Omoapena: I'm already making another move, I can't waste 30l of fuel which cost about 15k and can't boost of making 15k from it...
That 30l which cost 5500 before will gross me 30kminimum without surge and after commission, I will have 17k net for myself to take home but if same 30l now which will cost me 15k is just giving me gross earnings of 35k without surge, after commission and expenses, I will have just 11k to take home, then it doesn't worth it...
Your income should be more than expense and not spending 15k fuel to get 11k at the end of the day couple with the stress you must have gone through for that day....
I have only bought 12k worth of fuel since the increment and I'm keeping my fuel till I get a worthy trip....
Bolt % remain fixed but our earnings go down so where is the sense in it... Why not try indrive BUT be very selective. There are some decent trips in selected areas on indrive. |

pope191: OK. .. thanks, I've been able to pick the things I need. Obviously it will be hard for anyone living around Berger to keep up. Going to pick a trip at Magodo is a trip on it own, if you get stuck in the berger morning traffic is called this too shall pass. Why not use bolt for your 1st trip out of berger by setting destination, then start picking quality rides thereafter. |

northbird: In the immediate, this is the only solution. Park the car and observe. For those on hp and rentals, it still boils down to the reality people tend to avoid ..
You are in a racket that if you miss work for just 5 days, you are going to feel the full impact on your income. That's why you still see a lot of drivers working. They can't miss work for 3 days. it's doom for them.
If 488/l remains and no significant fare change, this is the end of ehailing for me. The challenge is that those app companies work strictly with data and NOT the few messages drivers are sending to them to consider their plight. As long as guys continue working, to them it's business as usual and those sending messages are the lazy ones. I was in island on Tuesday when the surge was high 2.x. Riders ran to indrive, unfortunately nobody to pick. I stayed on bolt using side eye to observe indrive. One had to request on bolt when nobody was picking. In summary, don't be at the mercy of anybody whether individual or company. Get to the point where you can have options in your endeavor. I remembered happily resigning 2 months into a job some years back when the owner was giving me unreasonable targets. |

ReadaDream: Bro I remember we have discussed this here before, and my opinion was that taking a trip on Indriver/Rida shouldn't be placed solely on time to complete the trip. The distance to be covered has to be factored in too. For me it's even the first thing I consider then duration (time).
Before 488, it has always been 5k at least for 1hr with maximum distance of 30km. Early morning, you can do Sangotedo to Airport in 1hr, that's a 55km+ trip. Would you jump on that for 6k even at 185/ltr? Not to talk of now at 488/ltr.
My average price for VI from Sangotedo is 4200 if road is free, with traffic it's from 6k. Right now until I work with the new pump price, I can't say this is the ideal price in order not to run at loss.
I just got 15k worth of fuel this evening, I'll work with that tomorrow and see how far. I think one can intermittently pad the trips with bolt when you are in surge area. It can't be entirely indrive |

Lekki guys married indrive yesterday because bolt wanted to kill them with 2.5 surge. The tomato over ripe yesterday on the island. Me self stay put on bolt. Let me see whether you will not go home. With the traffic in lekki yesterday, they were offering 4000 on indrive. Come see cancellation on bolt. Thank God my driver score did not shake. Abeg pearl1910 how do you manage stops on bolt? That thing is very annoying. You won't even know until you start the trip.

Gentlelife50: It was past 10 and I noticed there was surge on bolt but no driver available, imagine bolt not having driver available at such a busy place. Obviously drivers are switching to indriver with great speed Indrive is a life/car saver for now and I wish they sustain the tempo. I got a request on bolt from inside inside agbado. The rider called and I bluntly told him the distance is too far. He quickly begged me to come but I should wait at the main junction. He will come and meet me there. Now you are talking! I really pity bolt with their strong head, they will end up like Uber. |

northbird: Most filling stations still have old stock. Even if it was announced in acceptance speech, there's still going to be an official memo from NNPC on the issue. Cos if subsidy has been removed, what's now the new price.? Nobody knows ,everyone is just speculating. I bought 7.5k worth of fuel yesterday @ mobil alausa. Didn't go out today. Can't waste precious fuel on stupid bolt fares. Same here. Didn't bother going out. |

Thank God for indrive. Their platform is both driver and rider friendly. With it you can avoid so many places to prevent car damages and to top it, they have riders. I was in ICM on Saturday with bolt and indrive on. I counted more than 4 requests coming from ICM on indrive while my Bolt was still waiting for order. |

If someone comes here to say Uber is not profitable, it's the person's experience which should be respected and if otherwise, it should also be respected. It is left for newbies to make informed decisions from the 2 sides. I remembered babadee on this thread saying it took a rider to convince him to quit the Uber hustle. That was his experience. If you get counsel here as a newbie and it doesn't work as expected, you can re-strategize. Don't deceive yourself is the key thing. |

