Raziii: Seeing so many comments here makes me feel sorry for Nigeria. We really deserve the kind of leaders we have had since 1999. Abike is Buhari's SSA on diaspora. What's so hard in saying I can assure you the govt is working really hard to allay your fears sir, bla bla bla... If she was campaigning, would she have answered him that way? Arrogance everywhere and some of you are shamelessly defending them. My brother, you couldn't have said it any better |

If we're all truthful to ourselves we will agree that Nigeria has become frustrating and unbearable for over 60% of the population. It is only natural for one to speak up about the ills of the society.
It was Abike Dabiri's role to reassure Nigerians in Diaspora that things can get better not try to do a clapback cos I didn't see where the dude was being rude. |

WeNigerDelta: Here we go again. People who have no idea about Delta state will be the first to comment. Let me start with the apc e rats. Every governor from 1999-2007 was corrupt and a big thief. If any other governor should have the rug pulled from under them, it will be the exact same thing. You guys called on one of your biggest thieves "jagaban" to help sanitize the country. This same thief recognized the our thief (Odidigbodigbo's) boy (Ayiri) and dragged him to the apc fold. If you're dining with Ayiri, you're dining with our thief. Until you prosecute his sources of wealth and disavow him, rejecting his support, you're just as bad as him. Like they say real recognizes real or should I say thief recognizes thief. Now to my fellow Naija deltans. Now you see how it sucks when your brother/neighbor takes advantage of the fact they are closer to those in power to oppress you. Please all of you shouting betrayal, where were you during EPZ matter? When amnesty money was shared mostly to those closer to power nkor? Or was is not the same our brother that let his own brother, our Odidigbodigbo to hang. Or was Jonathan a better governor than Ibori. In short I challenge all those calling him the biggest thief in the world to bring the record of their governor from 1999-2007 let us compare. There is a reason this man is just below god status in Delta. He did his crime and unlike most others have done is time. If he comes back repentant and wants to help build Delta. Then all you holier than thou should let the man be... To Deltans, it's only the person that wears a shoe that knows where exactly it hurts..We say Ibori thief, we got EEU we cry and still wish for Ibori's days again. Now Okowa, I go still leave am on pending but the signs are not good at all.... Edo people cry say Lucky na big omilla, them jump to "go and die" governor. Please leave our thief that has done his time alone. You should be clamoring for the prosecutions of your own thieves that still walk around like Lords.. You couldn't have said it any better. Thumbs Up! It hurts me greatly that People who know nothing about Delta state politics will still come here to say trash. PS: All ye trash typers, leave our Delta State Politics for us and face yours |

OKorowanta: If u neva visited or lived in delta state during his reign, then u know nothing about his leadership qualities. Beta governor naim u dey see for there so. Forget who was made a scapegoat from d lots.it happens You are a wiseman! Tell them The problem with Nigeria today is that a lot of people sit down in their houses to write what they know nothing of. It is not a crime to 'not comment'. They go on to make statements they cannot reference. If you know Ibori, you know Ibori |

Going by your logic. I can boldly tell you that there is no government official free from corruption. If the law had its way everyone of them would rot in jail. The only reason Ibori went through all of these travails is because some people in power felt threatened by his presence and his political credentials so they thought to give him away. Let me also remind you of the case by the US against Sen Buruji Kashamu. Today the man roams free and the case died a natural death because the powers that be did not give him away. People should stop going on about corruption of James Ibori please. If we were to look at performance and work done as a basis for the corruption battle. Trust me 90% of ex governors will rot in jail and James Ibori will not be one of them Quakertellicus1: James may have ''built roads and buildings''...but he is still(was) corrupt.
In Brazil....Luis Inacio Lula da Silva was a very successful and good President. He was also corrupt...and is currently under investigation for it.
James has served his time.But...rushing to accept him? I would advice Deltans to take their time. Leopards do not change their spots. |

Only people from Delta state will understand the legacy this man left behind. badman007: You can't blame them.. Despite the tremendous resources in their community, they didn't see any development whatsoever till he came into power. How dare you call them myopic or backwards when they were only showing appreciation for someone who tried to add some value to their lives?
Mind you, So many people did worse and did NOTHING for their people yet they are celebrated like superstars.. |

franugo: n those people are even more foolish...a corrupt person is what he is, i.e corrupt! no justification whatsoever. so stealing 89% milk from our breast n using 11% to do something useful is worth celerating ni? I understand you would rather have someone steal 100% and do nothing while your community remains backwards. There is not one governor in this country free from corrupt practices in this country. All we ask is to feel the impact of good governance. Have you asked yourself where all the so-called recovered funds from corrupt officials have been kept? |

