Peter Rufai with his wealth of experience screwed us in France '98.
pls we are going too far on this issue, whether Akpeyi,Ezenwa or Alampasu, one thing is glaring Algeria must go down.

Apart from Enyeama and Ikeme,do we have any better keeper to call apart from this trio

Enyeama's case was far different from Mikel. He buried his mum, flew out of Nigeria to camp the next day and arrived on a Monday.

This was not a case of stripping off Enyeama's captain band but during his time of pain.

The pain, stress and hatred got to his head.
Yea i understand d humiliation was too much

Certitude:
why would anyone want to call aiyenugba. That guy wasn't spectacular. I wondered what siasia was thinking when he placed him ahead of Ejide if he felt enyeama was indisciplined.
Do we have any spectacular goalkeepers except Enyeama and of recent Ikeme which i highly rated coz of his technicality, others are bunch of average.

On Ejide, honestly i don't want to say much on him coz he has everything to be a world class keeper but a total flop coz he lack composure which made Onigbinde to rate Enyeama ahead of him, though a first choice in Afcon 2008 ahead of Enyeama but it was apparent that Berti Vogts went for his physic

Also Siasia benched him for Aiyenugba coz he lack d heart of goalkeeper coz with his height and frame I don't even expecting Enyeama to be No 1 choice

Yea national hero but messed Enyeama up but how i wish Enyeama handle it in a very mature way like Mikel did, anyhow Enyeama must come out of retirement coz Eagles belong to Nigeria not Olishe.

Botttomline is, Enyeama is not returning to the team at least not in this 2016....so please, can we move on to talking about making a Carl Ikeme-free team a fortress?

That is the matter at hand, how do we use lemons to make lemonades?

All this talk of Enyeama is unnecessary and unrealistic currently
True talk my sister coz d guy is not ready for recall due to a reason best know to him.He did not step aside but retired,a very tough decision for him and it w be tough for him to come out of retirement.

No option for now than to Psyche d trio(Akpeyi,Ezenwa and Alampasu)up for d crucial match. There is nothing anybody can do about d goalkeeping area for now than to encourage d guys.

It w be better for Enyeama and country if he can come out of retirement, with him and Ikeme in camp then w are secured.

We get many goalkeepers but I don't know why we don't want to invite dem.

Bamidele Aiyenugba has been ignored so too long despite his performance last two seasons ago.

What about Jonathan Ligali of Montpelier?

I prefer Emmanuel Daniel to Ike and Ikpeyi.
yea good talk we have many goalkeepers but do we trust them btw d stick.D issue of Enyeama coming back should not arise now coz he has retired from d team with d reason best know to him, though Mikel suffered d same humiliation from Olishe but did not announced his retirement.

It's left for Enyeama to say am available again for selection,we can't force him though i wish is around in a situation like this and salvage us.We don't have option than to stick to Akpeyi,Ezenwa and Alampasu for this crucial match, with good psychologist there w be no issue.

It's a pity Ikeme w not be available and Enyeama has retired coz d two are class,Ikeme is d most technically sound goalkeeper Nigeria ever had coz he understand d rudiments of goalkeeping,he read d game very well.Enyeama remained d most talented to have come out of Nigeria league and face euro giant England at world cup as a rookie.

As i said we can't force him out of retirement but it w be good to have him and Ikeme vie for No 1 position,d rivalry w be great. It w remind us of old days of Rufai,Agbonavbare and Aloy Agu.

The goalkeeper trainer should just brace up and psyche the trio(Akpeyi,Ezenwa and Alampasu just like how coach Adisa psyche Enyeama up against England and he delivered.

@Kog45, I think you may be misinterpreting Mikael here as his point about the captaincy is a valid one.

