darkelf: Thanks for this info. Never knew Dominic Iorfa was a CB. If he wishes to play for Naija, he would be a welcome addition
Dominic Iorfa made a commitment to play for Nigeria in late 2016. In March 2017 Rohr visited him and his position was reiterated he was then a first team regular at Wolves. Promises were made by Rohr but to date No call up or invitation from the NFF.
WHY ❓ never ending speculation.
When Mono took over as Manager he moved him to CB his actual preferred position. Currently Wednesday have one of the best defensive records in the Championship with much credit given to Dominic.
kellycute: it is all about politic. I voted for komekn cos I didn't want him to complaint or try to pull down our homegrown players nominated for the awards. He is part of the committee and he won't wanna do that atleast we will have rest of mind.
Politic is a game!!!
I challenge you on the this open forum.
To give just ONE POST where I denigrated pulled down with emotive bias and negative sentiment any Nigerian born home grown player.
Your perception is not a substantive fact it's just your opinion be it biased misplaced or wrong.
Once again I CHALLENGE YOU to present one just one post.
Joebie: So who made it to the top over the weekend? Here is a review of Nigerians that made the team of the week and also featured in other important stats courtesy of WhoScored.
1. Cyriel Dessers makes the TOTW in the Eredivisie with the maximum possible points of 10.0, as well as Chidera Ejuke 2. Onyinye Ndidi takes a commanding place in Premier League's best XI at the heart of the midfield. 3. Dominic Iorfa takes his turn at Center Back in the Championship Best XI, after Tosin Adarabioyo was listed in last week's Best XI 4. Ebere Eze is the highest rated player in the English second tier with 7.54 points. Ovie Ejaria, on his part has climbed up the ranking to the 5th best player with a rating of 7.33.
Cream always rises to the top, another player knocking on the door of the SE. Was a RB but has become a quality CB.
EdegbeLine: Oga die matter! Everywhere, Everyone always begging forgiveness to die a particular topic and instead of him to respect his fellow humans even if they are faceless in a faceless forum, he keeps forging forward and forming boss. This is my second or third time of posting in this thread if I am not mistaken, but I have been an ardent follower of this thread for more than 2 years and the names I keep hearing for wrong reasons are yours and that uk base white and black rabbit with quadruple mouths.
It's apparent from the name you've given yourself that for the two years you have been visiting this thread. Just like the edegbeline you never stay long enough to learn ANYTHING .
That's a travesty after two years you came with nothing and still have learned nothing and your contributory comments are just that NOTHING.
If the man lacking wisdom remains quite it is assumed he is wise.
solonnachi: True Sir. We have good players in that U23 team but I am very scared about the technical input of our coaches.
Meanwhile, Mali has been knocked out after they lost their second game to Cameroon 0-1.
Any info on Egypt v Ghana?
I lack in depth knowledge of the players in the U23.
Please tell us more about the players. To say they are good. Is like presenting the starter of a three course meal and omit the main course and desert.
Just a few days ago, with a number of substantive reference points. Gave my agreement to the call up of Adama Traore.
I had even talked about his handicaps with a colourful analogy.
Very soon after my view was brought into contention with an allegation that l consistently criticise Chukwueze. It's implied unfairly, with negative bias and prejudice.
Once again it's all self birthed perception. With the usual hallelujah choristers joining in the song. What's new, NUTTIN
darkelf: If nobody in our league is good enough for the super eagles, then let none of them be included in the team. It is not Rohrs duty to improve in the quality of our league. That is the duty of the NFF and LMC. Rohr's duty is simply to scout for talents good enough for the Super Eagles. We must not allow sentiments make us embrace mediocrity.
This is a narrative coming from you seems somehow contradictory. Merit first and no other consideration are Nigerians ready for that.
I agree with your approach without reservation.
But in this forum there is a clear divide those who denigrate Nigerian origin players and those who promote Nigerian born players.
Most narratives are misconstrued to create a contention between the two sets of players.
Humility017: what a confused lad....he has the opportunity now to make the team at such a tender age and surely rise up the ladder in no distance time as an international for the most populated black nation on earth... but instead he opted for the English under 21....so bad.
anyway I must commend Pinnick for this even though I am not so happy with him...
He is far from confused he is very wise in playing the game. It's a bit like chess.
you are not new to this same controversy in the past over the release of African Players by Foreign club sides for CAF organized National Assignments like Qualifiers if not Organized competition.
And that is part of the reason why CAF itself decided to effect changes to the AFCON schedules from Even years to ODD ones as well as moving it now to during Seasonal breaks or what We call pre-season time frame.
As well as streamlining some of the Qualifiers to coincide with the international FIFA breaks or windows.
I'm very sure you are fully aware of this. So how is my input irrelevant please.
