uvalued: Greetings, I dont know whether this is the correct section to post my questions but mod can move it to where it will answered proper.
I had this LG 1.5hp air condition system fixed. Lately i have put it to work and i realize that the AC cannot be powered with 230v current. Looking at the image below, you would observe that the output of the 5000w stabilizer is 230v but at times it fluctuate between 220 - 230v.
what can i do to keep the voltage stabilized at say 230v and for the AC to work appropriately.
Juliusmalema2: It is both a step up and a step down transformer depending on where u used as ur input. In ur case, ur supply from ur transformer is about 50v, plug the side of the step up/down labelled 110v to ur wall, the other side labelled 220v become ur output which would be like double of the 50v from the input side. If u want to use it as step down, plug the 220v to ur wall. Look at the pack, u will see it boldly written step up/down. U know those guys selling just call it a step down transformer.
Juliusmalema2: 5000 volts? No. Most stabilizers have minimum voltage of 80 volts, what this means is that even if the voltage drops to 80 volts ur stabilizer should output 220 volts. But below this threshold, that is 80 volts, ur stabilizer will not work well. So in summary ur stabilizer is a device that helps to maintain ur output voltage at 220 volts. 5000va(or watts) is the power capacity, that is the total power of the equipment u plug to it shouldn't exceed 5000 Watts.
petitmonde: that is if your are using 1.5HP machine. For how long are you gonna be having sleepless night just to get water. If you happened not to be around and someone else put on the machine with fluctuating light, the coil could get damaged.
If you can, please do this. If 0.75hp go work well sef, get am.
InfoGuru118: According to the release, Tegbe, who is also a fellow of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, is tasked with submitting a strategic action plan.
This plan will focus on maximizing the benefits of the agreements reached between Nigeria and China during the visit to Beijing.
“As the leader of the strategic partnership, he will oversee day-to-day operations, engage continuously with Chinese counterparts, and ensure all deliverables are aligned with national development goals.
“In the strategic plan, he will outline specific deliverables, timelines, and key performance indicators for each area of cooperation, including priority projects, projected investments, and expected socioeconomic outcomes.”
At the 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, President Xi Jinping pledged 360 billion yuan (approximately $51 billion) in new financing for African nations over the next three years. He also committed to supporting 30 infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing connectivity across the continent and creating one million jobs.
The statement continued, “During his official visit before FOCAC, President Tinubu secured a commitment from President Xi to support Nigeria’s economic diversification, infrastructure development, technology transfer, and job creation. Among the agreements, Nigeria and China will collaborate on expanding Nigeria’s rail network, upgrading power distribution, and creating new industrial parks.”
The two countries also agreed to establish hospital alliances, collaborate on medical research, and deploy Chinese healthcare professionals to strengthen Nigeria’s healthcare system.
In education, the partnership will focus on vocational training, STEM education, and academic exchanges, with joint initiatives to establish engineering technology academies and provide scholarships for Nigerian youth to acquire modern workforce skills.
Additionally, the partnership aims to improve Nigeria’s agricultural practices through knowledge sharing, technology transfer, and investment in sustainable farming techniques.
Tegbe, 58, brings nearly 35 years of experience in business strategy. He was the Senior Partner and Head of Advisory Services at KPMG in Africa, with responsibilities extending to the Middle East.
He also led subnational governments, including Oyo, Ekiti, Ondo, Benue, and Bayelsa, on investment missions to countries such as South Africa, Denmark, China, India, Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates.
adamusuleiman3: Brazilian ‘baecation’ with Nigerian lover turns ugly. Namibian drug mule’s fate from hell The former nightclub waitress and mother of one could face as many as 25 years in South African jail if convicted.
Pauline Mbangula, a Namibian woman arrested in South Africa on Sunday after airport X-ray screening allegedly detected drugs in her stomach, was apparently on a Brazilian ‘baecation’ with her Nigerian lover, who convinced her to smuggle the drugs by swallowing them.
South African Police Service (SAPS) national spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe told Namibian Sun that by noon yesterday, Mbangula had expelled 68 bullets of suspected cocaine.
“She will be taken to hospital to check if all those bullets are out. She is being closely monitored, and has not been detained at the cells because she needs to release all those drugs from her system,” Mathe said at the time.
Mbangula (30) allegedly took a flight from Luanda to Brazil with her Nigerian lover, who told her they were going on vacation in the South American country.
“Mbangula travelled to Brazil under the pretence of going on vacation with her so-called boyfriend. Upon arrival, he convinced her to ingest drugs, and upon returning to South Africa, she was supposed to meet someone - still unknown to the police - who would walk her through [the checkpoints],” Mashadi Selepe, also a SAPS spokesperson, told Namibian national broadcaster NBC yesterday.
