Nonsense! Did the report tell you that Buhari was in any way directly impacted by this event or any of the numerous others in Northern Nigeria, including Katsina? The man is spending his retirement safely tucked away by the many millions he took from your future and that of your unborn children. There is nothing like sowing evil and not reaping "good" in any of that for him. undecided

iwaeda:
The Tinubu administration is considering suspending tariffs on rice and other food commodities’ imports for 150 days to rein in hunger nationwide.
Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga told Peoples Gazette that a memo was already circulating across government departments, even though the policy was not imminent as of Monday evening.
The memo leaked online Monday to nationwide excitement, but the president’s spokesman said it was a regrettable error.
“The policy was mistakenly circulated,” Mr Onanuga told The Gazette by telephone Monday evening. “We are still deliberating internationally from the agric ministry to other agencies on how best to proceed with the policy.”
Mr Onanuga apologized for the error and said the government was not oblivious to its potential impact on longsuffering Nigerians.
Longsuffering Nigerians! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I was here on Nairaland before you tiny-brained lot invaded the place; I said the same thing then that I am saying now but no one listened. Fast forward 12 years later, tiny-brained Nigerians still distract themselves from the major problems while their lives and futures are mortgaged away from the criminal class they call politicians. (Nigeria presents a scenario literally worse than that presented in the book, Animal Farms.) But here you lot are fighting over who's more bigoted of the tribes and you think I am hypocritical for pointing out how demented that is?🤔

Given the severe economic hardship Nigerians have been enduring since President Bola Tinubu assumed office, it is perplexing that anyone would have voted for him. Tinubu openly declared during his campaign that he would "continue from where Buhari stopped," despite the widely condemned impact of Buhari's policies on the nation's economy. This raises serious questions about the judgment of those who supported him and the APC. In fact, I think anyone who voted for Tinubu needs to get their head examined. What do you think?
Mind your business and stop creating these ridiculous attention-seeking threads all over the place! undecided

Kudos to the man and i hope he gets good treatment
SW forest? Unless you line the borders of your every community with plants poisonous to cattle, I doubt you can get rid of them. And I don't know what is stopping farmers and communities who have suffered several losses from supposed Fulani herdsmen from doing just this. We are all aware that the herders bring their cattle through many of these communities to graze, so the logical thing would be to make the settlements not conducive for this particular activity. undecided

This fracas happened here in Ondo state in Sango road, Akure last week. Some Fulanis cow went to destroy a farmer tomatoes farm, the farmer called forces on them and the fulani negotiated to pay him 1m for damages but never did. The farmer called Amotekun and they went together, the Amotekun's seized their cows and are about to convey them away, then the fulanis speak to their cow to follow them. Naso wahala take burst, the herder that chop the amotekun man hand was killed immediately by the Amotekuns
He was killed? They killed him? Are the Amotekuns deputized police officers or what? I have yet to see any report of the incident that indicates the herder who inflicted harm on the Amotekun guy was killed. All the stories, including the video instead indicate that the Amotekuns ran from the scene. Can you please provide some sort of source to back up your claim? undecided

Why didn't the forces who negotiated the supposed Naira 1 million cause the Fulani herders to pay up right there and then? undecided

This Fulani issue needs to be tackled urgently,Fulani killed 5 men and rape their wives in Enugu the other day,now look at what is happening again ??
Na mouth dem dey use tackle them? At least the Amotekun tried with their limited intelligence. (I can't for the life of me understand why they shot up in the air when their attackers were coming at them with weapons.) undecided

Look, like the woman in the video said, these bandits mean the people harm and they will not stop until something is done, the people need to come up with ways to at least deter them from bringing their cattle down to the south and all affected areas. My thinking is that farmers begin to plant cattle-poisonous weeds(yes, there are actual weeds that can kill cattle which in Nigeria are pests that farmers would benefit from eliminating) alongside their crops to deter the herders from bringing their cattle down to their side. Farmers can plant these weeds along the very edges of their farms while warning local livestock farmers of the presence of these weeds. Cattle herders know most all of the weeds in Africa that are poisonous to their cattle and would want to keep them away from farms where the presence of these weeds is sighted. Some of these cattle-poisonous weeds in Africa are the African rue, Parthenium, Showy crotalaria(also known as rattlebox or rattleweed), Orpaleki(also known as jimsonweed or devil's snare), famine weed, and ragwort. Most of these weeds are not known to be poisonous to humans. undecided

If the herders continue to make their presence known in those areas, even without their cattle then it should become clear at that point that the locals should be ready to defend themselves without all this grazing nonsense added. undecided

Wow, because I'm sure the governor just loves being accused of breaking the constitution, that's definitely how he wants to spend his time defending himself against petty accusations.
Fubara's actions in installing a caretaker committee are unconstitutional— Sections 7 and 8 of the Federal Constitution. And I believe the people of River's state — not these fraudsters — ought to call him out on it and even take him to court in that case. undecided
PoliticsRe: Amaewhule Led Rivers Assembly Accuses Fubara Of constitutional breaches by Kobojunkie: 1:45am On Jul 09, 2024
Bigboytinz:
The Martins Amaewhule-led Rivers State House of Assembly has accused Governor Siminialayi Fubara of breaching the provisions of the 1999 Constitution as amended.
In a letter dated July 8, 2024, signed by its factional Speaker, Martins Amaewhule, and sent to Fubara on Monday, the House highlighted the governor’s actions that breached the Constitution.
■ In the letter, the House drew Fubara’s attention to the 2024 Appropriation Bill, saying he was yet to present it before a duly constituted House of Assembly under the speakership of Amaewhule in line with Section 121 of the Constitution.
Addressing the governor, the House said, “You are yet to present the Rivers State Appropriation Bill, 2024 in line with Section 121(1) of the 1999 Constitution as altered and in compliance with the judgement delivered on the 22nd day of January 2024 by Honourable Justice J.K Omotosho of the Federal High Court of Nigeria.
This Martins Amaewhule is guilty o fraud as it is. The Nigerian Constitution states that he automatically lost his post when he switched parties some time ago. So, his claim to lead the Rivers State House of Assembly is unconstitutional and criminal. undecided
