A Nigerian man named Yomi Olayeye has been arrested and charged with conspiracy, wire fraud, and identity theft in connection with a $10 million unemployment fraud scheme in the United States.
...These benefits were acquired through applications submitted to unemployment insurance agencies in multiple states, including Massachusetts, Hawaii, and Indiana.
The indictment reveals that between March and July 2020, Olayeye and his co-conspirators exploited three pandemic assistance programs: traditional unemployment insurance (UI), Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA), and Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC).
The group allegedly applied for at least $10 million in fraudulent benefits across several states, receiving over $1.5 million in funds to which they were not entitled.
The suspects reportedly purchased personal information through criminal online forums, which they then used to falsely represent themselves as eligible residents affected by the pandemic.
They also opened U.S. bank accounts and prepaid debit card accounts using the stolen identities to receive fraudulent benefits. Some of the ill-gotten gains were converted into Bitcoin, and the group attempted to mask their connection to Nigeria by using U.S.-based IP addresses.

That is a whole lot of unemployment benefit stealing right there. Imagine the waste as this is obviously a talented mind that could have better employed his skills elsewhere.

What I saw during the November-2023 elections made me loose all the little REMAINING trust I had left for INEC..
Before November-2023, I forced myself to actually believe that INEC made some innocent Mistakes or errors in the Elections of February/March of 2023 (although I knew they were not mistakes).
But the November-2023 sham-election was clearly a deliberate Fraud -- and that scattered the whole trust for me..

But the fraud is traceable and equally avoidable to a great extent as the man revealed. It starts at the polling units with polling officers. I am particularly glad that there are names of those involved revealed as well. The people at the local merely need to ensure all those indicated are investigated and prosecuted for crimes committed so next set of people would be less willing to engage in such malpractices. 🤔