‘Part of a larger syndicate’ Mbangula was arrested on Sunday morning at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg for smuggling 68 confirmed drug pellets. Acting on a tip-off, SAPS, along with the South African Revenue Service (SARS) and immigration officials, were alerted to a drug mule arriving from São Paulo, Brazil, at approximately 07:25 on 22 September.
Selepe further confirmed that following her arrest, she was taken to a local hospital, where medical X-rays confirmed the presence of foreign objects in her stomach.
She yesterday described Mbangula as having a "fragile demeanour and looking vulnerable", based on observations.
"She seems to be part of a larger syndicate,” Selepe added.
In an update late yesterday, Mathe said: “Another medical examination/X-ray has confirmed that all drugs have been removed from the Namibian drug mule’s body. [She] has released 68 drug bullets from her body. The estimated weight of the drugs is 850 grams".
She added: “She has been moved to a detention facility and is expected to appear in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 25 September, on a charge of dealing in drugs and drug possession. Additional charges may be added at a later stage”.
SAPS said the value of the drugs must still be determined.
Not a criminal’s playground General Fannie Masemola, National Commissioner of SAPS, commended the multidisciplinary teams’ vigilance in combatting crime at OR Tambo. "Our men and women in blue are hard at work intercepting hardened criminals. South Africa is not a playground for criminals, and we are squeezing the space for transnational organised crime," he stated.
International drug trafficking intercepted in South Africa could lead to imprisonment of up to 25 years.
According to research, this dangerous trafficking method involves ingesting tightly wrapped drug packages, often covered in latex or plastic, which are stored in the stomach or intestines to avoid detection during travel. However, this practice poses significant health risks. Any rupture or leakage can result in severe complications or even death due to drug toxicity.
In 2006, Namibian woman Darlin da Silva Paiva, who was allegedly used as a drug mule, died after pellets of cocaine burst in her stomach, triggering a deadly chemical reaction. She was carrying 31 pellets of cocaine with a street value of N$205 000. Her husband, Bruno da Silva Paiva, was found with 13 pellets in his stomach, and was arrested in connection with the crime.
Who is Pauline Mbangula? Born in Grootfontein in 1994, Mbangula lived in Walvis Bay for many years. For quite some time, she worked at a popular Klein Windhoek nightspot as a waitress.
However, earlier this year, the mother of one migrated to the north, where she stayed for some months before returning to Windhoek, where she allegedly found the going tough.
folake4u: I want to celebrate the incoming birthday with y'all.
Hahaha 😂 I have been told severally.
Blow the tenor sax when the day comes so we can demolish all the "orisirisi" you have in store.
I see how important birthdays are to you females because you are very social, but to us men, we just see birthdays like any other day. Left to me, I wouldn't even bother about it. Although I'm a fun-loving man. It's just the logistics of prepping for such annual celebratory rituals that I find repelling.
Oh yessss! I'm enjoying my weekend and looking forward to Oct 1st. This is my birthday week and should be declared a National holiday.
Lol both applies here, although one is stronger than the other. Let's leave it that way.
That's brilliant.
Oh, how nice. When you become a national asset, we just might declare your DOB a national holiday. How old are you gonna be this week? "62?" "72?" "82?" "92?" Decode... Don't tell me women are not supposed to tell.
Both applies. "One is STRONGER than the other." See the coded lingo Folake used to dodge the Q&A. Lol
BeeBeeOoh: David Umahi, minister of works, says the first phase of the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway project will be completed on May 29, 2025.
Speaking on Thursday in Abuja during an inter-ministerial press briefing as part of activities to mark Nigeria’s 64th independence anniversary, the minister said after the project is completed, it will be tolled for five to 10 years to recover construction costs.
The construction of the highway began in March. The first phase of the project, made up of 47.47 kilometres of dual carriageway, was awarded to Hitech Construction Company Ltd.
“We started the coastal highway, 700 kilometers that is traversing Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Edo, Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Cross River states,” Umahi said.
“People did not understand the merits of this project. People did not see this project as an investment. And so today, the first section is going to be completed by May 29 and we’re going to toll it, and we’re going to get back our money within five to 10 years.”
According to the minister, the federal government is planning to implement additional initiatives, including developing land along the corridor for tourism, factories, and housing, as part of efforts to further enhance returns on the project.
“We also acquired a number of land within the corridor, because we’ve seen that tolling of roads alone is not just going to give you return on investment immediately,” Umahi said.
