Did South East tell Orji kalu they want senate president or a better Nigeria that works for all? Men like him are the evil structures Peter Obi is seeking to uproot because with career politicians like him seeking their pockets, Nigeria cannot dream of having a steady electricity or completed refineries even in the next 50 years. Peter Obi remains my president elect

Keep brainwashing yourself. Like Obi is not a career politician. What is the difference between Obi and Orji Kalu? Which party was Obi a mamber of just less than a year ago. This una emergency saint can only deceive gullible people like you

If FCT is treated as a state during elections then Nigeria has short changed the people of FCT, I have explained this already on a thread I created, Abuja does not have the structure of other states politically, remove special privilege and it will hurt them, that was the same thing that made them suffer for ministerial appointments till they fought it to supreme court, remember they don't have governorship election, so the presidential election doubles as their governorship election, you see why it has to be mandatory you get t least 25% there, they also don't have house of assembly election, so you can't treat them as other states.

They need that special privilege if you do not want to short change them, I will be posting a new topic on this issue hopefully this night..

Your feelings is not the constitution buddy. No where in the the constitution does it state that the president doubles as the governor.
Abuja does not have a governor because u cant have 2 sit of power in one state. Go read how the FCT is governed. There are similarities between how FCT and Washington DC in the USA are governed.
You guys are trying to make Abuja residents superior to other Nigerians. How does not having 25% in Abuja silence the majority and 25% in 30 states sound democratic to you? Are you saying of you live in Abuja your vote should be more superior to others because the sit of power is in Abuja? Not olin our constitution. Makes zero sense! No body is more Nigerian than the other to make their votes so powerful to silence majority votes and 25% in 30 states.
This is just like saying you must get 25% in DC to become the president of the United States cos DC is the sit of power. There are 76% registered democrats in DC and just 6% Registered Republicans. DC as always voted overwhelmingly for democrats. Going by what you guys want, Republicans will never be the president in the United states cos they have never even gotten 25% votes in the DC.

Politics / Obidients; The Online MC Oluomo! by koboko69: 1:12pm On Mar 21, 2023
It is no news that supporters of a particular party attack, bully and lay curses on any Nigerian regardless of their status if they dare have a contrary opinion about their preffered candidate or dare to oppose their preffered candidate in the run up of the 2023 presidential elections.

It amazes me that this group of people complain about Thurgugery and Bullying offline when that was exactly what they did online before the elections.

Is there really a difference being an online thug or an offline thug.

There seems to be a growing victim mentality for a very hostile and toxic situation they created online which spilled out offline.

If you bullied and laid curses on any Nigerian, threaten their source of living, because of their political choice, you are no difference from MC OLUOMO and his Thugs.

Thank You!

It is the worst by far!

The unjust courts and dishonest judges have just granted the INEC permission to reconfigure BVAS and the server thereby destroying every shred of evidence.

Mr man go and sit down. INEC have said your poling agents have all the results, you had your situation rooms monitoring elections, the data on BVAS has been backed up and INEC have said you are free to compare what you have with what was backed up. Should the gubernatorial elections not hold because of obidients feelings? BVAS is the only thing recognized by law. IREV is just a viewing portal for the public initiated by INEC and was never law. So all this noise about IRev is snow flakes

Politics / 5 Fun Facts about the 2023 presidential elections. Was It The Worst? by koboko69: 5:35pm On Mar 08, 2023
There have been arguments online and offline about the just concluded presidential elections being the worst in Nigeria's history but this same election;

1. 20 sitting governors lost their states.
2. The sitting president lost his state
3. 7 sitting governors lost their senatorial election.
4. Bola Hamed Tinubu lost Lagos State.
5. The Chairman of the ruling party lost his state.

Feel free to add yours.

President Buhari contested several times and got 12million votes but never had the 25% spread so he could not have been a winner until he worked with the south which brought about the APC.

How can a presidential condidate who came 3rd now claim the election was rigged and his followers calls it the worst election in history.

Tinubu will not be President.
Tinubu did not win the election. Osinbanjo stands a better chance of being president than tinubu.

A new Nigeria is coming this year 2023.

Lol. This will change to Tinubu will not complete in 4 years, then it will change again to he can not win re-election. Dey play!

Don't speak for Supreme Court, let them Interpret it but something tells me that those who wrote it saw today and they wanted a balance system most especially as the military never wanted full democracy, they calved a sentence that will give the sitting president some powers over it political oppositions. Abuja to me looks like a compulsory thing to get if you fail to get highest votes.
As I said thats my own understanding

Mycheeeew. Oga so siddon jor.
Where in the constitution recognises Nigerians living in Abuja as some super Nigerians or superior Nigerians that their votes is that powerful? Does the electoral act supersede the constitution?

