I would say Inverted CB is a manifestation firstly of the football of the past but only more refined and more in use today than before.

Franz Beckenbauer was the first truly recognised Inverted CB/Libero. There may have been others before him but he was the most recognised in the 60s and 70s. He was a defender like no other and till today remains one of the greatest CBs of all time.
Thank you, then present Super eagles CBs should go and watch Stephen Keshi old clips and learn from it.

Could it also be because we are older than most of the players now? Growing up as a passionate fan, I used to look up to their Zidane, Amokachi, Okocha, Bergkamp, Henry, Figo etc. But now that eye with which one looks at older people doing magic is gone!
It is not cuz we are older but football has gone theoretically to the extent that a talented player with great skill will be changed to a very static player.

Asiwaju quietly burning down Kano and Rivers State because of 2027....

I trust the North and Ijaws to deal with him at the right time!
Do not worry Kigali man,Atiku/Obi can do it but Atiku and Obi on different ballot paper then Tinubu is winning again come 2027.

Hmmm you now need North and Ijaw to do it….see presidential election is not won based on emotional blackmailing but serious underground work which I think Obi is doing right now but do you want to hear fact, northerners will rather vote for Atiku or allow Tinubu to continue based on pure religion sentiments.

The only time the northerners voted for Christian was when we have Obasanjo and Falae contesting.

The major stumbling block for credible presidential candidate are sentimental reasons such as religion and tribalism, just check out Osun and Lagos presidential elections which showed real democracy, other results across other states were based on religion, ethnicity or tribalism and forcing people to vote against their wishes rather than real elections.

The erring pastor should be jailed, and his son dismissed from the army.

How can someone attack a man and beat his wives, including a pregnant one, for slaughtering a ram in his own compound?

See how all Yorubas come together to discipline the pastor. This is how society should be run—with justice and fairness.

I hope the Igbos can learn something from the sophisticated ways of the Yorubas
Haha you still bring tribalism into religion issues. Why bringing Igbo into this for God sake.

This is pure madness from Yoruba pastor and Muslim family but to you Igbo should learn from the people that lack religion tolerant.A very condemnable act is now a thing of joy cuz religious bodies came in to settle it.

If a life is lost would you have put this out

Mind you am am a Christian and Yoruba man.

And people geh mind dey talk nonsense on Osimhen during AFCON. Ronaldo missed one 1-v-1 chance 🆚 Czech Republic the other day and has not scored in two games now. Even the entire France never score one goal for this tournament.

We too like play for this country 😂
The issue is not about Osimhen alone but other strikers too like Sadiq,Onuachu,Moffi and Awoniyi….do we give them the chance to succeeds

Ighalo was nailed cuz of Argentina missed,so not only Osimhen.

We criticize our players anyhow and this always bringing confidence issues.

Sir, these is the most likely possibly, cos if it's rumors, then FG would had come out since to clarify,

And If Colin had not come out with that damage control, we would not had been here

pls Sir let it end here
Do yo know how old is Finidi, coming out to say what?see I hate it when one is trying to support nonsense just cus one is a fan.

I respect and rate Osimhen highly but some attitude is no no for me,talking and disrespecting people anyhow,on top wetin….Stephen Keshi was banned from Nigeria football and left the country as a sad young boy but never disrespected Nigeria. The same Keshi was maligned by Alex Akinyemi on live television watched by millions of Nigerians but Keshi did not respond.

Recently Sadiq had issues with eagles, dropped from Afcon team but never go online ranting. He had issue with Finidi too but never go on IG ranting but for some to condemn the act they are bringing in contexture respect of white men.

Sincerely the issue is not about Finidi but our APOTY winner on IG talking like Portable, disrespecting Nigerians, reacted to unsubstantiated rumors that till date no one can come out to substantiate.

Next thing was another angle to the baseless story that Finidi said this to few friends and one of them went ahead to tell Osimhen and next,VO to went on IG,cursing people,if it is true is that not stupidly for VO to react in that manner.

Just check thegoodjoe and TheSuperNerd responses on the issue and you see perfectly comments, they condemned VO but to some VO can’t do wrong.

As you said we should let it slide, nothing we say here had any real impact whatsoever on what is going on out there but good that we are rubbing minds as football fans.

I will not say anything on this again.I wish Osimhen well.

Respect Do4luv and Happy Sunday

I suppose we could say that's unique to African elders. No problem with being unique.

And you need to stop this nonsense of condescending to others with the 'y’all haven’t lived outside the shores of Nigeria'. No be you go first go abroad. people don dey go abroad since 18 kokoro. Nigerians/Africans have communities that manifest in churches e.t.c. In these communities, these cultural values are in place, perhaps to a lesser degree.

Asians:Japanese, Chinese, Indians, e,t,c- have their cultural quirks too, sometimes similar in purpose to ours.

If you are frustrated that we are low on initiativeness as far infrastructural development e.t.c, fine. You are not alone in that feeling. However we need not pull down our structure of values for it. Others have prospered flourished economically and still hold those values dearly.
Thank you my brother,I remembered entering metro train and saw white guys standing up for their elders to sit down but here some go dey tell us Oyinbo no get respect.

It’s outdated very very outdated

I’m not saying we should take the white mans religion of how they view respect

But common sense would make one not to get infuriated if a younger person did not address how you’re supposed to be addressed

When that said younger person has a lot of people speaking in his ear of how he’s the next best thing after the moon landing

We take such trivial stuff like how we’re addressed by the younger generation so seriously when most of us don’t have the titles that suit how we want to be addressed

Only basis is that we’re older than them

Some people expect Victor to say sir, baba my lord, his royal majesty then coach finidi.

You can clearly see the man is agitated just finidi is enough but we want to enforce our morals on everyone

Like I said before most of us haven’t lived abroad

Be a janitor in the uk in a school and how a student address you ( an example )
Oyino dey respect their elders….Osimhen expression of words is the issue. He was damn too arrogant on his choice of words in that IG rants.

A ban is ridiculous. We're already in murky waters we shouldn't make a bad situation worse. A public apology should be demanded (and he should be suspended from the team till the apology is made) and maybe he's denied match bonuses for a few games. Point is everyone should learn from this.
All Osimhen need is apology to Finidi and everything rest even disciplinary action will not be necessary if this is done.