“So, along these corridors, we are acquiring land where we use for tourism, where we use for factories, where we use for housing and so on and so forth.”
Umahi also said the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway is designed to relieve the strain on Apapa Wharf.
“This has long faced challenges due to its shallow berths that limit cargo handling capacity. These constraints have necessitated the costly process of transloading, where goods are shifted between vessels, resulting in significant daily financial losses for Nigeria,” he said.
The minister further said the importance of the seven axle road under construction is to facilitate the seamless transportation of goods from the Dangote refinery, fertiliser plant, and other major industries within the Lekki free trade zone.
“This critical infrastructure will connect to the Sagamu-Benin Expressway, ensuring smoother logistics and supply chains across key regions, including the north, south-west, south-south, and south-east,” the minister said.
Umahi added that the project is set to tap into the renewable energy potential along the coastal corridor, with plans to harness wind energy for future development.
folake4u: Ahhhhhh! I was strolling by this thread and didn't want to comment until I saw someone defaming Gen Z yet again, I was forced to correct that wrong impression.
Yeah. The ones I know who use it affirm it's for complementary purpose.
But even the ones using it absolutely, it's their choice nau. They didn't kill anybody though.
Aha Flakky, you were STROLLING by the thread. You and your choice of words... lol
I hope you're enjoying your weekend so far leading right up to the October 1 holiday when you will have the time to further hug you pillows and sleep off till after 12 noon.
By the way, you have a new Edo Governor-elect. Am I correct to say that state is where you hail from or are you just resident there?
tunjilana: Person go school study law, practising as an entertainment lawyer with a Masters degree...
Yet you ask her who she be...no be popularity be everything o. People wey really get things in their head no even get time to set ring light.
He should have stopped his analysis at playing the audio, not making insinuations that Femi Falana wanted to help disrupt justice or comment about Falz sexuality, especially when the recording isnt coming from the oarties directly...A smart person would have simply stopped his analysis with Bobrisky, who owned the audio...and wait for investogations to point to Falz and his father..Na the role of education be that.
Succinctly stated.
That young dude named VDM was simply ranting and making direct verbal threats towards Folakemi in this video that I just watched. He was even bragging about being an Edo person which sounded very lame to me.
He'll indeed be used as a scapegoat and learn the very hard way when the law is put to the test.
Still on Bobrisky’s saga, the matter seems to be so intense as outrage continues between falz’s sister and verydarkman. This morning Very Dark Man tell Falz’s sister that she will be nothing Without her father in a video . Eyes of Lagos reports,
Without your father who are you? - Very Dark Man asks Falz’s sister
NOETHNICITY: Mumu, Akoko Edo border Yoruba communities. So it makes sense that they understand one another. Benin and other tribes are different The Benins have prove that shows it’s history outdates the origin of Yoruba Besides, Yorubas have historically failed to show the origin of oduduwa
Let me come into your convo here to add some clarity to it.
You are NOT well informed about the bolded above.
Oduduwa is ORIGINALLY from a hilly abode called Oke Ora in Osun State just 8 miles away from Ile Ife. It was from there that he came to what is now Ile Ife where he met other people that had existed there for centuries and the direct ancestors of the current Oba or Olugbo of Ugbo Kingdom in the oil and gas-rich Ilajeland, were the ones living in Ife but to avoid bloodshed, Ifa was consulted and they were given instructions to move to another location. Historically, the family compounds of the Olugbo of Ugbo is still in Ife and this is an open secret. (Ile Ife means "This land is wide" in English. Ufe is the correct dialectic pronunciation and spelling of the Ife people). This is why whenever a new Oba or Ooni of Ife (Ufe) is about to be crowned, he has to go to Oke Ora as part of the coronation rites and this has gone on for centuries now.
Also, when it is stated in Yoruba and Ife cosmology that Oduduwa is the "progenitor", it simply refers METAPHORICALLY to the BEGINNING of a new ruling Dynasty and NOT that Oduduwa is the forebear of all Yoruba people. Anyhow, the Oduduwa lineage and other lineages have all intermarried, so, that division is no more apparent. About 3 years ago, the current Ooni of Ife, Oba Eniitan Ogunwusi granted a newspaper interview and confirmed what has always been known that the Oduduwa Dynasty is the 3rd ruling Dynasty in Ile Ife, emphasizing the existence of other traditional rulers or Kings in Ife history going back to centuries before Oduduwa came from Oke Ora just 8 miles away from Ife.
The elementary Nigerian social studies school curriculum from back in the day is responsible for the misleading oversimplification of the history of Oduduwa in Yoruba history by giving the false impression that he was the source of all Yoruba people, but this is FALSE and even in Ife, this FACTS are well known.