It's not about age but the importance of the player to the team.
If a player is a key player in the team the club will not release the player unless it's mandatory. Youth competition are not FIFA mandatory.
Years ago when AFCON would take place in the heat of the EPL season. Yobo lost his place in the team to Jagielka because Moyes had put pressure on Yobo not too go and he ignored Moyes and went. After that things were never the same again for him at Everton. It was not long before Yobo went to Fenerbache.
However, a lot of EPL clubs have quality Nigerian origin players not getting game time and those boys will not be denied opportunity to play for Nigeria U23.
As a consequence there is no need to be picking players who are effectively without clubs and or have not played competitive football for near 10 months.
There are way too many Nigerian origin players across the elite clubs of Europe. How good they are is open to debate nonetheless there is huge pool talent to select from.
Odunayaw: Dan I still don't understand why people here don't hurriedly scroll when they see his moniker under any post. How can someone be so full of turd!
Your prejudice has befuddled your sense of of understanding.
You jumped on this train of suppositions but didn't know where it started from or where it's going.
charlesemeka85: we have to respect the kids decision for now and give him the time he demanded to make up his mind. it makes no sense jumping into conclusion when you do not have an idea of what is happening behind the scene. the good thing is that he is in contact with rohr and pinnick and have never said he is not interested in playing for Nigeria in the nearest future
Thank you
Unfortunately many talk from a complete lack of knowledge.
charlesemeka85: Nice one, like I said previously let's remain hopeful
Do you remember the dogs abuse l got when o said Eze will play for Nigeria after all the dynamics and posturing required to conclude his long term future.
Danielnino00: My people, isn't it funny that somebody who constantly criticises Samuel Chukwueze for having a poor end product is now praising a player like Adama Traore?
Sometimes l wonder the school that some people have gone too.
Consider your diction, do you know what Constantly means.
What does the subject of Adama Traore have to do with Chukwueze. There is no relevance or connection.
The context is Spanish football and the call up of Adama Traore.
ChrisKels: Actually I never knew icon4s and Andrew were candidates to be voted too, I thought the two were picked automatically and the voting was to get a few others to join them in the parliament. It sounds funny some guys ( somehow, komkne, forgiveness et al) who have no clue what moves the initiator of this whole stuff has made to make this recognized outside this thread, are against having him in. I didn't understand the whole voting process and if the brain, sole organizer and financier of this award isnt in, then I don't see the need to continue with this, it is sure headed nowhere, Bkus I doubt anybody is gonna be as dedicated as Icons and sacrifice his time to get the plaques to the appropriate offices.
Hey guys if icons isn't in, then I ain't no party to this, my vote is null and avoid. I no be Una member so my vote shouldn't count.
What relevance is my unstated opinion on this matter. It seems you have created one for me from your own imagination.
Kbs468: IRELAND SQUADS ANNOUNCEMENT : ARSENAL'S OGUNGBO Among Nine Nigeria-Eligible Players Called Up
Published: November 10, 2019
The Football Association of Ireland have announced the rosters for the development squads ahead of forthcoming competitive matches in November, with nine Nigeria-eligible players making the cut.
Republic of Ireland Under-19 Head Coach Tom Mohan has included six Nigeria-eligible players in his squad list for European Championship qualifiers against Switzerland (November 13), Gibraltar (November 16) and Austria (November 19).
Arsenal defender Mazeed Ogungbo is set to add to his international caps at U19 level having made the squad and he's joined by Manchester City duo Gavin Bazunu and Timi Sobowale, Andrew Omobamidele, Festy Ebosele and former Arsenal schoolboy Armstrong Okoflex.
Ireland U17 Head Coach Colin O’Brien has selected two English-based players Tayo Adaramola and Olabosun Lawal in a 20-man group for the EURO qualifiers against Andorra, Montenegro and Israel.
Crystal Palace's Adaramola has been named in an Ireland squad for the first time in his young career.
Norwich City's Adam Idah has been named in the Ireland U21 squad for EURO qualifiers against Armenia and Sweden on November 14 and 19 respectively; Celtic's Jonathan Afolabi misses out through injury.
Nine Nigeria-Eligible Players Called Up By Republic of Ireland include
Kbs468: I think to some extent, He is right actually because it was due to club commitment that lead to AWONIYI and one other missed the opener against COTED'IVOIRE.
And they are to feature against SOUTH AFRICA and ZAMBIA in the next 2 matches because of international break since they are not invited to the SUPER EAGLES for the AFCON QUALIFIERS.
Your comment is not exactly relevant.
Because the comments were in a general context, not too specific players.
There is hardly any club in the EPL, Championship down to league one that does not have a number of Nigerian teenage players or older in England.
That's just England if you go to Europe you will find quite a few as well.