MoonlightDrive: I thought it was a glitch on my app.... Bolt did not even inform us that they were removing this feature, so we can no longer stop new requests from coming in unless you set the destination feature.
Another worrying issue is this bolt branding of a thing, I saw for the first time, a Nissan branded bolt car at Anthony... I hope Bolt considers the security risk, especially driving such branded cars like Corolla Camry at Night....
From do 9 trips to get 4k, now to do 11 trips to get 2k I guess they expect us all to now be chopping boiled eggs... waiting for Bolt recommended list of energy drinks. The truth is most multinational companies tend to shift their standards in Nigeria because of our lawlessness. Once they are assured of zero litigation by fellow Nigerians, they show their true color |

pope191: Bros let me be honest with you. No where deh easy, nah brain gain. How many Nigerian have you seen this year taking the UK route like last year. Most are trapped there, regretting that move. As some will scale thro and some won't. If you have people there, they will tell you to stay here if things are working for you. No sense selling your valuables or properties for a zone you barely know nothing about.
Success is more of a personal thing. If you like sell sand or water. Do coding or coded. Have you not seen lawyers, doctor or engineer begging to survive. Same football Okocha and Kanu play is it not the same Opabunmi, Ebiede and co played? Not putting them down or using situation to mock them. May God protect us. Feli just face your hustle biko, it is honestly wrong the way you attack folks this afternoon. No matter the message you want to send, the delivery was so poor.
I think I have been able to make you see I am not just sitting on driving. Anytime I lace my boot, I still won't beat the hustle down, it was a life saver at some point and I respect that. This was the reason I called for diplomacy in his write ups. I guess the message met your other side. It's well boss. |

Felicity001: Some years ago you discussed about coding and all that. Don't tell me you have totally left that profitable venture and have been chasing instant peanuts that will not build you a good future and lifestyle.
Most Uber drivers have been shadowed with the poor thinking mindset. Let me just do this and not die, feed myself and family, their brains cells have been plated with short time goal, so they just want to survive for the now and careless about tomorrow... A myopic mindset.
Free your self from this myopic and menial earnings and start thinking of a long term goal that will better your life and that of your loves once.
Uber business will only earn you a plate of food but not a bag of food that will last you a life time. Uber earning will destroy your health, social life, family love and most of all distract you from attaining your goals in life because it won't give you time to think straight or see the big picture or any opportunity even if it's right in front of you. All you'll be thinking is how to satisfy your partner so he/she doesn't withdraws his car from you, how to put food in the table for your kids and wife, and how to meet up with your HP and own the car you're currently driving but you easily forget the same car is dying up due to its every day stress and minimal maintenance.
The people that suffers most in this Uber business are the married men with kids and wife to look after. Like have you ever seat down to think that one day accident might just occur? You might list any part of your body if your lucky and if you're not lucky your life? Who will take care of your live once when you're gone? Uber? Or Bolt?
Take time now and start building a small business even if it's a POS or engine Oil or generator oil business. Or spare part business. Get a little shop, container shop, 40-60k buy some fire extinguishers, Nuts, spinner, screw drivers, okada engine oil and all that... This business will kick off with 200-500k. You that have an educative skills, develop more in it, go for more training, webminer, seminars and workshops. Meet people of like mind and build on your career do this vigorously for 1-3yrs I assure you will feel irritated like I do each time I come here reading comments because the comments are annoying.
Uber work no be arm oooh... The other day I asked how these of our old grandpas here ...lol... Do it and some of them say... Grace. My brother no be grace ooh... Your mentality has been washed to believe ehailing is the best thing after slice bread.
I looked at my daughter one day and I thought, so this girl I gave birth to in 2020 now get to 8yrs and her mates in school ask her what does your dad does for a living she will say what? My daddy is an Uber driver? God forbid. Na that day I started dropping the job.
Thank God for thief in January 1st that stole my phone, he also contributed in cementing my decision. Food for thought! Kindly be diplomatic in your write ups so that people will warmly digest it rather than feel attacked. |

obinoral1179: first of all make used of your gmap and don't be ashamed to ask your rider for directions....
1 Don't park by the road sides. 2 if you are turning left on any junctions with a traffic light always stay on the lane you're turning to, don't allow rider to control your driving... 3 be wary of Brt lane why existing Maryland towards ojota(odo iya alaro) goin and coming.
4 stick to the area you are used to for now no matter where bolt push you too...
5 pray and becareful.
6 always Central lock your car... Even when you mistake....
7 if you make mistake don't turn back keep going no Matter the distance to rectify.. Thanks boss! |
