CultureRe: The So Called Western Igbos And The Igbos Of The Banks Of The Niger by Konquest: 4:33pm On Oct 12, 2024
IgbuduMonkey:
The controversial topic concerning the "Igbo denial" of some/most of the Delta tribes that speak Igbo dialects has been raging on this forum for as long as I have been a member, which is as long as the forum has existed. I have learnt a lot from members argument here and it has also made me do some deep research into the topic. I will drop in this thread, where I am at now in the debate.

One of the oft used argument by the propounders of the argument that the Delta tribes deny their Igbo ethnicity is that the Nigerian civil war of 1967-1970 and it's outcome led to these tribes denying their igboness as the Igbos lost the war. From this argument one would infer that these tribes identified as Igbos before the war but ceased to do so after the war.
What does the historical evidence reveal?
From oral and documented records, up until the civil war, the Igbo speaking tribes along the Niger did not identify as Igbos. They considered the hinterland to be Igbos and to be different from them. These people included the Onitshas, Ogbarus, Abohs, Asabas etc. There are historical documents to back this. Marrying a hinterland Igbo during these times was close to a taboo around this time. This didn't change until the political events of a new country, Nigeria, that culminated in the civil war led to the unification of the Eastern Igbo speakers on the banks with the hinterland Igbos. The political exigencies of the times and the geographical proximity made it a no brainer for these people to align. However, the history of the dichotomy that existed between these two group of Igbo speakers is evidence that they are of sharply different origins

The first Igbo speaking tribes with monarchical structure are the riverine igbo speakers, the first being the Abohs. The titular appellation Obi, most likely originated at Aboh and from there to Onitsha, as the Aboh stool predates that of Onitsha by many years. The riverine Igbo speakers therefore were politically and culturally different from the hinterlanders. They(riverine group) tended to assimilate people into their fold, including people of slave origin, which was a taboo to the hinterlanders

Language is the big controversy in the argument. How the riverine group came to speak the same language as the hinterland group. Various theories have been put forward including the theory of a back migration which has no historical proof. My own theory is as follows:

The language called Igbo today might have originated along the lower banks of the Niger. The reason for my assertion is that the riverine speakers were the trading force around the region at that time and the language of trade was copied by the hinterlanders who took wares to the riverside to exchange for trade. It is a known fact that the precolonial hinterland Igbos were not long distant traders. The language at the banks became the dominant language for this reason of trade, just like Hausa is spoken in the North.

Oral history

The oral history of major towns around the lower Niger banks records that the ruling class came from Bini. This is difficult to dispute considering that they established monarchies in these places akin to the Bini monarchy with some traditional titles bearing exactly the same names e.g Iyasele meaning prime minister. These migrants came in large numbers with their entire households, friends, servants etc. They settled and in most cases took over political control of the places they settled. Their language changed to the overwhelmingly spoken Igbo over the years as did the population of those places which today are very mixed in terms of their origin. Unlike the hinterland Igbo speakers who are organized into clans with linear heritages, those of the banks are diverse within a clan and sometimes within a family as seen in Aboh

In conclusion, the civil war and the politics around the civil war era united the eastern Igbo speakers to some degree but had little to no effects on the Western Igbo speakers. The Westerners have retained their precolonial identity and are culturally and politically different from those in the Igbo hinterland. Their values sharply differ but their languages are the same- Igbo

they have population of less than 230,000 people. Less than population of a local government in nigeria
Indeed, you are right about that. But then again, an Island country of whatever population size (such as Grenada, Antigua and Barbuda, or Seychelles) is still a sovereign country under the statutes of the United Nations and then, Grenada is a major destination for global tourism in the Caribbean region which fetches a lot of income for them annually. So, Brown African countries such as Nigeria have some lessons to learn on how the multibillion USD tourism industry works in the Caribbean. The ONLY time there could be disruptions to tourism is during the hurricane season.

Grenada is also an international finance and banking hub with an investors visa OR golden visa policy as well.

Last but not least, a few of those smaller Caribbean island countries have recently discovered some offshore oil and gas reserves, while some need the kind of refined petroleum products that Dangote Petrochemical Refinery in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State produces, so, there's big business ahead between the two regional blocs of the Caribbean and let's say Lagos and Nigeria as a whole.

Today, I had the pleasure of welcoming Mr Dickon Mitchell, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Grenada, who was accompanied by Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Chairman/CEO of Dangote Group, on a courtesy visit to Lagos House, Marina.

We discussed potential collaborations that can drive sustainable development and economic growth for both our regions.
Nice to see the young PM of Grenada, Dickon Thomas Mitchell in Lagos State alongside Aliko Dangote. It's important the entire Caribbean region forms strong economic and cultural bonds with Nigeria and most especially the rest of "Brown" Africa South of the Sahara

“WE don’t want aboMyfriend (foreign nationals).”

