Whats Your Opinion About Jesus, The Christian God ![]() Curiousity killed the cat. Anyway, my opinion is that, you should give your life to Christ. And experience true peace of mind. For instance, imagine if you(A) were hiding in a Cave and I heard your voice through the word(s) of your mouth, won't I recognize that it's you-(A) speaking? So also is God's WORD i.e JESUS.@olabowale Did Morris and kolaxy forgot that if you went to the cave you will find the Physical speaker of the word? Where was God the Speaker Whom Jesus was His "Word as HIM" according to the argument above? With all due respect Sir Olabs, I'll say the above is the first reasonable analysis from you as far as this thread is concern.I'm not being respectful. You are right by saying I will find the Speaker in the above 'picture' cos it's physical desription. But we are discussing God here. Not Man.We are discussing: -One with unlimited power, unlimited wisdom, unlimited holiness -One who is the creator of all things, the sustainer of all things, the knower of all things -One who is eternal, immortal, and invisible Indeed, this Supreme Being fills the entire universe with His presence - Jer 23:23-24 But through jesus we see God. In coming to this earth, Jesus declared or manifested God to us - Jn 1:18 For one thing, He came to this earth from God, and is the only one who has truly seen Him - Jn 6:46 ![]() |

@Atheist, 'God sacrificing himself to himself so that he can forgive us of our sins', You are 100% right Whenever you forgive, you sacrifice. You absorb the pain and suffering of what is inflicted upon you. You choose not to relieve your pain through revenge, retribution, or in any other way. You take the penalty on yourself. That is what God in Christ did for us on the cross. He simply absorbed the pain, suffering, and justice for our sins. The physical, visible event was an outward manifestation and demonstration of the invisible and spiritual act of forgiving. We tend to see it in judicial and natural terms, but this is really about grace and eternity and God's way of expressing His love. It is relational. He does everything possible to block our way to hell. Hell is not His intent for us. There is no need for it. All the provision is made. ![]() |
@Bobbyaf: Let me ask you a simple question. Of the three persons that comprise the Deity, who will the redeemed see when they get to heaven? Just want your thought on it. Answer: GOD ![]() |
The doctrine of the Trinity — that God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are each equally and eternally the one true God — is admittedly difficult to comprehend, and yet is the very foundation of Christian truth. Although skeptics may ridicule it as a mathematical impossibility, it is nevertheless a basic doctrine of Scripture as well as profoundly realistic in both universal experience and in the scientific understanding of the cosmos-Quote from Henry Morris TRI-UNITY — The teaching of the Bible concerning the Trinity might be summarized thus. God is a Tri-unity, with each Person of the Godhead equally and fully and eternally God. Each is necessary, and each is distinct, and yet all are one. The three Persons appear in a logical, causal order. The Father is the unseen, omnipresent Source of all being, revealed in and by the Son, experienced in and by the Holy Spirit. The Son proceeds from the Father, and the Spirit from the Son. With reference to God's creation, the Father is the Thought behind it, the Son is the Word calling it forth, and the Spirit is the Deed making it a reality. THE FOLLOWING ARE MY PERSONAL SUBMISSION WITH INSPIRATION FROM THE 'WORD' OF GOD (Please I'll like to make it as simple as possible using 3 simple illustrations and I hope you'll read with an open mind) Introduction Jesus is God because He(Jesus) is the WORD of God. Let's just imagine the word(s) coming out of our mouth. Are they not part of us? Our word(s) is part of 'us'. So also our 'spirit'.We cannot separate ourselves from the words coming out of our mouth and likewise our spirit. I cannot say the word(s) coming out of your mouth is/are not yours or part of you. Likewise your spirit. To me,'YOU',YOUR WORD(S) and YOUR SPIRIT are still WHO you are as an 'ENTITY'. Same for God. God cannot separate himself from His WORD(Jesus) and His Spirit. For instance, imagine if you(A) were hiding in a Cave and I heard your voice through the word(s) of your mouth, won't I recognize that it's you-(A) speaking? So also is God's WORD i.e JESUS. 1) GOD the FATHER, GOD the SON and GOD the HOLY SPIRIT (TRINITY) IN 'THE BIRTH OF JESUS' That 'WORD' was what became 'Flesh or Man' in the womb of Virgin Mary through the Holy Spirit. Luke 1:34-35 reads, "How will this be," Mary asked the angel, "since I am a virgin?" The angel answered, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the POWER of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the SON of GOD. Note:the 'WORD' the power of God came to the Virgin Mary from God and with the help of the HOLY SPIRIT, it came upon the Virgin Mary and she became pregnant. John 1:14 reads; The Word(Jesus) became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. (Rev 19:11-13) And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. (2) GOD the FATHER, GOD the SON and GOD the HOLY SPIRIT (TRINITY) IN CREATION Genesis 1:1-4 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters. And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. NOTE:'God said let there be light'. That's HIS WORD(Jesus). If you believe that GOD'S WORD (Jesus)' is God's POWER,then you are there. Through him(WORD)God created everything.John 1:1-4, 14 In the beginning the Word(Jesus) already existed. The Word(Jesus) was with God, and the Word(Jesus) was God. He(Jesus) existed in the beginning with God. God created everything through Him(Jesus), and nothing was created except through Him(Jesus). The Word(Jesus) gave life to everything that was created, and His life brought light to everyone. So the Word(Jesus) became human and made His home among us. He(Jesus) was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen His glory, the glory of the Father's one and only Son. John 8:58 "Jesus said to them, 'Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am.' How possible? Answer above. "I and My Father are one." (John 10:30) So, it's the Father working through Jesus the Son(WORD) and Holy Spirit that created everything that was, that is and that will be. (3) GOD the FATHER, GOD the SON and GOD the HOLY SPIRIT (TRINITY) ONLY KNOWS ALL 1 John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word (the Son), and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one (KJV). Finally, "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End," says the Lord, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty." (Revelation 1: ![]() |