Case in point: When Domenech persuaded Zidane to come out of retirement in 2005 to help France revive a fledgling campaign, he was reinstated as captain. I think Luis Figo did the same (though I am not sure)

Adding the complexity of Nigeria, Mikael's question about the captaincy isn't far fetched. During the 2002 WCQ, Sunday Oliseh stayed away from a match in Omdurman. On his return for the last match against Ghana, PH fans were demanding that he should relinquish the captaincy to Finidi even though he only missed one match. Of course, we have had other former captains recalled to the team where there was no issue(Peter Rufai in 1998 comes to mind)

That Mikael may have a reputation for "hatred for Mikel" doesn't mean all his comments should be viewed from that lens when infact he raises an issue that might well arise if Enyeama returns
God bless u my man,it is left for Rohr to decide who to captain Eagles if eventually great Enyeama is given a recall, though seniority always play a major role but sometimes coach don't see it that way

Olishe was part of d golden generation and he doesn't see it as seniority issue and made Musa d captain,i personally frown at it coz Enyeama was still in d camp but he had his way.

Due to this humiliation Enyeama announced his retirement and Musa was made skippo despite Mikel presence and when siasia came in he made Mikel d captain. When Rohr was announced as d coach,he said Mikel is d captain

I remembered during Maroc 88 Afcon qualifier Andrew Use was appointed as d team captain at d expense of Keshi and nothing happened, also 1984 afcon young Stephen Keshi was appointed as d captain at d expense of Muda Lawal. The same scenario played itself at maroc 88 Rufai at d expense of Henry Nwosu.Olishe at d expense of finidi at 2002 Afcon

My point is this a coach decides whether seniority or not,d recall of Enyeama does not give him license to d captain band

It is left for Rohr to decide who to lead eagles,so there is no need for us to assume for him.Honestly i was of d thought that it should be seniority but here in Nairaland a guy told me NO it's d coach that decides

you really need to start reading well before talking, let me no insult you though. did I say he is coming back for his captaincy? I said if he does come back that he will certainly get it back because that's the right thing after all. your love for Mikel is turning you into a ridiculous fanboy, Wetin concern Mikel with Enyeama becoming the captain? if the coach says that he wants Enyeama back, don't you think that he has already discussed the captaincy with him? if the coach wants Enyeama as his captain then that's all, Mikel can go to hell for all I care if he doesn't like it.

so you think Ikeme is better than Enyeama? Nigerians and their short term brains, there is absolutely zero comparison there, Enyeama is the reason why Lille is competitive in France. I can't even believe that somehow will believe that Enyeama can't displace Ikeme
Honestly u are free to insult me is part of it.I still repeat it Enyeama w sweat hard to displace Ikeme and on d captain band, pls read your post again and ask yourself how d issue of captain came into discussion.

Indirectly u said coming back of Enyeama w give him automatic shirt and w collect his captain as if it's birthright, look in this forum we are too intelligents to be taken for a ride by deceptive writers.

If u are bolded enough u should have come out and tell us u don't want Mikel as d captain and give your reasons and not telling us u can rain insults coz is a faceless forum.

if Mikel Obi is good enough, why did Chelsea FC buy Matic then Kante?
Without doubts, his good performance in UCL 2012 final helped Chelsea to win first-ever ucl title, however, Mikel is uni-functional mainly for a bus-parking defensive style. Now that Chelsea FC is no longer parking the bus, his sluggish movement renders him incapable of fitting Conte's 343/352 formation. He should leave if a good club comes calling. His time at cfc is up.
I always respect people who analyse their point without derogatory remarks (sluggish movement and uni functional mainly for bus parking defensive style)childish talk, pls talk like a man that knows football.

Mikel is the slowest midfielder in the chelsea squad right now. If you listen to contes interviews he's all about energy, workrate, pace which mikel quite frankly lacks. All this conte doesn't play Mikel because he represented Nigeria at the olympics is a myth, if you work hard and fit his system of football conte plays you, Moses is an example.
Please forget Mikel is slow. What is so special about this chelsea team that Mikel w not make 18 man squad talk less of playing in ordinary league cup.

Mikel is a thorough professional for keeping it low with conte not like Anelka and Malouda saga where they were banished to train with 2nd team.

Conte made it cleared during pre season that it's great to have Kante,Mikel and Matic in d squad. But turning around to froze him out of d squad shows something is amiss coz i remembered b4 Zambia match conte said Mikel was injured which latter denied, with this conflicting statements, then there are issues.

