kpompey: ■ Seems you are a dunce. 4000 riyal in saudi is more than enough to survive if you adopt the same living pattern in Nigeria. On feeding, a typical Nigeria family of 5 living in Saudi can not spend 500 SAR even if they are glutton, and accommodation is in the range of 700-1200 SAR for a flat. Most Nigerians earn between 6000 and 15000 SAR except student on scholarship who gets subsidized meal from government and most times a stipend less than 1000SAR at all level. ■ Nigeria run by Tinubu and his fellow thieves like Dangote is enslaved. Such assertion from African richest man tells us he is not a superman, but a thief corroborate by fellow thieves. Nigeria should go back to a state of anarchy, where we can choose our leaders ourselves, and not by sham election they organised and later generates some random values in their own favor. Next election, voters should approach coalition centres with petrol, any state Tinubu won via rigging, the returning officers and his cohort should be burn to ashes. Finally, a response from someone who has experience of life and living in Saudi Arabia to the rescue. 2. Imagine someone comparing life and living in Nigeria to that obtained in Saudi Arabia. |

phemray: So it means Asiwaju decision is right, correct and irreversible. We should learn and adjust to leave with it. They should make jobs available. Ok next? Price in Saudi Arabia of a liter of petrol IS NOT cheaper than the price of the same in Nigeria. The average price in Nigeria is about the same if not more, depending on the location purchased. For instance, in River's state Nigeria, the average pump price is around Naira 1300-1800 which is significantly higher than the price in Saudi Arabia. So, Dangote's claim was a total lie! And your Asiwaju is a terror to Nigerians and the economy. |

U too mumu sha Plastics are also made from crude oil sources. Petroleum jelly is equally sourced from crude oil. Are the prices of those equally internationally set? What the heck is this one attempting to argue for Pete's sake? pharmade: ■ Pls convert the tax and other cost involved plus cost per litre to dollars, then get the equivalent in naira, then you can relate to dangote's data. Aramco is same as subsidises nnpc, but that doesn't work at pump prices. Why should you have to do all of that when you can simply compare the direct costs to the consumer on each end which happens to be what the man claimed was cheaper? |

NinjaMetahuman: the minimum wage of Saudi is not enough for them to survive, same way it's not enough to survive in Nigeria. Minimum is not living wage. Learn the difference. Stop lying! Saudi minimum wage is by far better than what you have in Nigeria, a slave wage. i.e. falls below the $2.15/day abject poverty line. |

Islie: ■ FACT CHECK: Is petrol 40% cheaper in Nigeria than in Saudi Arabia as claimed by Dangote? Dangote lied to Nigerians , and that is the whole truth! Shadomaan7: ■ The price of petrol in Nigeria is now lower than in Saudi Arabia. That one na confirmed news Yet more lies! In August of 2024, a Litre of Petrol in Saudi Arabia went for approximately 2.33 Riyadh which is approximately 0.66 U.S. cents. The same amount of petrol in Nigeria sold for approximately Naira 800 which was about 0.48 cents back a month ago. Of course, right now the cost of Petrol in Nigeria at about Naira 1000 has closed the gap and is now selling for pretty much what is obtained in Saudi Arabia if not higher, as of September 2024. |

Ofunaofu: A civil servant working in the office of the Head of Civil Service, who is not authorized to speak, also confirmed that he has received a new minimum wage payment for September 2024. “I got an alert around 2 pm on Thursday. I am hoping the arrears will come too”, he told DAILY POST. Some of the federal workers confirmed that they received an additional N40,000 to their previous salary, as consequential adjustment. The implication meant that over 1.2 million workers under the federal government’s payment have begun to receive payment of the new minimum wage. On Tuesday Chairman of the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission, Ekpo Nta, confirmed that the government has approved the upward review of the consolidated public service salary structure, CONPSS in line with the Minimum Wage (Amendment) Act, 2024.

Leadership86: By Blessing Otobong-Gabriel The Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, and the Creative Economy has launched a groundbreaking initiative to refurbish and revitalize six national museums across the country. In a statement issued by the Special Assistant Media and Publicity, Nneke Ikem Anibeze said the Museum includes the National Museums in Ilorin, Birnin Kebbi, Uyo, Owerri, Gidan Makama Museum in Kano and Zazzau Emirate Museum in Kaduna State. The statement reads, "the project, done in collaboration with the National Commission for Museums and Monuments, aims to preserve Nigeria's rich cultural heritage and make its historical treasures more accessible to the public. "The refurbishment program, set to begin in October 2024, will focus on infrastructure upgrades, enhanced security systems, and improved exhibit spaces. By incorporating modern technologies and sustainable practices, the initiative seeks to create interactive and educational environments that celebrate Nigeria's diverse cultural legacy". The Minister, Barrister Hannatu Musa Musaw said in New York on Thursday, that the significant project underscores the Ministry's commitment to preserving Nigeria's rich cultural heritage and enhancing public access to the nation's historical treasures. “Our museums are custodians of Nigeria's culture and history. This refurbishment project will not only preserve our heritage for future generations but also promote cultural tourism and education in Nigeria. We are committed to making our museums more accessible, engaging, and reflective of our rich artistic tradition in line with His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and our Ministry’s 8-Point Plan”. Explain to me how this is any different from spending billions on refurbishing VP Lodge, AsoRock-only Hospital, etc.. Are these people everlastingly incapable and allergic to caring for that which directly impacts the actual people of Nigeria— the millions of destitute who will never visit any of these museums? |

About 40,000 Nigerians are illegally detained in your prisons, some for weeks, others for many years. What VDM has done here is open up for discussion on an issue that many Nigerians like to pretend does not exist—corruption in the jail systems which allow the rich to walk free while the poor are held in their place. This move is commendable. My hope is that others who have been affected or are witnesses could equally speak out. |
