals continue to shut down due to a lack of staff in some areas, a lack of funds, and low patronage.....

■ he could have claimed trespass or assault.....
■ and it's normal for the police to invite the accuser when they find out the true story ....
■ Whats pertinent is that mistakes have been made and both sides must have learnt their lessons.
Wrong! It is NOT NORMAL to have a man arrested or taken into custody merely on grounds that another made a complaint against him. undecided

2. Arrests are NOT NORMALLY made based on claims but on evidence of investigations. Read the Police Act 2020 for details on when an arrest can or cannot be made for more information.

3. Again, nothing of what you claim is NORMAL because arrests are instead meant to be made only on grounds of evidence and not accusations.

4. Mistakes made here violated the man's right and the public is right to stand with him to see justice served and equally an end to such violations in the future FOR ALL NIGERIANS, not just this man. undecided

Don't just marry because it is the societal norm. There are irresponsible men out there; if you marry one of them, you will regret getting married. Whether it's 50% or 100%, choose a man who is ready to shoulder responsibilities.
If you would like to start from scratch with a man and work together to elevate your lives, make sure he is a true team player. There is no teamwork when you are married to a lazy and pompous man.
Your partner doesn't have to be wealthy, but he should be someone with visible potential or a clear vision, not a lazy man.
It is okay to marry a guy if you see signs that he is likely to be a family man. Family men are responsible and disciplined, making them unlikely to be lazy. Even if they don't have much, they work hard to provide for their families.
Why not consider not marrying at all? All of this try-your-luck/game-of-change you lot think when you think marriage, why not save yourselves all of that drama and potential regret by not marrying at all? Haba! huh