From Darkness To Light by Monthir Abdulatiff I was born and raised in a conservative Muslim family. Ever since I was ten years old I’ve been reading the Quran on a daily basis and performing my Islamic duties such as fasting and prayer. Then when I was twelve, I started going to the Friday prayer at the mosque next door every week. As years passed by, my knowledge in Islam increased. I was extremely religious but I had no true relationship with the God I was worshipping; for I always had felt that there’s a barrier separating me from God. That’s why I tried to reach him by performing those duties such as prayer and fasting. In spite of my religiousness, I felt that there was a great void within me filling me completely. I never knew what my fate was after death…. For I worshipped God on the outside only. But on the inside, I was a slave to many bad habits and lusts. I couldn’t break free from those habits by fasting, praying or trying to lead a spiritual life. What I truly needed was a heavenly force which would free me and break me loose from the bondage of sin. Through reading the Quran I discovered the greatness and uniqueness of our Lord "Isa (Jesus)" the Christ. He was wonderful and magnificent… for he’s the Word of God… a Spirit of God… and our intercessor in this life and the life to come…. he is close to God… he is the pure sinless child… he came to this world miraculously, for he was born of a Blessed Virgin untouched by man. Add to all that the fact that he lived a life free of sin and lusts – for the Quran says that all Prophets have sinned and asks for forgiveness from God, that is except for our master "Isa (Jesus)" the Christ. The Quran also says that he performed great miracles unmatched by anyone else. All of that made me wonder…. Who is this "Isa (Jesus)? Is he a mere Prophet? Or is he something greater? Why has the Quran given him all these privileges? With all the confusion I had I though I ought to search for the truth no matter what it would cost! So I endeavored on reading the Quran from beginning to end deeply. That was when I came upon a verse there, "If thou wert in doubt as to what We have revealed unto thee then ask those who have been reading the Book from before thee: the Truth hath indeed come to thee from thy Lord: so be in no wise of those in doubt. [Quran, Yunus 10:94, Yusuf Ali’s translation]". This verse was the key of answering all my questions and removing all my doubts… so I wondered, who are those who were reading "the Book" before the Muslims? The answer came to me from the Quran itself! Those are the Jews and Christians – for the Quran calls them "the People of the Book" because they have the Torah and the Injeel (Gospel), and the Quran orders every Muslim who doesn’t understand it to go back to the Torah and the Injeel (Gospel). That very day, I hurriedly bought a copy of the Holy Bible. I started reading it… in it I felt that the words of our Lord "Isa (Jesus)" cannot be the words of men; for no man or prophet dare say that he is the Way, Truth and Life… "No one comes to the Father except through me [John 14:6]"… "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. [John 8:12]"… I decided that I should study the life of our Lord "Isa (Jesus)" the Christ in more depth, for I was overwhelmed by great passion to know more about his unique character. I read in the Holy Bible that our Lord "Isa (Jesus)" the Christ came to the world to save man from sin, and to set him free from bondage to the Devil. I realized the truth of the Gospel in my personal life, and I found in the sinless person of our Lord "Isa (Jesus)" the Christ… well, I found in his sacrifice the solution to the problem of sin in my life. For in his crucifixion is the atonement for all my sins and iniquities. I decided to seek him and his precious blood for shelter because he is the one who died instead of me and shed his holy blood for me! I couldn’t achieve salvation on my own, not by doing good words or my duties or anything else for that matter. So I decided to submit my life to him. On that very day, I bowed my head and asked the Lord to forgive me my transgressions. Finally, I accepted Jesus as my Savior. But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous-Matthew 5:43-45 So can you honestly and truely show love to your enemy? Everyone is allowed to contribute. No discrimination ![]() |

Dear Jesus, I thank you for the gift of life |