We now see exactly where the problem is in Nigeria
North is really not the problem of Nigeria

But the South west

They are taking advantage of the fact that north and south east are not in good terms due to the war fought in the past to continue romancing the north

That devilish mentality and snake like nature will stop one day
Look at adeboye that led a protest during Jonathan era kept mute
South west got no reason to claim anymore that they are the most educated...this election open their yansh well.

The four major contestants were from the three major tribe
So it means we the South South are the one to choose the most suitable for Nigeria without biased because they are not our brothers
And we chose choose obi but due to tribalism the South west refused and supported a man who is sick mentally and physically...national anthem was going on he wasn't Aware

If you can't handover your daughter or sister for Marriage to a sick old man with dementia not physically and mentally fit. Some one not aware of his environment but still you want to support same man to head 220 million Nigeria at this point of our critical situation then may you and your family know no peace

If you are emotionally attached to your tribe, religion and political leaning to the point that the truth and justice becomes secondary consideration then your education is useless, your exposure is useless. If you cannot reason beyond petty sentiments. You are liability to man kind

Everyone should retweet and save this so that our future kids will know that at some point in the history of Nigeria we were caught in between the Devil( tinubu, atiku) and redemption( obi)
But the South west spoilt dragged us back because of tribalism

Every sane Nigeria should look at this and read a meaning to it
1) Tinubu political party and administration is ruling but he was unable to win Abuja where them sit down put
2) his own state of origin osun. Even a twelve year old will win thier own state yet he was unable to win

3) all development in lagos is attributed to Tinubu and he is regarded as the father of lagos yet he was unable to win

Nigerians should put on thier conscience and see that tinubu was rejected completely by Nigerians

I'm from the South South( Edo to be precise)

Una wey just start to follow politics because of Obi.
Una funny die.
Oya show me one incumbent that won Abuja. Abuja has always voted for the opposition party. Aso Rock is always won by the opposition party. Go and verify.
Yoruba spread their votes across all political parties, but you are here crying. If Yoruba only voted Tinubu, where will PDP and LP have gotten all those votes from. What you are complaining of, na SS and SE do am pass. Did you not see the results from the SE?
You are sounding like Obi was not part of PDP until just a few months ago. cheesy
On what grounds are u claiming Obi is some imaginary redeemer cheesy.
What makes u feel your opinion should be inposed on every Nigerian?
What part of the constitution says he must win his home state or Abuja to be declared winner.
I am from the same Edo State.

God knows why obi did not try and make a deal with atiku

I know this might defeat the purpose of him being a honest man not cutting deals like most politicians do but at least you get there first and fix this country

This country is a big mess

Nigeria politics is simply Party politics

Even though I wanted obi to win so badly please God give Tinubu the spirit to fix this country

I wonder why someone who saw shege between 2015-2023 under an APC GOVT still went to the ballpt box and still thumbprinted and voted the same APC again

The level of illiteracy in Nigeria doesn't help either

We are in the 21st century and still no 24/7 electricity

Anyway election has finished time to continue to build what's left of the country

God help tinubu cos if this man makes Nigeria worse than it is right now then its extremely sad cos it was totally unavoidable

He was dishonest when he was Atiku's running mate last election abi? But he became honest when he moved to LP cos he knew he will not win the presidential ticket in PDP and may not even be the VP. Una funny die!

The electoral specifically mentioned FCT in order to protect the president and give a semblance of safety in this abode of residence in Abuja.

How can you feel secured as a president in an FCT where you are not welcome? Can Peter Obi feel safe in Islamic states of Zamfara or Sokoto where he lost by almost 80%?
Did the Americans feel safe in Afghanistan?

The people who drafted that constitution are not fools, where the president resides, he must some semblance of local support. There is a reason why protests have erupted in the FCT as we speak now.

25% of FCT is mandatory by law.

This is the most ridiculous thing i have ever read in a long time. cheesy.
But if you have 25% of votes, you are safe and welcomed? Even though 2/3 of the population in that FCT did not vote? Or even though less than half of the registered voters actually came out to vote. Una dull sha! Which kian analysis be this cheesy

What part of the constitution makes the citizens of FCT above citizens in other states? That their 25% of their votes must be won to decide the choice of 24 other states.

Creeper:
I think the reason why people are complicating things is due to their limited understanding of the use of English language and maths.

Based on interpretation, in this context (context of how it was written), ‘and’ is basically an addition - since both ‘36 states’ and ‘FCT’ are independent. If ‘FCT’ had a separate requirement - they wouldn’t have used ‘and’ - they would’ve stated the requirement in a separate sentence.

So, it basically means, 25% of 24 states in 36 states + FCT.

I hope this helps.

100%

Same way you have to include and District of Columbia when asked how many states in the united states.
The electoral college awards 3 electoral college votes to the district of Columbia now known as Washington DC, but does not mean you have to win those 3 electoral votes because its the capital.
