vowiski: ■ Na today you start to see exposure for Nigeria? Be like you never reach 18 years.. Is this as worse as what happened in Oputa Panel? Or the Diezani Alison-Madueke exposure .. Has the oil sector improved ? Look for how to make enough money ■ VDM is only increasing his publicity CV , all for money too. I don't follow your reasoning at all. ↪ Are you somehow insinuating that the onus should lie with whistleblowers as far as improving Nigeria? ↪ Or are you suggesting that the whistleblowers are to ignore the truth because no improvement is being seen by you in any sector? 2. Yes, VDM is a social media personality and his business does not make noise to make money. Why do you somehow have a problem with him revealing the truth regarding crimes being committed in Nigeria even at that? |

Armanipounds: Are these legislators sick in the head?? Someone did not honour your invitation, and you're saying you want to invoke your powers to arrest who appeared before you? Are we normal in this country? Seems Bobrisky is now bigger than the National Assembly. Welcome to the house of lunatics that represents Nigeria. |

Please clue us in since we have absolutely no clue what you are going on about. 2. Even if we are to assume he can only speak behind a camera in his room, how is that your problem or a problem in this case? |

TinubuCriminal: So the entire Falana family will be arrested? For what? EmekaBlue: Nigeria house of reps should face better issues abeg. What is this?! The clowns would rather look to quiet the situation by threatening VDM who is himself removed from the main problem. The issue is real. The EFCC and Prison board have confirmed it by their actions this last week, so it needs to be dealt with. The problem is the House of Reps seems unprepared to in fact call on those who should be. |

danvon: ■ He could have done a cleaner better job, that's the point. Dragging Falz and Falana was unnecessary. ■ The way it stands now Outcome 1: Future Nigerians might be reluctant to speak out against corruption in the future for fear of being shutdown. Outcome 2: Future Nigerians might be too eager to speak against corruption to the point where they throw accusations without proper evidence, which would 'ironically' hurt lots of innocent and upright people in the country. Outcome 3: Future Nigerians would learn how to speak out against corruption in a way that does long term good for the society. Outcome 3, .is what people like you are trying so hard to fight. Cleaner job in a dirty-corruption-riddled country that seeks to silence every attempt made by opposition every chance it gets. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣This statement from you is ultra hilarious! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Nonsense outcomes! How and when did VDM become the setter of standards on how to whistleblow for crying out loud... 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 |

The one who recorded the conversation and passed it on to VDM already revealed he exists. Nothing on the recording implicated VDM as part of the crimes committed and hence being investigated by the House of Rep. So, why is he, VDM, being summoned if not to waste time? |

danvon: ■ Machiavelli in his Discourse on Livy teaches us about the power of accusations A truthful accusation can strengthen a society and improve the laws and systems for the better. A false accusation (calumny) can do the complete opposite, it can destroy a society and enable corruption. If Verydarkman had contacted his lawyers and gone straight to the House of Rep once he had Bobrisky's phone call, it would done much good for himself and the country, but he was too impulsive he moved too soon and accused important people with little to no evidence. "You come at the king you best not miss" I will like to see how it ends. Are you folks eternally dumb or what? As a result of releasing the video as he did, not only has he forced the hand of the EFCC, the Prison Comptroller's office, and even the House of Reps to investigate an issue that has been the norm for many decades in Nigeria, but he has successfully forced the focus of millions of Nigerians on the issue to ensure it is put out like many other attempts before his. So, what in the world are you fuming in the mouth for? |

D1official: ■ Onitcha/Awka/Nnewi have good power supply, make inquiries and stop making noise. I'm not a bala blu supporter so I have no reason to yarn dust,it actually stated during obiano administration though. The man's claim is that about 5.4 million households in the entire Nation have access to 20 hours of electricity each day. Remember, that this is a country of over 200 million people, that is over 26 million households; also remember this is about households — businesses are not even being considered at all. What is good about this power you describe? What are you yarning when nothing has improved and only a handful of people have access while so many more others are left in pitch darkness as a result? |

D1official: ■ I can attest to that, Anambra light is within that range.. No capping Stop lying! Have you been everywhere in Anambra State to make this ridiculous claim of yours? According to the Ministry, only about 12.6 million households out of over 26 million households are connected to the discos, and this claim is being made of only 5.4 million of those households. So, how can you come out to claim an entire state of Anambra has 20 hours of electricity? Una brand of mumu dey too much abeg! |

iwaeda: Do you enjoy 20 hours minimum Light in your area? Next time you ask for this kind of survey, abeg ask people to state the Community or nearest street crossing, town/neighborhood, and then state. As you can see, most of the responses don't help at all in narrowing any of the claims. Imagine someone claiming that there is an improved electricity supply in Lagos State when there are communities in the same Lagos that have not even gotten electricity in many weeks. |

