SmartPolician:Actually it was classed as a mental abnormality and illness by the American psychiatric association , up until ,1973 . Then it was declassified not by empirical research but socio political lobbying. The scientific pathological deduction remains ,The presence of atypical gender behavior or feelings are symptoms of the disease or disorder to which mental health professionals need to attend https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4695779/ |
ChrisKels:Everything is TIME limited at that TIME. Bitter leaf Soup merchant, when was this quote made and who substantiated it the national team coach at that TIME . Players improve some don't some do this is football it's always been time related |
chrisooblog:Who said that , l wonder |
Papi85:A confirmed signed, sealed and delivered bribe taking thief |
BOOOMNAIJA:Almost a decade ago Oviemuno Ejaria and Ademola Lookman attended a U17 Nigeria selecteion event in London. Ejaria was in Arsenal then and none of them were selected. Why because they were according to the NFF officials not good enough. It's how we do our things |
elyte89:Talent is potential yet to be realised. Which really is nothing to boast about until it's proven and established. There are more talented footballers who didn't make it than those who did. |
Meliforme:I don't think it's so simplistic. Iwobi goal scoring record over his entire career is very far from prolific. He does a lot of good work coming forward and since at Everton also backtracking and defending. However, he sometimes flatters to decieve that he should score a lot more as a AM/ CM . Bu he just doesn't. On the other hand Eze coming forward look a lot more likely to score. A comparison of their statistics confirms the observation. Iwobi in over 8 seasons of EPL football has never scored more than 3 goals in a season. It's predominantly 1 or 2 goals as a season. Eze first season in the EPL he scored 4 after scoring 14 goals in the Championship. Eze didn't do too much in 2021/22 he was largely injured but still scored 1 goal after 13 games coming on largely as a substitute from injury. But it's 11 games and he has scored 2 and Iwobi after 12 has scored 1. I really have no preference but as a goal threat and I think Eze has a bit more invention and unpredictability. I think the SE could play with both and a hard working DM like Onyeka and or Ndidi behind them. |
Danielnino00:Name one player from a backwater league in Europe l have CLAMOURED for to be in the SE. ❓ There is no mathematical equation that says the more minutes you play the more goals you will DEFINITELY score. However , the more you perform the more minutes you will be given and vice versa. Scoring goals in the EPL is not the same as scoring against low level teams in Cup games. In most cases when you come on as a substitute you have an advantage. The opposing team is tired and prone to making mistakes due to fatigue. Statisticallu speaking near %60 of goals are scored in the second half of games. Substitutions will largely be in the second half, players coming on in the second half are fresh and full of energy it's an advantage. You will find in the EPL opportunities are given to youth players to participate in cup in games because they don't consider them that important. |
yinkeys:So effectively what you are saying is that Manchester City FC can make a bang average striker look very good and make an excellent striker , "SUPER MAN" I said years ago the true test of KC is when he leaves Man city and isn't surrounded by world players making him look wonderful. Look at his trajectory with Liecester City his first season 2017–18 after 21 games just 3 goals scored, followed by 2018–19 season 30 games and just shockingly 1goal all season. The 2019–20 season was 20 games and 5 goals still very poor. He then astounded everybody with a very good season 2020/21 it's like he got some Viagra and found his potency he scored 12 goals from 25 games. But the last two seasons he has returned back to his level he's played 9 games and 1 goal this season he had 4 goals from 26 games last season. But many here call him clinical finisher top striker etc and when you put the be facts on ground ,they say it's HATE. |
Ppogbae:Smalling for 90 minutes had him more or less caged till he stumbled and VO got him wrong sided and scored a top class goal from a near impossible angle. |
Karlovych:A newly promoted team will not pay such high wages for a striker who has been impotent for the vastly larger part of his career. Truth must be said . Also he is not really a traditional type striker he cannot hold the line and has no hold up play |
Karlovych:KC has very little to get a big move. KC has had one good season and 5 abysmally poor seasons out of six seasons in the EPL with Leicester. Who will want him in the EPL ❓He will have to look at a less competitive league and much lower wages. |
Outstanding goal by VO . Didn't see it coming the game had become a negative stalemate with very little in terms of inventive creativity coming from Roma. Mourinho was negative and playing on the break more defence than attack. Napoli wanted to win and VO was patient and a mistake by Smalling who got wrong sided. Nonetheless, it was a near impossible angle and IMO a world class strike, FABULOUS goal. He is got 4 goals from 7 games it's exceptionally good but to be a top striker, End of season should not have less than 18. But there is plenty of time and must stay injury free. |
charlesemeka85:Football is harsh and in many regards unsympathetic, injury is part of the equation in player assesment. If you are not careful you can be labelled injury prone. That's why top players institute all kinds of pre training programs to remain injury free. |
forgiveness:Compare him to all the forward players Chelsea have bought , he is far off the mark. They are players at the top of their Leagues , as top goal scorers in league and club. VO is an excellent player with great potential but he has not attained top goal scorer or similar in a top league YET. After this season if he doesn't become a top five goal scorer in Seria A, then his potential to be world class will be questioned and indeed his value. |
jihday:You have a micro view, ( selling pure water) my comments are much more in-depth and encompassing. Before you comment it is wisdom to actually read then understand and appreciate the context of comments and read the entirety of the write up not just a small segment. Poverty is a state of mind as well as a socio-economic paradigm. Do you know what its like to sit in a freezing cold house because you cannot afford to heat your home. Having a permanent cold and the flue. Poverty has the same psychological and socio-economic impact irrespective of location. The degree may be different relatively but the loss of well being and self esteem remain the same. |