With reference to Benin history, the current Oba of Benin acknowledged in his official coronation speech that the first ever Oba of Benin is Oranmiyan (who in Yoruba and Ife history is Oduduwa's grandson NOT son like recent Benin tradition is portraying). That coronation speech and coronation videos of the Oba of Benin are still online via a simple Google search.
It's well known that the settlement of USEN (Ife Kekere) in Ovia West of Edo State was founded centuries back by Oranmiyan's older brother and it was from USEN that Oranmiyan left on his way to Igodomudo and became the ruler there but he did NOT stay too long. He had a son (Eweka) from the daughter of a noble man from Egor. Eweka eventually became the second Oba of Benin according to the coronation speech of the current Oba Ewuare 11. Even the Ogiamien family in Edo have also CLEARLY stated that the Oba of Benin's paternal lineage is of Yoruba origins from 900 years ago. Oranmiyan then returned home to Yorubaland and established the Oyo Kingdom which later evolved into the mighty Oyo Empire which gained it's ascendancy through a strong fighting force consisting of a strong cavalry with imported horses from the Savanna region.
The aristocrats and rulership of USEN in Ovia LGA of Edo State (which has an Oba who is known as the Elawure of USEN) also CLEARLY state that they are of Ile Ife origins. They are bilingual and speak their dialect of Yoruba and speak the Bini-Edo language and they greet one another by saying "Delauhe" OR "How is Uhe" (Uhe means Ife or Ufe). So, it must be emphasized here that it is the paternal lineage of the Benin Royal lineage that is directly of Ile Ife origins, BUT the maternal lineage is of indigenous origins from the Igodomigodo era before the Oranmiyan Dynasty started in Benin 900 years ago.
folake4u: Are you in the 90s or something? There are men buying dîldós/vibrators for their partners to spice up their sexual life. Dey play! Go outside and touch grass!
And using the word "simp" doesn't make sense here. Abeg swerve!
DJ Folake4u, my first intuition on seeing this headline on the NL Frontpage is that you would make a "fierce" presence here. I can CLEARLY see your strong digital footprints and advocacy on this thread. *Smirk*
Nice one though as long as it's use is not absolute but complementary... "All objections overuled."
Far from being a novelty dreamed up by the Western mind, dildos have a rich history spanning centuries.
In 2005, German scientists uncovered what The Register described as “one of the world’s oldest sculpted phalluses, measuring 20cm and meticulously crafted from polished siltstone about 28,000 years ago.”
Egyptian paintings from 3,000 BCE also showed women wearing large phallic objects around their waists to pay tribute to Osiris, a major Egyptian god.
The ancient Greeks – the architects of Western civilisation – also made stuffed dildos out of leather, which men often gifted to their wives when they left to go to war.
During the Renaissance, elite members of society reportedly had dildos custom-made from materials like silver and ivory.
Later in the 17th century, English men who were fearful of how artificial phalluses could pose a threat to their sexual prowess passed some laws that prevented women from making them.
Following England’s steps, America banned the sale of rubber dilators, medical devices that help stretch the vagina, leading to the creation of an underground intimacy gadget market.
It was during the sexual revolution in the 1960s that dildos were, once again, widely accepted as tools for pleasure and sexual liberation.
Right BELOW is a FULL list of 77 Nigerians of Igbo ethnic origin who were indicted and/or arrested in one SINGLE day by the FBI in a major sting operation in the United States for a massive Business Email Compromise (BEC) scam, romance scams and money laundering these criminals committed running into millions of USD. It was around that same period that the international fraudster and criminal called Obinwane Okeke (the so-called Invictus Obi) was arrested by the FBI based on incriminating evidence he had earlier posted right here on Nairaland. So, this is a very serious act of criminality and a wider issue involving some other Nigerian ethnicities most especially the Igbos in the U.S. and other countries as well. This scam case is already being trivialized by some simpletons who posted right above on this thread and started insulting and taunting the Yoruba folks because of the past highly irresponsible behavior of Ramon Abbass (Hushpuppi) and the only alleged Yoruba dude named in the OP's current post on this thread. I had to post these 77 names of the scammers of Igbo origin who were indicted and/or arrested by the FBI in one SINGLE day in the United States, and other international scam and money laundering cases as evidence here to let those 3 ignorant young Igbo posters above realize that their ethnic kinsmen are deeply into this BEC FRAUD and money laundering on a very large scale with many of them in jails already and this should call for sober reflection and NOT gloating and making illiterate, derogatory remarks against others. Remove the log in your eyes. Period.