Clubs will not hold back youth players going yo play for Nigeria particularly those just on the fringe of first team football.
Clementoke: It seems Adama Traore is injured and has been ruled out of the qualifiers. He just has to stick with Spain now.
Traore terrorised Aston Villa today so where did you get that idea. Indeed the goal the first goal was conceded from a free kick that was given for a foul on Traore.
He hit the cross bar after a mazy run and burst of pace.
Collects the ball just outside his own 18 then beats a number of players and passes the ball to Jimenez to score.
No players has had more successful dribbles in match in the EPL than Adama Traore.
Today he was my MOTM.
There has been a few who have cast doubts about my judgment concerning Adama Traore. And my opinion that he in contention to be one of Spains better wingers. I hope today's performance should convince some not all just some.
He doesn't have to quote or screenshot you, your middle name is Peter and denial comes naturally to you. What matters is that we all read all the things you posted a couple of weeks ago about England boosting Eze's market more than Nigeria.
All your denial in the world will not change that, and Daniel does not need to start scouring this thread to prove to the hundreds of us that came across your post, that you actually said it. You can suffer your usual amnesia, we are used to you.
I know it's an anonymous forum.
Don't you have SHAME or any sense of DIGNITY.
To date you have made multiple claims but have never been able to SUBSTANTIATE NOT EVEN ONE.
For someone who has a law degree l am deeply perplexed. You pay no attention to detail and the specific diction used. But lay your entire supposition on self birthed presumption and perception.
jihday: OK go and remove him and put your Ikpeazu or anybody else. We've explained to you but you refuse to understand, no club will release an active player for this tournament we can only get bench warmers but you dey here dey cry. Continue
Unless you have personally spoken to at least 10 clubs and they have all said to you that they will not release thier players.
How therefore did you arrive at that conclusion.
There are a lot of U21 players on the fringe of first team football but far from regulars that will be easily released if asked. I am talking about EPL, Championship and league 1 clubs in England.
Can l ask how many clubs you have personally spoken too that made you arrive at that deduction. Or have you just used your imagination. ❓ ❓
Nigeria is not so desperate and devoid of talent that we have to use a players who has not played competitive football for near 10 months.
Danielnino00: There u go again.. denying ur own words... Were u not the same person telling us that Ebere Eze is delaying to honour our call up so he could boost his value with the English national team? U made the statement with Iorfa..
If u can't own up to ur words, then there's no need for further discussion... And don't ask me to post screenshots for proof..I no get time.
Quote me screen shot your evidence not your perception. You are making the allegation not me.
In what context where my comments made and with what specifics.
Anything taken out of context becomes a CON and misleading.
Danielnino00: Adama would be very lucky to get up to 5 caps with Spain... On the other hand he could have up to 50 with Mali and may even help them go further in Africa and maybe the world... Togo isn't up to Nigeria level in football but Emmanuel Adebayo played for them instead of Nigeria and he has a successful international career... Stop assuming that playing for an African team would devalue a player...
You made that assumption not me.
But you didn't answer the very simple question, l repeat, " What is a successful international football career ❓ "
Danielnino00: So u would chose to reject the offer from employer A even when your chance of staying longer with them is much higher than with employer B?
It's not just about employer A or employer B.
But the quality of each employer in terms of benefits, value and further career progression.
So which would you prefer 5 years with TOTAL as an expatriate staff or 20 years with Oando.
I have said before that the league you play in is not a conclusive deduction of the quality of the club and or the players.
Ajax is in a league the Eredivisie which is rated much lower than the Turkish league. But in reality can any team in Turkey stand with Ajax we can go further can any team in the Portuguese league stand with Ajax currently.
I say this because there has been a lot of derogatory comments and degradation of the Scottish league. However, l feel that it has be taken in context.
Last week Celtic were able to beat Lazio and Rangers beat Porto. Statistically speaking that should really be impossible.
So if a player is doing well consistently standing out with top class performances. It should tell us something about quality. Aribo has proven that beyond all doubt.
Danielnino00: Spain don't want him.. they just want to block his chance of playing for Mali..
Is it not the same Adama Traore we know? His goal against city was the first time he would score in the league in nearly a year.. Somebody that dribbles with no end product! ..
He hasn't even done half of what Munir El Haddai did with Barca .. Where is Munir today?
Agreed Spain are far ahead of Mali, but if he wants to have a successful international career,Spain isn't the country for him...
That's a very subjective approach.
First of all what is a successful international football career❓
Which would you rather have 10 caps for Spain or 20 with Mali. Is success by numbers of games or game impact.
For instance having 20 caps for Brazil is it the same value as 50 for Guinea Bissau.
As you can see a deduction on what international football success, is far from simplistic.
