One of the highlights of the show and one that people have not stopped talking about was the moment music legend, 2Baba invited fast-rising act Demmie Vee to the stage to perform the smash hit collaboration, “Awesome God”. Another ‘aww’ moment of the incident was how the young chap went flat on the floor to prostrate for 2baba when he wanted to greet the music legend on stage in front of thousands of music fans. For a while now, the jury has been out on Demmie Vee who music observers described as possessing combinations of 2baba ,9ice and Kiss Daniel. And the gossips for once seems to be right on the young star who like a true protégé, continues to enjoy a generous share of the music glory with his mentors. This includes his biggest supporter 2baba; a musician he apparently took after with striking qualities ranging from humility to delivery and message. Demmie Vee's newly released love me tender remix also feature the one and only music ancestor 9ice, which got all fans surprised with his delivery on the remix. I think we should all fold our arms and watch out for this young humble guy. He appears to have something to offer the music industry which we shouldn't miss. Speaking during an interview, the prolific actor stated that many Nigerians use the word “local” to depict something inferior meanwhile, something being produced locally only means that it is being produced internally and not low quality. Speaking further,Bakare said that many local movies and other products are far better than some of their foreign counterparts but we usually don't see the good things about the local ones because we have our mindsets fixed on foreign goods only. “Without meaning to discredit our foreign colleagues and i must admit they are far ahead for obvious reasons, but I personally have seen some really poor quality Hollywood movies on M-Net Zone. These movies have terrible mistakes which even some of the low budget films in Nollywood can never make. You, see not everything that is foreign that is faultless. There are many items imported from abroad that are really nothing to write home about when placed side by side with homemade products. Nobody is perfect. We are all humans and constantly striving towards improving,” Olayemi Bakare says. The actor harped it that the government has been trying its best to develop the local industry while they have never ceased to encourage Nigerians to buy Nigeria to grow Nigeria, according to him, all hands must however be on deck to ensure this vision becomes a reality. "Nigerians are are the backbones we need to become like Hollywood. If Nigerians support us as much as they support foreign movies, we will be competing favourably with Hollywood. Nigerian support is just so powerful and we know this. We really need it and that is why we have been striving to please Nigerians with the movies we are producing nowadays all in spite of the general economic challenges every Nigerian entrepreneur is facing. Most of the Nollywood movies in the Cinemas right now are 100 percent Hollywood standard, but majority of Nigerians will not know about them because they don't go to watch movies at the Cinemas. So please go to the Cinemas every now and then and see the efforts we ave made" http://www.newseveryhour.com/2017/08/some-nigerian-movies-are-better-than.html |

That girl is very stupid. So because u are a little chubby and u have a poor image of urself means that u should be claiming Seyi's baby is obesed. Everybody writing all this about the little child should consider themselves a waste of sperm. Imagine that kid growing up in her teens and reading all these rubbish predictions on the internet about her future. Many Nigerians have now lost their sense of responsibility that even a baby is now the focus of their cyber bullying. That the baby is chubby now doesn't mean she will grow up obesed. I had a little cousin who was extremely fat as a baby. We usually disposed her Cerelac tins with a big sack every now and then because she liked food a lot. But by the time she was around 10 years old, her mum became worried as the girl became very skinny even though she still ate a lot. I could recall how the mum often dewormed her regularly thinking it was worms that didn't allow her to get fat. She often gave her multivitamins all to no avail. This Kemi should not have been released from prison because she is obviously a menace to society |

What A Nigerian Abroad Told Actress Ufedo Sunshine Who Said "Come Back Home" The actress who starred along side Bukky Wright, Cossy Orjiakor, Keppy Ekpenyong Bassey and others in the movie "Pure Honey" has been in the US for a while for a Nollywood-Hollywood movie shoot has something to say about her current New York location and her area, Lekki in Lagos Nigeria. The interesting aspect of what the Executive Producer of the movie "X-List" wrote, was when she told a Nigerian in the US about the need to return home to contribute, and the Nigerian replied her; "The hardship here is more comfortable than the pleasure in Nigeria". Lol... We all know why majority of Nigerians abroad will never return home. There is hardly any news from Nigeria nowadays that will encourage an average Nigerian abroad, or in a country like the US to pack their bags and just want to go back home. I had a conversation recently with a Nigerian living here in the US for over 20 years, I tried to convince him to return home. Guess what he said, “The hardship here is more comfortable than the pleasure in Nigeria.” Govt have been paying lip service to brain-gain, but truth be told, If you are a Nigerian living in a country like the US and you've finally decided that you want to go back to your motherland after all these years, if you see these disturbing images of Lekki flooding, won't you change your mind? Or you hear about the widespread jungle justice on innocent people everywhere and the horrible Badoo ritual killing in Ikorodu, will you still want to go home? Police harassment of innocent youth they see with iphones and laptops, arrest and delay of judgment of high profile criminals and too many other sad occurrences to mention. Why are we so backward in Nigeria? I know that the cost of comfortable living in many parts of the Island is almost the same for comfortable living in a place like New York City or some parts of the US. But, compare both. No good drainage in Lekki, the few poor drainages are blocked with trash yet the ‘rich and classy’ residents will come abroad and will not dare throw a piece of paper on the floor. We all must change our ways, because there is no place like home. Govt and individuals, we all must think deeply. Let's play our roles. Let's be kind to our environment and our environment will be kind to us... #prayfornigeria #godhelpnigeria #flood #realchange #ilovenigeria #godblessnigeria https://www.instagram.com/ufedo_sunshine/

