Nigeria may eventually get sucked into the global trend of negative-yielding bonds as seen in Germany,

Really?
Even Bond going south. Indeed the handiwork of the Economic Advisory Team. My advice for investors is to be careful with their hard earned funds, and be mindful of investment opportunities and proliferation of mushroom investment houses springing up lately. This is an interesting times in 9ja. Still don't understand the game plan, our neighbor (Ghana) had pretty good rate for their TB. Not that 9ja economy is doing better. I'll rather leave my money idle or in mmf than going for 5% TB or 8% saving bonds

Treasury Bills Rate Weakens to 3.5% as Demand Wanes - Business Post Nigeria
https://businesspost.ng/economy/treasury-bills-rate-weakens-to-3-5-as-demand-wanes/

the rate for the 91-day treasury bill was weakened to 3.50 percent from 4.00 percent, the 182-day tenor was slightly lowered to 4.90 percent from 5.00 percent, while the 364-day maturity marginally declined to 5.20 percent from 5.50 percent.

The CBN has continued to lower treasury bills rates at the primary market to spur lending in the real sector of economy, while those for OMO bills are left high to attract foreign investors so as to boost the nation’s foreign reserves, which dropped below $40 billion some weeks ago.

The War On Children - The Agenda To Sexualize Our Children
The schools are now a place where children are being sexualized on a daily basis.

Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) is one of the greatest assaults on the health and innocence of children. This is because unlike traditional sex education, comprehensive sexuality education is highly explicit and promotes promiscuity and high-risk sexual behaviors to children as healthy and normal. CSE programs have an almost obsessive focus on teaching children how to obtain sexual pleasure in various ways.

CSE teaches children they can choose their gender.
CSE teaches 5-year-olds they can pleasure themselves sexually.
CSE teaches 9-year-olds how to put on a condom.
CSE teaches children to use statements such as: "I like it when you touch me here."
https://www.comprehensivesexualityeducation.org/

Nigeria is one of few countries that have translated national policies on school-based CSE into near-nationwide implementation. Nigeria’s CSE program is known as the Family Life HIV Education (FLHE) curriculum. The National Family Life and HIV Education (FLHE) Curriculum was
approved by the 49th session of the National Council on Education in 2002.

Ofcom plans ban on mobile firms selling 'locked' phones
Mobile phone companies would be banned from selling ‘locked’ handsets, under a range of new plans from Ofcom to make switching even simpler.

Companies including BT/EE, Tesco Mobile and Vodafone still sell mobile phones that cannot be used on other networks unless they are unlocked, which can cost around £10. Ofcom research has found that more than a third of people who decided against switching said this put them off.

So we are proposing to ban mobile companies from selling locked phones, allowing people to move to a different network with their existing handset, hassle-free.

We are also planning to make it easier to switch between broadband networks, as part of a broad package of protections for customers that reflect new European rules.

You can't bid. The rate is fixed during the offer period. Once it is listed on the stock exchange you can then buy or sell.

Thank you.
I've heard of Primary and Secondary Market in Fgn Bond but I've not heard of primary market in Fgn Savings Bond.
Does it mean individuals are not allowed to bid for the primary market of Fgn Savings Bond and that is why it's not pronounced or it doesn't just exist at all?

Primary market

isangjohnson:
Again, is 10.091% rate of 3yrs investment for secondary market?
InvestmentRe: FGN Savings Bond by Kolping: 12:16am On Dec 05, 2019
Correct

isangjohnson:
Is the current rate 9.091% for 2yrs?
Again, if 5m is logged in for this rate, yearly interest I'm assuming is #454,550 and quarterly interest is #113,637.
Please someone should confirm this calculation for me.

Nigeria Digital Economy Diagnostic Report (English)

http://documents.worldbank.org/curated/en/387871574812599817/Nigeria-Digital-Economy-Diagnostic-Report

ABSTRACT
As the biggest economy in Africa with one of the largest youth populations in the world, Nigeria is well-positioned to develop a strong digital economy. This would have a transformational impact on the country. In order to reap the benefits, Nigeria needs to focus on accelerating improvements in five fundamental pillars of a digital economy: digital infrastructure, digital platforms, digital financial services, digital entrepreneurship and digital skills. The Nigeria Digital Economy Diagnostic report identifies key challenges and opportunities of leveraging the digital economy for diversified and sustained growth. It provides an assessment of the state of Nigeria’s digital economy around the five foundational pillars. The report also offers specific, actionable recommendations to the government and private sector stakeholders to further Nigeria’s development of each pillar. The report was produced in the context of the Digital Economy (DE4A) initiative, an African Union initiative supported by the World Bank Group, which aims to digitally connect every person, business, and government in Africa by 2030.

1. Yes, you must subscribe through a stockbroker that is recognized by the Debt Management Office. The list of stockbrokers can be foud on the DMO website.

Regarding cost of registering with a stockbroker, it varies from stockbroker to stockbroker. You may have to check each one to find out their requirements.

2. No, you cannot subscribe through a commercial bank.

I hope this answers your questions.

U1:
Good morning, everyone. I was hoping someone here could help clarify a couple of things regarding the Savings Bond.

1. I read that one has to subscribe through a stockbroker. May I have an idea of what that will entail cost-wise (fees et al)?

2. Is it at all possible to subscribe through a bank just like treasury bills?

CC: Kolping and any one knowledgeable about this.

Thanks in anticipation.

Well, it depends. FIRS will have to find a way to provide TIN for individuals not working in the formal sector of the economy in order to maintain their bank accounts.

Oh ok. Do you work for a company or organization in the private or public sector in Nigeria? If so, then your personal income tax should have been remitted to the state government in which your company is located.

You may have to contact the Joint Tax Board to find out why your TIN is not listed with them.

I did but says can't be found. Reason I asked the question.
