If Yorubas do not want Igbos in their region, declare Odua nation, and call your people heading all the juicy positions in other region back home. You have just Lagos, your other States cannot even compete with Enugu/Imo. Allow us hear word abeg!

If Igbos want Biafra, pack your bags move to your region too, and bomb the Niger Bridge, no one will disturb you! You people self too like wahala!

If you all want regional government, go Abuja! Abeg o no disturb us here! Ese pupo!
It seems low self esteem personalities are championing of tribalism……I was happy seeing Hausa,Yoruba and other tribes enjoying gwon gwon dance with many doing skits with the song…..our politicians used religion, tribal and corruption to influence Nigerians….during elections you see them running to Churches,Mosques, visiting villages promising us what they failed to do when they are in power but funny people keep on voting them, citing na my brother

The only reform we need is government diversity from sports. I can't think of any government agency managed by civil servants in the country that is working effectively, sports won't be any different.

The only chance we have at success is for government to get out of the way and allow private money into sports. The EPL is privately run, the NBA is privately run, the NCAA which is schools sports in America is privately run. That's the way forward for sports in Nigeria.

No private individual will invest 12 Billion naira in a venture without an plans and expectations for returns. Methinks government monies are better invested in more important concerns to the Nigerian populace like health and education and if sports to infrastructural developments. Private money in football are moving into football academies and not the NPFL because many are discovering the academy to Europe pipeline and taking advantage of it.
Oga pls don’t say am sounding stupid but do you want to hear fact….parents are failing the nation, imagine sending your children to schools with no sport facilities, funny no football field to play popular sport.I have a friend who withdrew his talented son from private school to public school just cus of football field and this caused rift between him and his wife but good the boy was part of Beyond Limit boys that participated in Gothia cup.

Most kids now want to make money quickly and our entertainment industry is killing a lot of talents, trying to emulate fake life of our celebrities ….na yahoo yahoo dem dey pursue, wants to spend money like Obi Cubanas…..go to universities,NUGA game is gone cuz you see 14 and 15 years old in the universities and funny they added to their ages to meet universities age requirements.

Yes we blame government for many things but as individuals are we doing the needful

Emma Olisadebe,Seyi Olofinjana and former Nigeria Olympic Silver Medalist Bisi Afolabi are my paddies and I can testify that they made it cuz they are mature enough when they are in the university.

Yes I am paying attention. Line I said, it's not like he's doing anything extra ordinary, but compared to those who have come before him he's been good for sports.

He recently met with Elumelu too and trying to get billionaires in Nigeria to buy NPFL teams so the league goes totally private.
The Elumelus,Otedolas and Dangotes will never invest in NPFL cuz they are always after quick and big profits…..we just need more of Kunle Soname who understands the game very well cuz football business is not about winning alone.Just check out how Beyond Limits is cashing out

There's been no chaos. Almost every sporting federation was fighting during Dalong and Sunday dares tenure.

He's been the most responsive minister and this didn't start with the Olympics.

He priorities athletes welfare. He engages them in a one to one basis.

Not sure if he will succeed, but he's pushing for reforms in the NFF particularly to expand Congress so voting for the NFF chairman isn't left to the politicians at the state FA.

He's also not limited himself to football like almost every other minister does.

Again, not saying he's the best since sliced bread, but a total departure from what we used to have.
It seems you are following the present minister bumper to bumper than many of us….good to hear he is trying to expand NFF congress to pave for credible candidates.

An advice,he need more publicity on his activities

Politics › Re: FG Never Gave N570 Billion To 36 States — Seyi Makinde Counters President Tinubu by Kog45(m): 11:41am On Aug 09, 2024
Covid 19 funds and world bank loan but FG acted as intermediary for the loan to be disbursed but Seyi Makinde is telling us FG is lying since it
is not directly from FG,now citizens should keep quiet or should not ask questions regarding how the monies were spent

Despite the hard time some APC state governors made sure no protest in their states and Seyi Makinde made sure no protest against FG in Oyo State but here talking nonsense.

The state governors are so comfortable with people’s rights and wealth.Imagine “end to bad governance” was targeting only FG just like we did against GEJ to the extent people forget that the state governors are receiving billions every months with no tangible development,no wonder Yahaya Bello is so comfortable residing in government house and supported by his people who are suffering to the marrow but playing ethnic politics.

Nigerians are hypocrites and always playing ethnic cards, and tribalism to justify corrupt politicians and the same thing is happening here on nairaland with people opening different accounts just to throw shade at one another forgetting the real issues…….if una like protest or not we are in it together

Ruth Ogbeifo should have won gold. But body weight rule went against her, after lifting the same weight with her opponent. Winner was settled using bodyweight rule which went against her
Ruth Ogbeifo Balofin was trained in Ilorin Stadium by her husband Coach Balofin and do watch her training with other weightlifters inside Ilorin indoor sports hall. She was strictly trained by her husband without support from sports ministry and went ahead to win Olympic silver medal.

Chioma Ajunwa and Ruth Ogbeifo Balofin had most of their trainings in Nigeria but well supervised by good managements led Segun Odegbami and Coach Balofin respectively, now the question why can’t our sports ministry provide real basic amenities for our athletes.

Not the same.
The Jap guy has a Nigerian father and a Jap mother.

I think there's a border in Osun state that people have talked about in the past, where one can travel to Togo from or something.
Nothing different if Adekami has Ivorian mother but Nigerian parents will make it different from Chima Fujita.

Osun state did not shared border with any country.Ejigbo peoples were traders that traveled to Togo,Ghana and Ivory Coast for business from time immemorial and have established communities in these countries.

Royal Antwerp will soon announce the signing of the young Ivorian player joining from the Right to Dream Academy in Ghana.

How is Adekami an ivorian abi the name different from Adekanmi?
Possibly from Ejigbo in Osun State cuz we have large numbers of Ejigbo in Togo,Ghana and Ivory Coast,Emma Adebayour families are from Ejigbo but this should not be news cuz seeing Chima Fujita a Igbo boy captain Japanese Olympic football team says it all….Nigeria men dey try o Oga Chriskel.

Very funny clip. Watch it again, and see the gaps between the scorers of the first two goals and the defenders. It is nothing short of comical.

That is why we don't have the flair we used to see. Players defend better. Guardiola made teams defend better and taught systematic play to deal with the modern defensive structures.

Young kids are now coached on how to play against complicated defenses.

Finito.
Are there no coaches to talk about on new modern football apart from Guardiola, everything is centering on him when you in particular is talking about football of today.

This is exactly the trigger I'm talking about. You guys are so blinded and low brained. You have no difference with xenophobic south Africans. Anytime we speak up, your first trigger is that anyone speaking against the nonsense The yourba people protray is an Igbo person.

The hausas and Fulanis are even better. At least they don't hate on any one. I'm glad the last election made me cut off of a lot of things. Yourba's are one of the major problems of this country. I'm ashamed to be a south westerner. Very useless bigoted people
