If JP wins an Oscar for Joker portrayal, he won't be the first or the last actor who has put up memorable performances in the past deserving of an Oscar only to lose out but later won for a lesser acting performance. Leo Di Caprio had over the years been denied of an Oscar before finally getting with an act that wasn't his finest. Denzel Washington had more memorable performances than Training Day that got him an Oscar, but he had to act as a crooked cop in one of his average performances to win an Oscar. So, it's no big deal. It doesn't matter what he was portraying or whether he'd done better in the past, if JP wins Oscar for Joker, nobody will find it ridiculous.

I've seen people win the Oscars with lesser/sketchier roles. At the end of the day, it's more of what you bring to the table as an actor, than the probity of the role.

Heath Ledger got an Oscar portraying the same character. Oscar na Oscar, as long as your performance was worth it, the character you portrayed doesn't matter.

As a true and authentic fan of various works of Joaquin Phoenix,I believe without a shred of doubt, it will be an absolute and utter disgrace if he wins an Oscar for playing a comic book character while he never received thesame recognition for his works in The Master and Her.
Heath Ledgers Oscar was handed to him based on sentimentality due to his death and nothing else.I personally loathe his cartooney portrayal of Joker

I don't know why people keep going on and on about 'emotions' This movie is supposed to be 'live action' and I have tried to imagine my dog smiling, but can't. The fact is animals have a very limited range of facial expressions and I'm pretty sure that's what the producers were trying to convey. Their emotions can be conveyed through their posture and body movement, nuances in the sounds they make and slight alterations in their facial expressions, so expecting live action animals to look like and behave like their hand drawn cartoon counterparts is very unrealistic.

The movie is a depiction of the intrigues and power struggle in the animal kingdom using puppetry and hyperrealistic CGI and they did a very good job. I watched the movie with a very open mind and was thoroughly entertained.

Human beings will always create reasons to justify their dislike for anything or anyone.I have not seen anyone complain about the lack of 'emotions' on the faces of the animals in the 2016 live action remake of Jungle Book

The football authourities in europe are complicit in these fans behaviour.Those guys know they can go to the stadium and carry out such acts and nothing will happen to them.UEFA will fine the Bulgarian FA a couple of thousand euros and partially close the stadium then life will go on.Until black players start ignoring/avoiding UEFA award ceremonies and even competitions,this sort of behaviour won't cease

Joaquin is an actor's actor.It will be an absolute travesty to me if he wins an Oscar by playing a comic book character while not being given the exact recognition for his roles in Her and The master.Anyway he stated a couple of years ago that he doesnt care about awards

Tyler Perry movies are not classy! He should emulate film producers/Directors like Spike Lee, Antoine Fuqua , late John Singleton. Am not a fan of his movies at all....no movie buff would be. Before you criticize me , go back and watch Spike Lee's Malcolm X , and Antoine Fuqua Training day and Olympus has fallen.

His movies are always being rightly ridiculed by the mainstream movie critics and moviegoers in the U.S and elsewhere in the world.Tyler Perry studios does not in anyway,shape or form represent quality film making

Phoenix was amazing in The Master which got him an Oscar nomination. He was superb in Her too. Not everyone is ignorant of him

He really was amazing in The Master but the movie is a slogfest though I am a fan of its director Paul Thomas Anderson who also directed the confusing Inherent Vice another movie 'wakin' starred in.Her is my best movie of his.Though I also like Walk the Line and You Were Never Really Here-a movie 2x more violent than the Joker will ever be.

The Benedict Cumberbatch in Sherlock homes is the same in every other movie. The only reason why he seem different in doctor strange is the hair cut and custom.. But mannerisms and facial expressions still the same.

Benedict Cumberbatch is a superb actor.Go and watch the Showtime 5 part mini-series PATRICK MELROSE in which he played the titular character

That is a bold-faced lie. South African house has its own flavour & that's a facts! Why do you think our house DJs are so popular overseas? It may not be popular in your part of the world but it is popular in other countries & is distinctly known as South African house by those that can tell the difference. So yes, South African house is also its own brand with its own sub-genres. If you don't know, you better ask somebody!

You see this issue of complex is mainly found with Ghanaians, South Africans and lately Kenyans.
They see how our music, movies, comedies naturally dominate their airwaves without a single effort from Nigerians in promoting our works abroad. Most of their shows are dominated by Nigerian artistes.
Go to YouTube and read comments under our entertainment videos, they're mostly from foreigners from all over the world including South Africans.
Every African I meet outside Nigeria likes to talk about our different celebrities the moment they realise I'm Nigerian.

The problem with some Ghanaians, South Africans and Kenyans is that they have a false sense of entitlement and think they should be equal partners. That's why they get jealous and start making demands online for "equal opportunities", while Nigerians are busy working hard and grinding in the studio to make good contents that'll make them successful.

As for titles, I have no interest in them.