TheLoneCitizen:You assume like many here that it's only players that come from deprivation in Africa. That have the resilience and determination to succeed and over come all the odds. For starters go and check Lukaku story , it's incredible his rise to becoming one of the best strikers in the World. Essentially he has been top of his game since age 16 when he started playing for Anderlecht first team. There is poverty in Europe as well , so consider things in context. In my opinion physical damage and struggle are not as significant as psychological damage that impacts on your sense of identity, self esteem, aspiration and convictions. The damage that institutional racism, discrimination, exclusion, unconscious bias, race motivated abuse, negative race based denigration, etc, etc . These present and continuous , behaviours are ingrained but are strongly held by the decision makers and owners of football clubs in Europe. Eberechi was released and rejected by over 10 clubs, before my friend Chris Ramsey ( he is black) brought him to QPR after being released by Millwall. Shockingly within 6 month's he was in the first team There are many more similar stories were black players are disproportionately affected by negative decision that are anchored on racial discrimination. |
TheLoneCitizen:Osimhen yes But Chukwueze hmmm get as he be. |
IDENNAA:Why do you find it so hard to be civil. Is it that you have a continuous meal of bitter leaf Soup night and day. Anywhere you go, you create rancour and contention and your diction is filled with vitriolic rhetoric and non stop abuse. Why are you at war with the world, you desperately need deliverance. |
Philosopher1979:You are talking about his first game. Check your facts before you make errant assumptions. Joe Aribo selection to the SE was made well before he played for the SE and or Rangers. The date you actually play a game is not necessarily the date you be were given selection. His selection in its entirety was anchored on his performance for Charlton athletic and in league one. He already had a premier League offer but chose Rangers. |
Not too long ago , l presented my substantive view that the Segundo division is not a high quality and competitive league iis largely on the level of the English league one or even less for some teams. I used Villa Real B, a Segundo division team sitting at 13th position as a loose benchmark to appreciate the low quality. Villa Real B beat Wolves U21 in a tightly contested match 2-1. I substantiated my view that no PL2 side can compete in the English Championship. And most of not all will struggle in league one. Recently Wolves U21 played Liverpool FC U21, and got promptly flogged 5-0 . Quite a few were arguing with me vociferously that most of the PL2 teams will thrive in the Championship. I said a very big NO. During that debate,I said Liverpool FC are going to play Accrington Stanley from league one, I projected they would beat Liverpool FC U21. Well they did 3-2. Considering that we seem to be gassing players in the Segundo division and all the backwater leagues of Europe. Should we also be looking at players in league one in England. After all Aribo came from Charlton athletic in league one, straight to the SE and has been outstanding.

Steven Gerrard sacked, not surprised and l could see it coming from a mile away. When Steven Gerrard got the Rangers job he took with him Michael Beale. He actually is the brains behind all the success. He was actually the head of U12 development at Liverpool FC, when Steve was coaching the U18's. Beale was once the asst. Manager at Sao Paulo in . Brazil. He really knows his stuff. Beale has gone to Manage QPR and with few resources he is sitting top of the Championship and still playing good quality football. He has given a new lease of life to Balogun as well as once very promising Tottenham midfielder Luke Amos who has suffered two cruciate ligament injuries. |
jieta:This is the beauty of democracy. Truss was shambolic in her ineptitude, caused the pound £ to drop by over 15% to a level not seen in 30+ years. Cut taxes for the highest earners, etc and was essentially clueless. Add to that did a complete renegade on her election promises. As a consequence she lasted 44 days. Now compare that to our system PMB to describe him as shambolic, inept, incompetent, lawless ( no regard for the rule law ) is a gross understatement. But he has been in power albeit through a very dubious election process, for going to 8 years. How many Nigerian politicians and public officials if subjected to a British judiciary system would be in jail for corruption ❓in my estimation more than 55%. This is a democratic system that works we have democrazy with impunity not democracy. |
Papi85:It will all depend on his stats at the end of the season. The more he doesn't perform at the top end of the league and I mean being in the top 5 of goal scorers in his league the less likely his claimed move to Chelsea will come into being. Chelsea will be looking at several forward players and they will all be top performers in their Leagues. |
Joebie:There is NOTHING to say. We all know that age falsification is endemic in every area of life in Nigeria. If a person realises that by shaving off 3/4/5 ,etc years of his age, will be the difference between staying in Nigeria in abject poverty with zero prospects in life. Or going to Europe playing football with a crazy money and great prospects. What will 99.9% of people do , particularly as there is no means of proving that he is telling lies. So why are we all pretending that nobody age cheats in Nigeria. |
andrewbaba44:Go and find out and compare it to VO. |
AndSunGorilla:Sadio is not given the recognition and respect he deserves. |
jihday:Nunez was the top goal scorer in Portuguese league , 26 goals from 28 games in one season is astounding, he was also just 21 in the 2020/21 season. VO has never been the top goal scorer in any league he has played. No doubt he is a very good player. But in terms of actual achievements he has not done better than Nunez. He has been in Seria A for what is his third season, has he done better than everyone else, has he been the top goal scorer. He has absolutely HUGE POTENTIAL but we are still waiting to see it. Comparison to Haaland , Mbappe, Lukuku, etc doesn't help. Let's celebrate his achievements but don't over GAS it. |
Samueltemi337:It's baffling until tomorrow. |
charlesemeka85:Lookman is a traditional winger and he's getting by those statistics. But nobody calls him monster or dangerous clinical finisher. |
TheGoodJoe:Don't presume knowledge ascertain it. How many peopl do you know at FIFA not from Nigeria, l know a few and wouldn't call it them subject specific specialists. Talk for yourself and not others |