It's great that Tee Mac (who is of Swiss paternal and Itsekiri maternal parentage) is still doing his thing with his classic flute.
As for the Lijadu Sisters, I liked listening to their easily recognizable tracks entitled "Come on Home" and "Danger" which were monster hits right from the late 1970s into the 1980s. Nostalgic moments from back in the day.
The Lijadu Sisters "Come on Home" (Horizon Unlimited, 1979)
John Chukwu was Nigeria’s most famous comedian in the 1980s. He was a stand-up comedian, had a radio comedy show (Band Wagon Comedy Hour), a TV comedy show (Laff Mattaz), and a night club. He compered many major events in Nigeria, like the first Nigerian Music Awards, which he hosted with Julie Coker. In 1985 President Babangida had to send the presidential jet to pick him up from his home state so that he could MC the Command Performance to mark Nigeria’s 25th anniversary.
John Chukwu fell ill in 1990 and his family reached out to Chief MKO Abiola and President Babangida. MKO contacted a hospital in the UK and arranged for John Chukwu to be treated there. President Babangida also pledged some money towards his treatment. Unfortunately John Chukwu died before he could be flown out of the country.
The JC years.
Indeed, that was also the era of Bala Miller, Art Alade and Bobby Benson, etc, when these folks put in their all as professionals in the entertainment industry.
Slurity: He was even lying to defend himself. He called that "accidentally knocked his head in public." Imagine what he will do in secret.
That's spot on. I like the fact that you saw that BIG LIE too... Claiming it was "accidental" (or a kind of reflex action). That's exactly what I indicated in my post right above when I carefully analyzed the crappy apology video. What he did was child abuse which is an offence. It's a punishable offence in many countries of the world but some simpletons here are under the effect of the Stockholm Syndrome and have placed these folks in the priesthood (and alfas in Quranic madrasas) on a putrefying pedestal to continue the child abuse and the debasing of kids in their care in the name of religion.
It would have been better for him to use a firm verbal reprimand or a light tap of the arm of the altar boy in order to maintain the boy's concentration during the wedding ceremony.
Did I just hear the irresponsible father of that altar boy say in the video that "there is nothing bad in knocking the head" of the Altar boy? That's outright child abuse and this is the reason why it's absolutely illegal and a punishable offence under the Nigerian law for underaged children to be used as house helps or domestic workers. If this had happened in a place such as Lagos State where there are effective child abuse and domestic violence laws, this priest would have been summoned for questioning and appropriate sanctions applied.
Normally, what the so-called Catholic priest did by knocking that boy's head is a punishable offence under the child abuse laws in many countries of the world. The priest was also telling blatant LIES to the Altar boy's parents that the knock was "accidental" and that somebody took a picture and posted it on the Internet. NO, it was the FULL video we all saw NOT a picture and his knuckles flew right into the altar boy's head like a well-aimed projectile.
We have so-called Omoluabis & other Nigerians who have never heard of Western Nigeria Finance Corporation (WNFC) established in 1958. WNFC was responsible for the creation of several notable businesses, including Epe Plywood, Premier Hotels, and the Western Nigeria Development Corporation (WNDC). These ventures contributed to the growth of the region's economy and provided employment opportunities for its residents.
Western Nigeria Development Corporation (WNDC): A holding company that oversaw various subsidiaries and investments. Leith Ross Limited: A textile manufacturing company. Western Nigeria Printing Corporation: A printing and publishing company. Western Nigeria Transport Company: A transportation company. Western Nigeria Flour Mills: A flour milling company. Western Nigeria Investment Company: A holding company for various investments.
These companies played a significant role in the economic development of the Western Region of Nigeria and contributed to the region's industrialization. Odua Investments is a continuation of WNFC. It was created to manage the assets that WNFC had accumulated over the years, and it has continued to play a significant role in the Nigerian economy.
The equivalent of WNFC (Western Nigeria Finance Corporation) in Eastern Nigeria was the Eastern Nigeria Development Corporation (ENDC). Established in 1956, ENDC played a similar role in promoting economic development and investment in the Eastern Region.
Just like WNFC, ENDC was involved in various sectors, including agriculture, industry, and infrastructure. It established companies and supported projects aimed at diversifying the region's economy and improving the livelihoods of its people.
In Northern Nigeria was the Northern Nigerian Development Corporation (NNDC). Established in 1956, NNDC played a similar role in promoting economic development and investment in the Northern Region.
Just like its counterparts in the West and East, NNDC was involved in various sectors, including agriculture, industry, and infrastructure. It established companies and supported projects aimed at diversifying the region's economy and improving the livelihoods of its people.
