These people calling for protest like what happened in Kenya think violence is the solution
Violence? The protestors in Kenya did not engage in violence; there are numerous evidences against such claims made against them. Several members of their own government have attested to this undecided

∆ Nigerians did end Sars, what changed apart from some few promises.
Kenya just did their own version, they have been given some promises and everything is back to normal.

Nigerians have been there and done that.
Kenyans did not get promises; what they got were results. Those of them who died did not die in vain and the ones who were kidnapped are being returned home as we speak. The people are working on their next demand as we speak. undecided

Nigerians did EndSars but Nigerians gave up before they got result. They caved and accepted mere promises rather than results. As expected, those who died never got justice and those who were unjustly imprisoned remain locked up many years later. Why? Because Nigerians never really made up their mind to see an end to the problems. They simply went out to play and ran away when the heat got turned up by the very one's they said they went after. undecided
FamilyRe: A Plea To Nigerians Abroad. by Kobojunkie:
The best thing Nigerians abroad can do for Nigerians in Nigeria is to cut off that lifeline that has kept the people suffering and smiling even going as far as celebrating the criminals they have in office. A year without that yearly $17 Billion remittance will not only cause the people to begin to see red, their eyes bleed blood, but maybe finally force them to rise up and do the needful. undecided

Your lengthy writeup now is to leave the business and children in remote areas should not have access to qualitative education
Access to education in remote areas is no reason why another man's child -- an employee-- should be condemned to slave wages. Simple! undecided

abibun:
They should borrow to pay their workers, cause I still don't get your point or you mean children in remote areas should not have access to qualitative education ?
There are some schools with less than 100 children and school fees isn't up to 10k. In such scenario, how much do you expect teachers to be paid?
∆ Not forgetting that teachers receive 3 months salary in a term and you should also remember not all the kids will pay
1. If you have to borrow in order to pay your workers a living wage then you should strongly consider the business of no real worth to you or anyone. undecided

2. Again,it should not matter what the parents are able to pay or not able to pay. If you have to have employees, you should be able to pay them a living wage above slave wages otherwise you should shut the business down. Simple! undecided

3. Again, it does not matter whether parents can pay or not. All businesses unable to pay a decent wage to their employees should be denied their business licenses. Simple! undecided

abibun:
How many parents in rural area can pay above 5k per term for their child
That has nothing to do with this at all. The amount workers ought to be paid for their services should not depend on how much poor people living large in poverty --- having children beyond their means-- can afford to pay for the education of same kids. Anyone wanting to go into business and have employees should be able to guarantee them non-slave wages. undecided

You may not need it but over 100 million Nigerians working for slave wages in Nigeria need it. $130 a month injected into the Nigerian economy by those millions of people will go a long way in rebuilding the economy than the many billions your thieving politicians loot only to then store outside of Nigeria and its economy each year. ■ The genesis of this mess is the creation of LCDAs from the LGAs, as there were no allocation for the newly created LCDAs and the government want to meet their needs, hence, seized their allocation and share among the LGAs and LCDAs. That is just the genesis and it started in 2004. Let us call a space a space and not a spoon. The fragmentation of LGAs without allocation to the fragmented ones caused all this and it began from Lagos and Enugu and I think another state in the north. I can't just recall now. As laudable as that gesture was, it really paralyzed the third tier of government. Lagos was able to survive because they are making a lot of money from tax because of many effects in Lagos.
But all of this is illegal though when you consider what is stated in Sections 7 and 8 of the Constitution. Why then were there no objections from the beginning against these acts? undecided

Those you claimed that left are being substituted by the Indians and Asian -Business People.
Besides, how has the so called Western Countries helped Nigeria, when they were just after the FOREX( Foreign Exchange Currencies-) and those of their Representatives in Nigeria, have Sold Big Lies on their Companies - to their Foreign Headquarters abroad and that is why they are leaving or threatening to leave!

•These Multinationals and their Local Representatives are part of Corruption in Nigeria,as they are Not Truthful to former Govts.
•Let Nigerian Federal Govt-called for Face To Face Meetings -e.g with Headquarters of Lever brothers,PZ,etc
and explain what their Representatives were doing - how they have formed Clique with Local Corruption People, but we are trying to iron out on how things should be.
•The Whites will understand that Nigeria , will with Over 200 Millions- Population Is In business,Not as their Representatives would make their Headquarters Falsely believed because of their exposure to Corruption, here .
In fact, the Indians,Coming to Nigeria in the Area of Pharmacy and Medicine is a Welcome Development,as they are doing fantastically well in Science and Technology.
Please stop telling yourselves these lies for Pete's sake! The companies that packed up and left were not just Western companies. That you would paint them as such reveals the level of disconnect baked deep into your ability to reason things. undecided
PoliticsRe: Tinubu Signs Executive Order Introducing Zero Tax On Imported Pharmaceutical Inp by Kobojunkie: 6:05pm On Jun 29, 2024
Meti99:
Now that the import tax is high, how has the local products benefitted Nigerians.. What impacts have they made that would have pushed the foreign products out finally, none. They are all after their profits and not
Do a google search of companies that left Nigeria in 2023 and in 2024. On that list you will find many of the very same manufacturing companies who will now be able to produce their same goods outside of Nigeria and flood Nigerian markets with pharmaceutical products at zero tax
More than 10 major companies left in 2023, notably
▶ Unilever Nigeria PLC, Procter & Gamble Nigeria,
▶ GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Nigeria Ltd,
▶ ShopRite Nigeria,
▶ Sanofi-Aventis Nigeria Ltd,
▶ Equinox Nigeria
▶ Bolt Food & Jumia Food Nigeria.
These companies fired their Nigerian workers, so Nigerian workers lost out here. The same companies now produce the very same products outside of Nigeria's borders and are to pay zero Vat when they import them into Nigeria. Are you certain the Nigerian people and economy gain anything from all of this? undecided