Car Talk › Re: Educated Or Uneducated Mechanic? Which Is Better? by Kog45(m): 7:44am On Oct 28, 2016
femmykenny:
It does not really matter either your mechanic is educated or not, the most important thing is to get a good mechanic.
Some are educated but have little knowledge while some are not educated with vast knowledge.
The major difference is the ability of educated mechanic to use Car Diagnostics tools and equipment to resolve car problem and to Counter Guess work done by uneducated mechanic.
My mechanic is not educated but very popular in my area, work from mon/sunday and Only those that have patronise a workshop can tell if a mechanic is good or not.
Oga gazzuz and others on nairaland are famous due to the good news shared by those that have patronised them.
Both educated and uneducated have their merits and demerits.
What would have happen to Nairaland car talk section without the educated mechanics ?
For a while I have been looking forward to oga gazzuz free scan that my mechanic cannot do even when I needed it !
And
I can't imagine calling oga gazzuz on sunday morning that my car develop issue and I will want him to come and check but my uneducated mechanic will come around before dropping the call.
I respect educated mechanic and I don't look down on the latter!
Honestly there is no need for comparison btw d educated and uneducated mechanic coz there is a wide gap.

Uneducated mechanic can kill u unknowingly coz he lacks knowledge, forget experience such uneducated might have,it doesn't count.

I took my car to my old mechanic for ordinary servicing, guess what happened after servicing,d car refused to start and d car need to spend 2 days in d workshop, something just tell me to Google and Google told me d oil filter was wrongly fixed.

I went to my mechanic and told him to check d fixing of oil filter, honestly d oil filter was wrongly fixed. It was after refix that d car start.
Car Talk › Re: Educated Or Uneducated Mechanic? Which Is Better? by Kog45(m): 7:12am On Oct 28, 2016
lonelydude:
Each time I want to take my car to the mechanic, I always develop the fear of the guy destroying something else after fixing the reason for the visit. This was the case with the last mechanic I frequently used until I got tired of him after he completely knocked my car engine and destroyed the gearbox. I had to take a driving break for about two months before I purchased another engine and gearbox.

Now, the new mechanic, who was recommended by the engine seller, installed the entire package only for the speedometer not to be working and a delayed/sluggish response transmission whenever I accelerate. I noticed this when I test-drove the car from the mainland to the island. The engine works perfectly fine but for more than 3 weeks now,I am yet to start driving the car just because of the two problems mentioned above.

The car is currently with my auto-electrician (Very educated Auto-electrician) who said something needs to be changed in the gear. He said the speed sensor (which is perfectly ok) is not being turned by the gear and hence speedometer still stagnant at zero reading. When he turned the speed sensor with his fingers, the speedometer responded but when connected to the gear, it remains stagnant.
He has checked everything every other electrical faults/signal/sensor that may be responsible but none of this seem to be the problem.

My questions:

Are educated mechanics really better than uneducated mechanics? They both claim they are specific car brand specialists (e.g. I work on only toyota, i work on only honda, bla...bla..etc). Do you consider their educational level before the patronize them?

How do exactly know a good and experienced mechanic?

Please, advise a brother. BTW, I drive a Toyota RAV4 (2002).

Thanks in advance for your advice.
I got a lovely 2007 e92 BMW car in 2009 but uneducated mechanic nearly kill me to d extent of parking d car for 6 months until I saw a well broaden mechanic who fixed d car for me in less than 10 mins.

Thanks for your brilliant addition. It feels my throat runs dry while I keep typing on this issue. I agree that calling Oshaniwa is risky. That is why I prefer a cautious move. I do not want him as a starter now. We can not tell if he is still as sharp as the guy we saw at the AFCON qualifiers or the World Cup.

The problem here is, dropping a better option. Invite him as an extra player to camp. From the looks of it, Alimi and some other players were players the coach wanted to look at. They were not close to starting for the team.

That is the kind of position I suggest the coach should put Oshaniwa. Invite him and see if he can fight for his place in the team.
Good suggestion if Rohr can reason like u.
