Treasure17: The industry is a thing now and it's alarming. Let your conscience be thy guiding light. Irrespective of any circumstances, I will never venture into such. I wasn't raised that way. The society isn't helping the situation and we've kind of normalize it. As I'm typing, the association of yahoo Boys end of the year party is going on in my street. Fraud can’t last forever however, if you have immediately needs for money, I’ll suggest you do what’s right and work harder. Note that in yahoo, you have to get dirty to chill with the big boys no matter how little the dirty may be. That your cousin is dirty but he won’t tel you now till the bond is there. There's is wisdom in what you said |

telim: I rearly comment on this type of topics but will take my time to advice you as an internet marketer that earns good cash online per annum . Earning decent amount of cash online as a service provider is a tedious process and requires building reputation for a long term so as to attract repeat clients and referrals from your loyal customers.
You dont need to waste alot of your time brainstorming for ideas just recreate internet marketing services that are provided by small companies in tier one countries and give a discount of 25 to 30% to attract customers from your competitors. Eg proxy services, emailing services, social media services, seo services and many more of them. If you are to learn a skill, focus on skills that bring in huge cash and be a pro at it.
Also try as much as possible to avoid platforms that promote internet slavery eg fiver and there likes because you won't make good cash from such platform due to the presence of massive competition.
Only fools waste there time on Yahoo yahoo. It is not a sustainable live style, most of them will endup becoming a ritualist, criminals or addicted to drug.
Try as much as possible to avoid yahoo friends and Dont invest your hard earn money on ebooks or methods. Internet marketers that earn good cash online dont have time to be writing ebooks. Please boss how can I contact you for further mentorship? |

Aaaaarghmed: Let's no deceive ourselves, scam is not good.some will lie that no job,the truth is if you give some job, they prefer to do fraud and flaunt.99 percent of yahoo boys are happy with their yahoo profession and they boldly tell you,and even dress like one for you to know, even the one wey never collect,go still dress make u know say e dey press. What is bad is bad make we no coat am. The lip service the agency fighting financial crime is paying to them is encouraging them! They catch them, collect their own share in the name of bail and releases them without further prosecution. |

I really don't know if I'm posting this in the right section but hopefully, I'll get the input from esteemed nairalanders both young and old. I'd really love to hear from the successful young men and women here. Growing up, I've had this clear career path. Everyone wants to succeed in life. I recently graduated from the university (top of my class, if that is necessary). I thought it wise to get a digital marketing skill to augment my Marketing degree. My main concern now is, won't I succeed without scamming (doing yahoo)? Are all successful people out there scammers? Or did they at some point in their young lives scam? I was woken up with a message from a cousin bro of mine who's obviously doing well for himself in the Yahoo industry (has a Lexus RX 350 and other landed property). He's sounding as if I'm not doing the right thing in life. 8 out of 10 young people (aged 16 and above) are into the Yahoo industry. Are all successful people into some shady deals out there? The government and its agencies isn't even helping matter as they act like it's a norm in this country. I surely won't want my children to ask me questions about what I was doing when my mates were making money. The pressure is too much!!

The way you reason though. I am not trying to say Yahoo is good. I am totally against it. What I'm trying to say to you is that it has eaten deep into our society that we don't see it as bad again. Especially when it involves scamming white people. You've heard news of lecturers involving in yahoo right? That is to tell you that some now see it as a means of livelihood. I'm being realistic here. P.S. I don't support scamming neither can I scam others |

I agree with you. But after pointing us towards a direction, the reality of the matter is that the Nigerian system is not making effort to absorb graduates. You might talk about becoming an entrepreneur, no be money dey required? Had it been there are adequate industries in the country, other subsidiaries could emerge from there |

Areola14: Friend, higher institutions in Nigeria is a waste! Best schooling is primary and secondary school.. If you are thinking that when you finishes higher institution, you will get a better job, you are a joke! When I was in primary school, I have a friend called Bayo, Bayo dropt out in primary 5 because of financial constraints and went to learn furniture work. We the rest students thought the guy life is ruin without a secondary school edu. Friends, when I would finished from higher institution, this guy had married a graduate girl from LASU, three children, has 3 keke mauwa, two danfo buses delivering money for him everyday, he still have his own work shop, now he has built his own house. The only respect he has for me is because, we attended the same primary school, but talking of achievement, his better than me. Brother... To be sincere with you, I call him chairman mi with my hands up, instead of him calling me that. When I would get a work with all my qualification, is still a marketing job of 50k... Most of our educated ladies are bleeped anyhow by these illiterates guys because of money.... Come to my town and see how small boys driving tipper are laughing at us. Sometimes I wish I didn't venture into this journey. I'd have found peace with whatever handwork I'm doing now. |
Education › Can I Apply For A Refund For Everything I Spent In A Nigerian University? by Kolenda(op): 2:25pm On Oct 18, 2021 |
Just as the topic says, I feel like I've been scammed. Having gone through the university for 4 years+ASUU+COVID, I feel empty inside of me. I know I didn't graduate with what the industry needs. But why is the Nigerian university churning out graduates without the required skill? I graduated as the best in my dept with over 4 point.... But I still feel like I don't have what the industry wants. Now in my quest to acquire a digital marketing skill to augment my Marketing degree, I am required to pay a sum of 60k for a course plus hands on project over the duration of 12 weeks. Where will I get such amount of money from? How can I source for funds now? I am just thinking out loud..... Can I apply for a refund in our conventional university? At least I can be able to acquire the skills the industry needs... |