A dictionary definition of a Christian would be something similar to “a person professing belief in Jesus as the Christ or in the religion based on the teachings of Jesus.” While this is a good starting point, like many dictionary definitions, it falls somewhat short of really communicating the biblical truth of what it means to be a Christian. The word “Christian” is used three times in the New Testament (Acts 11:26; 26:28; 1 Peter 4:16). Followers of Jesus Christ were first called “Christians” in Antioch (Acts 11:26) because their behavior, activity, and speech were like Christ. The word “Christian” literally means, “belonging to the party of Christ” or a “follower of Christ.” Unfortunately over time, the word “Christian” has lost a great deal of its significance and is often used of someone who is religious or has high moral values but who may or may not be a true follower of Jesus Christ. Many people who do not believe and trust in Jesus Christ consider themselves Christians simply because they go to church or they live in a “Christian” nation. But going to church, serving those less fortunate than you, or being a good person does not make you a Christian. Going to church does not make you a Christian anymore than going to a garage makes you an automobile. Being a member of a church, attending services regularly, and giving to the work of the church does not make you a Christian. The Bible teaches that the good works we do cannot make us acceptable to God. Titus 3:5 says, “He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.” So, a Christian is someone who has been born again by God (John 3:3; John 3:7; 1 Peter 1:23) and has put faith and trust in Jesus Christ. Ephesians 2:8 tells us that it is “…by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.” A true Christian is a person who has put faith and trust in the person and work of Jesus Christ, including His death on the cross as payment for sins and His resurrection on the third day. John 1:12 tells us, “Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” The mark of a true Christian is love for others and obedience to God’s Word (1 John 2:4, 10). A true Christian is indeed a child of God, a part of God’s true family, and one who has been given new life in Jesus Christ. |
Quoting @Sleek29 above 'And please explain this situation in this hadith bukhari vol 4 no 260 Ali burnt some people and this news reached Ibn 'Abbas, who said, "Had I been in his place I would not have burnt them, as the Prophet said, 'Don't punish (anybody) with Allah's Punishment.' No doubt, I would have killed them, for the Prophet said, 'If somebody (a Muslim) discards his religion, kill him.' " Question My question for Uncle Olabowale is this.I've heard u say in 1 of your posts that you are married to an ibo girl who is now a very good muslim.I respect her decision. No problem. Hi @cocain. Please I didnt get the last part of your intro.I dont want to jump guns.Pls can you clarify? Why Should I Believe Jesus Die 4me? This is an interesting question, one that many have asked themselves. The fact of the matter is that Jesus did not have to die for you, for me, or for any other person. He did so voluntarily, out of love for his heavenly Father and the fallen human race. But why did Jesus have to die? Was there no other way? What was the reason? The Scriptures tell us that Jesus died that we might have life. Some may think this unnecessary because they have life now. Sure we have life for a few short years, but we all die, some sooner, some later. But this was not God's original intention when he created man. God created man perfect, in his own image and likeness. God intended man to have perfect health and happiness, to live forever on a perfect earth. Gen. 1:27; 2:7; 15-17 Please try read the following for your answers; Adam Sins -- His Penalty is Death In order for man to continue to enjoy this blessed privilege of life, God requires one thing -- perfect obedience. Our first parent, Adam, was tested along these lines, and he failed. He disobeyed God and ate of the forbidden fruit. The penalty of his sin was death. This may at first seem a harsh penalty, but the lesson is brought forcibly home that God cannot and will not allow willful, disobedient creatures to retain their gift of life. And so the dying process began for Adam. No longer did he enjoy perfect health -- mentally, morally, or physically. And we inherit this same dying condition from Adam, because this was all he had to give us. Gen. 3:17-19; 5:3 The Philosophy of the Ransom Because Adam sinned, did God just give up on him and the whole human race? Did he throw up his hands and say, What's the use? Did he forget about us altogether and write us off as a failed experiment? Thank God, no! God knew exactly what would happen and had a plan for remedying the situation before man was ever created. God had arranged that his only begotten son, Jesus, would release man from the penalty of death by his own death on the cross. But how could this be? you might ask. How could the death of one man pay the penalty for millions? The Scriptures tell us the answer. The whole human race, yet unborn, was condemned to earth in the one man Adam. The whole human race will be released from the death penalty by the obedience of the one perfect man -- Jesus Christ. God's justice is thus satisfied, an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, a perfect life for a perfect life. Romans 5:14-19; 1 Tim. 2:3-6 Jesus Gave His Life so we Might Have Life This being true, why do we not yet see mankind delivered from the penalty of sin? Is not the race still going down daily into death? Why is this so if Jesus' sacrifice for sin is finished, if the corresponding price has been paid for Adam? The Scriptures answer this question. They declare that God at this time is selecting the footstep followers and joint sacrificers with Christ, who shall by and by share with him in the kingdom, which shall break off the shackles of sin and open the prison doors of death and set free all the captives who long for freedom. Romans 8:19 If you have heard of this blessing that has come to you, you might inquire, Lord, what will you have me to do? The Apostle answers, "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable serve." Rom. 12:1 To the heart fully in harmony with God, these are precious words, full of comfort and joy. ![]() Source; Hartford Bible Students * P.O. Box 493 * Manchester, CT 06045 |
@dwonder, Thanx 4 that question you asked about the 'word' been with God.I believed you understand what 'word' means. Now,my question is this: Is/are the word(s) that comes out of your mouth part of who you are or not? If you can honestly answer the question, then you are of the light and not of darkness.Take care ![]() |