Nairaland General › Lithuania: Pothole Problem Mocked In Comic Photo Shoot by Kompressor(op): 7:14am On Sep 19, 2014 |
A group of friends fed up with the state of disrepair on Lithuanian roads have banded together in a comic photo project to highlight the pothole problem in the country's second largest city, Kaunas. The series of spoof photographs made for the offbeat Bored Panda blog plays on the idea that potholes are big enough to be mistaken for swimming pools, streams or even lakes. The gallery features people in swimming trunks preparing to dive in to crater-like road cracks, while others are fishing, washing their teeth or romantically gazing at the stars, cuddling each other next to a street puddle. The Z999, which describes itself on Facebook as a "legendary outdoor group", says the aim of the project is "to laugh at the absurdity of this situation" while prompting the government to take action. Road safety is a big issue in Lithuania. In 2013, local media lamented that the country ranked first in the EU for fatal casualties caused by traffic accidents. The rate of 100 victims per one million people is almost double the EU average of 55. Source: http://m.bbc.com/news/blogs-news-from-elsewhere-29224781

all4naija: What did I just read about here? Are these posts coming from sane human beings or what? There is no need of having physical fight over this. Only the primitive people would do that. Almighty United States won't have a physical fight over this. There is away to make them pay dearly for their arrogant and wicked treatment of the 17 years old boy. That is through the law of the land of Nigeria. This case involves two grave crimes. One against an underage and the second one the gravest involved tearing the Nigerian passport by immigration officer. Indeed, tearing the Nigerian passport is enough to have the Egyptian airline suspended from the country for years. That is an abomination to any government. Even a citizen doing that in public is an abomination not to make mentioned of Arab dirty bottom. Jeez! What is going on? I don't know what is wrong with the Nigerian government. This is not about sentiment or being good, this is about stepping on the national government toe and it must be taken seriously, excepting their are Nigerians in high position given this Egyptians power in the country. Believe me, it is time to stop some diplomatic ties with that country.
I have been warning Nigerians about their love for Arab countries in this forum. I have traveled the length and breadth of many Arab countries(middle east and North Africa) and their culture looks down on Africans. The earlier many Nigerians realize that there is need to cut down on going to those countries for tourism, wedding, etc the better for them. I don't think Arab people have anything very wonderful to offer Nigerians. They will give you bread and cut out a pound of flesh from your body. The government of Nigeria should do something.
The Northern elites of Nigeria are to blame for adoring these desert warriors and giving them room to behave as though they are lords. Those who say good thing about Arabs in this forum don't know what they are capable of. The needs to stop relationship with them and concentrate on moving with the west is very necessary. The west understand what is called human rights, even when you are wrong they will take a civilized way to get you to where you belong. I don't understand why people have to continuously compliment Arabs in this forum. Anybody who does that again here should be banned. God bless you |

This is just unfair. If only we had a government that will defend its citizens, if only.... How can you tear someone's passport and sleep comfortably at night?
May God help us!

I hardly ever post comments on here but I can't have someone speak ill of a bank that has been very consistent with top-notch service delivery especially when it comes to ebanking and customer relations. It's quite unfortunate that you experienced those difficulties (for the first time in your banking history with GTB, I believe). That is still not enough for you to want to tarnish the reputation of GTB. I'll like you to kindly modify your topic name, as the above Topic is misleading.
PS: GTB services are not overrated, if you say underrated... I may agree with you.

Severally I had sat down to inquire into the state of our nation and ask where we went wrong and why things are the way they are and I came up with a few answers.
• We are our own problem: Each and every Nigeria has a roll to play in development and sustaining development. Even it a railway station such as the Guangzhou nan is buit, Nigerians will so mess up the place, even b4 you know it criminals will start robbing aboard the trains.
We are complaining of bad roads, even when the government constructs a decent road dual iced road before you know it some unscrupulous elements will dump refuse on the median. Is it sane?
If all Nigerians and Londoners are exchanged you'll find out that fastforward 10 years Nigeria will look like London and London like Nigeria. |