Politics › Re: Over 40% Of Nigerians Now Enjoy 20 Hours Regular Electricity Supply – Minister by Kobojunkie: 3:02pm On Sep 30, 2024 |
CAPITALBEE: ■ Electricity supply has improved in some quarters in Nigeria tbh, we can't neglect the fact that increased gas supply to the very many thermal plants has contributed immensely to this improved supply (Only a few percentage of the electricity generated come from the hydroelectric power plants - for those mentioning rainy season) - The segregation of consumers into different bands, mass metering agenda, and the imposition of a bilateral agreement between the discos and gencos is part of the few changes the ministry of power has initiated over the years to remove notable bottlenecks and further spur improvement in the sector. 👉🏻 To the assertion of the Minister of Power that 40% of electricity consumers enjoy not less than 20hrs power supply - A report from statistica says the total number of electricity consumers registered with the eleven discos stands at 12.6million as of September 2023. Given this, only about 5.04million consumers across the country are been referred to here. 👉🏻 This in itself is still very poor given how much improvement is ideal in the sector taken cognizance of the number of Nigerian homes and businesses that need to enjoy steady power supply to spur economic growth. Data source: https://www.statista.com/statistics/1306073/registered-electricity-customers-in-nigeria-by-distribution-company/#:~:text=As%20of%20September%202023%2C%20over,as%20of%20the%20said%20period. So, 40% of Nigerian households with access to electricity is just 5.04 million and not even 10.6 million households, and we are to believe these particular 5.04 million households can enjoy 20 hours of electricity per day on the total 5500MW of electricity generated by Nigeria each day? |

MT: ■ Electricity tariff is expensive all over the world. Would Nigerians prefer not to have electricity when it’s needed or manage their use of electricity as it is done all over the world, while paying the fair price? The 40% enjoying the electricity are complaining that meter is running. Nigerians have been so used to cheap things that they don’t want to pay commensurate cost for services being consumed. Stop arguing Odi abeg! Can 40% of Nigerian households afford Band A is the question I asked. This shalaye nonsense no enter at all. |

ogododo: Oniru, with tweets from the handle @HRH_bankeoniru on X, wrote, “Following the EndSARS unrest, and during the panel of inquiry, the Lagos State Government’s initial funding offer was met with resistance. “@sarahibrahim and associates then consulted Mr. Femi Falana regarding the substantial sum proposed for advisory purposes. Despite Mr. Falana’s counsel to accept the funds as a gift, I deemed it incongruous to accept financial compensation from those we were opposing, fearing it may undermine our integrity. “The first funds Sarah called me to pick up was N1.5m. The second was N1m. I have proofs. Messages to back it up. The #endsars coordinators shared millions of money severally. Going back and forth to pick a Ghana must-go filled with cash at Alausa Ikeja. “On two separate occasions, I entrusted my personal assistant to collect money from Sarah, ensuring she took photographs for evidentiary purposes. Afterward, I shared images of the funds received on EndSARS United and Competent Nigerians platforms for public dissemination as giveaways. Adeshina Ademola Ogunlana of blessed memories was the only lawyer that stood genuinely for the endsars. He can never be bought.” ‘Lagos offered N100 million’ Why is Lagos State engaging in this underhanded nonsense against the instructions of the tribunal? Where Falana to ensure the Government does the right thing abeg! Why is Sanwo-Olu, whose government was indicted for the evil killing of EndSars Protesters now trying to use the money in bribing people who have nothing to do with the case? The moment is meant to be compensation and ought to be sent to the family of his victims. This man na just a wicked thief. |

Biodun556: ■ I think gas shortage usually restrict them to 5000 mw, they can generate far more than that if gas is available consistently The Ministry of Power, some years ago said it would need to generate and efficiently distribute about 40,000MW if it were to in fact serve all personal homes in Nigeria alone— not businesses. |

Focusmind: I may agree with this assertion from my own personal experience. My area is under "band A", and we have light up to 20 to 24 hours daily. However, the charges are huge. You pay N225 instead of the N65. But I am using solar to offset the cost. I power my house on solar during the day and NEPA at night, to manage the IKEDC bill on band A users. Can 40% of Nigerian Households even afford this Band A? |
