skeletine: It is a lie that OBJ and UMYA were not criticised by their ethnic governors. Please stop spreading falsehood. I wouldn't know if you were old enough and well aware when they ruled but they were variously and VERY well criticised, especially OBJ in the south-west.

Please for the sake of prosperity, stop spreding falsehood.

Thanks.
Thanks for the correction. I was busy trying to get a degree then, never paid much attention to politics.

Nationality over ethnicity! I stand by this.. Amaechi, I admire your courage to stand out and defend what you believe in. It would have been easier for you to follow the crowd like your other south-south PDP governors, but you chose to call a 'spade' a 'spade'.

theshadyexpress: which president in the world(present or past)has been able to fix all the problems in all sectors of his/her countries economy within 3yrs of Ascension to power,if u can't provide just one president that has done that then be smart enough to admit that you are just plain stupid, brainless and a partisan social commentator.
and who says GEJ should fix all the problems in Nigeria? Anyway, you have resorted to name calling. Sorry bro, I don't do that.
Politics › Re: 2015: Why I’m Not Supporting Jonathan- Amaechi…Blasts Uduaghan, Okonjo-iweala by kokoA(m): 7:16am On Sep 20, 2013
akpomeme: Jonathan did not create the problems in Nigeria, as a matter of fact, Jonathan is trying to fix things. People like Amaechi and his aboki brothers are creating problems. Don't be suprised that Amaechi may be one of the sponsors of Boko Haram.
Why is it that when Boko Haram has been reduced to almost nothing did Amaech and his aboki gang members begin to create other distrsctions in the polity.
we are tired of this excuse of jonathan not the creator of Nigeria's problems. He has been incharge for six years now, show me the steps he has taken so far to correct what he met on ground. A president who wines and dines with the likes of obj, babangida, alamaighseia, bode george, anenih, etc, people who you can put in the caterogy of "creators of nigeria's problems". Is he any different from these characters? You said Amaechi and his gang are creating problems for GEJ? Can you tell us how please? What has Amaechi got to do with Federal government's inability to reconstruct the east-west road, bring development to the nigerdelta, make life comfortable for the masses, etc? And did I hear you say bokoharam has been reduced to almost nothing?.. Lol.. You really are funny, I guess you have not been reading the dailies lately. Lastly, can you guys just stop this nonsense of labelling any northern politician who doesn't support GEJ "bokoharam sponsor". This is really becoming stale. Nigeria has issues, Mr. President should fix them and stop lamenting like a bad workman who always blame his working tools and not his competence. Ameachi may not be the right person to say what he said, but the fact remains that what he said is the truth in black and white!

ogb5: Uduaghan is very correct, the south south people are not in a position to be oposing the president publicly, moreso south south people in the ruling party. How many yoruba pdp governors opposed obasanjo when he was president, how many northern pdp governors opposed Yar ardua?

The south south pdp governors have unlimited access to Jonathan, if they have any idea that can move the country forward, they should meet GEJ and discuss their ideas and try to sell their ideas to him. Castigating GEJ publicly will not bring Amaechi any good.

Amaechi claim that the poverty level has increased from 30% in the 70s to 70% today, what he failed to realize is that the northerners he is presently romancing are largely responsible to the increased poverty in the land
you have made a very sensible comment devoid of the usual "gutter criticism" of nairalanders. I respect you for that. But you must understand that the fact that the yoruba and hausa governors never criticised their OBJ and UMY doesn't make Uduaghan right. Change must start from somewhere. Amaechi may not be the needed face of change but the fact remains that what he said up there is 100 percent true. We must learn to tell our politicians the truth irrespective of where they come from or what language they speak.
Politics › Re: Oritsejafor Worst CAN President In Years, Says El-rufai by kokoA(m): 10:32pm On Sep 19, 2013
chima12: What is el rufais business with christian association of nigeria CAN?
If he knows he cannot criticise the sultan and northern emirs, then he should be honourable enough not to criticise christian leaders.
A lot of people especially southwest christians who are been subjected to political domination by yoruba moslems fail to realise that orisejafor presidency of CAN is a blessing to christians in nigeria. Oritsejafor belongs to the fire brand pentecostal group of christiandom which encourages christians to play active roles in politics.as an adage goes, when good men stay away from politics, bad men take over the political space and rule over everyone.
The moslems have always been encouraged to partake seriously in politics and in fact never allow christians to rule over them.the reason these moslems criticise Oritsejafor is that he encourages active participation of christians in politics unlike previous CAN leaders.the fact that they criticise Oritsejafor shows that Oritsejafor is doing something right.
If you see your enemies and those who hate you but pretend to love you ever clapping for you, then you need to check yourself, either you are doing something wrong or something must be wrong with you.
A look at the yorubas can be used to illustrate the impact of different religious ideologies on political life of a people.the yoruba moslems encourage their faithfuls to partake in politics and occupy leadership positions, while the yoruba christians have lackasaidal attitude to politics, some viewing politics as a dirty game meant for dirty people.the result is domination of politics in southwest by the moslems while at thesame time the moslems in the southwest use ethnic affinity to close the eyes of the yoruba christians in order to maintain islamic domination of southwest politics and way of life. There are many appointments and positions in the southwest even among the yorubas which they cannot get unless they are moslems. This is the type of islamic domination which people like el rufai want over all christians in nigeria which is why they are very confortable with the likes of amenable onayekan while they are unconfortable with the likes of Oritsejafor who are into radical pentacostalism. But their plans will never work on the rest of us christians in other regions even if it continues to work in the southwest. With or without Oritsejafor, nigerian christians must play active roles in politics and never see politics as been meant for dirty people but they must see politics as an avenue to impact positive change on the society.
I didn't bother to read this lengthy reply because the poster already started on a biased note.. What has ethnicity got to do with what the mallam said? I am not yoruba but I don't support Oritsejaifor. Do I need to remind catholic church pulled out of CAN under this man? I guess all catholics are yoruba to.
He is equally part of the rot..the PDP rot of the past 14 yrs circa
He never exonerated himself from being part of the rot. @topic.. I think Uduaghan was totally wrong. As a political leader, he shouldn't be making statements capable of polarizing the already polarized country further. What's the meaning of " opposition to the president should not come from his south-south zone". So, the south-south people should keep pretending all is well since "their son" is president. Smh.

If this is true... Hmmmmm.. Smh! Nigeria is one of the few countries in the world where the lives of people who dedicate their lives to fighting for their fellow country men is treated with great levity.. The other time, we lost almost 100 mobile police men and state security service men in one day. What was done by the government?! Nothing! That matter has been swept under the carpet! When did we descend so lowhuh? This people swore to defend whatever dignity is left of our country, leaving their families and loved ones behind, withstanding the worst of living conditions just so you and I can sleep with an eye closed, yet an "oga at the top" will sit in the comfort of his office to abort an operation without proper communication to his "boys" on the field.. And if this is true, ask me what will hapen to that "oga".... Yea, your guess is as good as mine.. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! Smh.

If rehabilitating a stadium is a great achievement worth listing as "gains of GEJ administration" then OBJ deserves to be life president for building such a magnificent edifice in the first place.. Smh.. BTW, isn't it the duty of the sports ministry to ensure that all our sports facilities across the country are properly maintained? We should be asking "where dem been put eye to allow dey stadium scata reach like that before?"..