Who gets the rare opportunity of being prayed for by two of their biggest role models and influences, and also gets to work plus fraternise with them closely all at the budding stage of their careers? Well, there is someone whose case is different. Barely a month after news and video went viral showing music legend, 2baba blessing highly gifted and phenomenal HND Records’ fast-rising Afro Pop artiste cum producer, Demmie Vee, a new video has emerged also showing musical ancestor 9ice doing the same. Just as fans home and abroad have continued to get seriously curious over these musical godfathers’ unblinking endorsement of the new kid on the bloc; just like 2baba,9ice has also jumped on a song by Demmie Vee. While 2baba featured on Demmie Vee’s highly inspirational smash hit “Awesome God”, music giant 9ice recently ended a lengthy studio session with the young artiste for a remix of his trending single, “Love Me Tender” and we have the finished remix for you. Before this remix with 9ice,the original version “Love Me Tender” song by Demmie Vee with a high definition video shot in South Africa was one of the highly played songs on Nigerian TV stations. Infact,it has gone from a Top Notch song to a Lyrics On The Go category on Hiptv, one of the most respected TV stations in Nigeria. In this remix of “Love Me Tender”, 9ice now fondly called 'The Ancestor' by fans totally transformed the romantic/ wedding song into a highly serenading rhythm reminiscent of his usual indigenous flavour that has today made him iconic in the industry. And of course, the boy of the moment Demmie Vee took his delivery on this remix to another level in what can best be described as simply, MAGIC! While we wait for the official music video of the remix dropping in a matter of days, listen to the new track “Love me Tender” remix by Demmie Vee featuring 9ice and also watch the video of 9ice blessing Demmie Vee in the ancestral way. Jude legemah who is still basking in the euphoria of the cinema succes of Brother Jekwu and the successful 7 US states tour/premiere of Esohe both movies he worked on, says that although there are many respectful, polite and professional actors in Nollywood, a whole lot of others lack manners and disregard towards the hard works of Editors who make the movies a polished work and most times cover up for the incompetence of the actors. "Most times, yes they treat us with disrespect. They forget that it's the Editor most especially that cover their mistakes. Most top actors respect us but the others and upcoming actors, especially ladies that don't know about production tend to look down on production crews, " Edo state born Legemah said. Asked how often production editors have to help most actors cover up incompetencies, Jude Legemah who is gearing up for the UK tour of the movie" London Fever" next month had this to say; " If I should rate it per percentage, it should be 95%. It happens all the time; where actors miss their lines, forget their continuity, etc these are part of the job we do on post production. In some instances you will notice that the actor you contracted to be in your movie is not confident enough to play the role. During auditions, they do well but once they stand in front of the camera, lights, the director calls action, they will not be able to deliver. Now, the only way out in this situation is to shoot the scene in bits, which is more work for the Editor. Don't get me wrong, we have a lot of amazing Actors and Actresses in Nollywood but we still have many of them that are mediocres." The talented and passionate filmmaker who has handled a lot of cinema quality Nollywood blockbuster movies and revealed a long list of titles he is currently busy with such as “Dream Fever”, “Okoro The Prince”, “Benevolence”, “What Just Happened”, “Christmas Is Coming”, “Drive”, “Blind Spot”, “Not Enough”, “A Star In Heaven”, “Breathless”, “30 Pieces Of Silver”, “When Marriage Sucks”, “Middle Of Nowhere”, “London Fever”, etc. also took his time to explain some of what the job of movie editors and DOPs entails in the chain of movie productions; He explained; "I always say that the industry has neglected editors . The post-production process mainly involves the editing of a video, and with the right editing skills, one can transform a rough cut video into a polished broadcast quality video. We utilize our expertise in editing to deliver quality promotional and marketable videos to our clients. Editing, at its most basic can help you put all your shots into the proper sequence. You use editing tools to weed out or fix any mistakes made during the production process. It can be used to trim the video to the length you want and it can also be used to communicate the right aesthetic to the audience. This is to say, without the Editor movie production or any production is not complete. With Director of Photography or a cinematographer is the chief over the camera and light crews working on a film, television production or other live action piece and is responsible for making artistic and technical decisions related to the image. The Director on set most times depend fully on the DOP to help him or her bring the picture to life. These people are the most important people in movie production." Jude Legemah who was trained by Charles Uwagbai shortly after studying Banking and Finance from University of Benin, is also a prolific documentary maker, how advised Nigerian actors to work more on their craft instead of putting money first and that they should also churn fake lifestyles, as a lot of them are addicted to living fake lives; "I remember one of the projects I worked on, the actress was from a very rich home and she allowed her self to be used as a production assistant and an actress. It shows how determined she was because i have seen several cases where her peers from the same type of background willl act very arrogant on set. In another case, you meet an actor, he lies about his identity you’ll later discover the truth before the end of the production. I must say this, most of our actors and actresses live a very fake life. And at the end, it tells on them. They need to just stop and be real... My advise to the rest of them is that they should should work on themselves before going on set. If you are given a role, do your research, practice at home, always bring your A game to the table, because you are Judge or rated by your last job. Actors should not work based on the pay they are receiving per job, they should always bring their best." Hogwash. You mean that even Wizkid's impact surpasses Davido's on the so called "local level"? The writer is joking. And it's also time we asked ourselves again, what it truly takes for an artist to be international. Can you go on the street of New York and ask 100 random persons if they know who Wizkid is and they will quickly tell you they do? |