Residents of Naledi Extension, in Soweto, are up in arms and have embarked on an operation to shut down spaza shops owned by foreign nationals ekasi (in townships).

On Tuesday, 8 October, spaza shop owners (kiosks) were forced to vacate their shops.

This follows the death of five pupils aged six to nine, who died after consuming snacks bought at a local spaza shop on Sunday, 6 October.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bE21nT85XaM?si=9hQdCB0vr_xrfCQP

Operation Dudula (Operation Cleanup) member, Dineo Lebethe, told Daily Sun they feel as if the government has turned a blind eye on what's happening and not helping.

“This is the second time an incident like this has happened. We're here again because five kids have died. We want these people to take their things and go, never to come back to Naledi. We're opposing the issue of undocumented foreign nationals running spaza shops in our country. We don’t benefit anything from this,” Dineo said.

She said undocumented foreign nationals do as they please in Mzansi (South Africa), taking advantage of the country's porous borders.

"South Africa's the only place where undocumented foreigners have rights," she said.

“We're not protected. It's painful that even when kids die, nothing is done. We no longer want these people in our country. Enough is enough.”

A community member told Daily Sun they've been complaining about spaza shop owners selling food that has long expired, for so long.

Operation Dudula members stressed that community members should stand united and stop housing aboMyfriend.

Spaza Shop and Tuck Shop Association Secretary and Head of Business Development, Sbusiso Ngcobo, slammed a lack of compliance, blaming the government for not inspecting and regulating the sector.

Diddy's mom Janice Combs, 84, wears fur jacket and blingy glasses to court after defending rapper
By Terry Zeller For Dailymail.com

Diddy's mom Janice Combs made a bold entrance at her son's sex-trafficking trial on Thursday.

The former model and teacher's assistant, 84, who recently defended Diddy against over 100 sexual misconduct allegations, opted for a daring yet perhaps overly casual ensemble for such a significant occasion at the lower Manhattan courthouse.

She rocked a form-fitting white mini dress, black fishnet stockings, and a tiger-print fur jacket, while holding onto a supporter's arm.

Despite being heckled by critics — one man shouted, 'Janice, your son is a predator and deserves to be locked up' — the matriarch remained composed and unfazed by the commotion.

The embattled rapper's daughters, 17-year-old twins Jessie James and D'Lila Star, arrived shortly before the hearing, accompanied by their older brothers Quincy, 33, Justin, 30, and Christian, 26.

This Sean "Diddy" Combs saga just took the winds out of everyone. I didn't see it coming tbh.

Now, there's a vast array of doctored or FAKE YouTube videos and audios online FALSELY accusing innocent folks such as Kamala Harris and Obama of being part of this saga. These originators of the fake videos have to be taken down and severely punished for misleading the public.

That axis of Anambra State has been a den for kidnappers for many years now.

Even many indigenes of Ihiala and other Ibos living in Abuja, Lagos and other cities have said online and offline that they discretely visit OR have totally avoided going to that Anambra State for fear of being kidnapped or getting killed by the so-called "unknown gun men" who are infact well known to be part of the NOTORIOUSLY violent secessionist groups. The sports journalists should have flown from Lagos State by air to Uyo in Akwa Ibom State instead of traveling by road.

A proper threat assessment of that road travel route WASN'T done by them and now, one of the kidnapped journalists is dead, but gallant security agents rescued the others alive. My deep condolences go to the family of Kola, the gentleman who was killed during the kidnapping of the journalists.

Isn't it ironic?
The same mouth they use in accusing you of sexualizing them just because you complimented their looks, is the same one they use to charge you money to suck your preek.

Women always accuse men of sexualizing them.
But if the truth be told, no one sexualizes a lady more than herself.

It is repulsive and outrightly dehumanizing when women proudly affirm that all they have to offer is their body.

I have seen people's wives, mothers, girlfriends, and your regular next door neighbor shamelessly stream on Bigo and Buzzcat hawking limitless nudity for coins and cash as low as 500naira.

It is not Tinubu,
It is not hardship,
It is not an absence of boundaries,
But it is a generational erosion of self-dignity that has befallen Nigerian women with the popularity of technology.

Where is the pride?
Where is the dignity?
Gone are the days where only the chosen man got to see as little as the strap from a woman's bra.

In those days, adventurous teens like myself had to peep through keyholes and door cracks in bathroom doors to see nakêd women, now any person with a mobile phone gets to see realtime assorted ass and boobs from just flicking through profiles on Buzzcat.

With that said,
I wish her luck, nothing; not inheritance, not a good brain, not a wealth family, not even hardwork has taken Nigerian women farther in life than their kpekus
You were an active "Peeping Tom" as a teenager back in the day? Hmmm... What an insightful confession. *Sarcasm*

This is what the Sahara Reporters, Gazette, Punch, Vanguard and Guardian investigative reporters are supposed to do (including the DSS and NIA). But the father of that girl will DODGE any major media interview like he did in a video that I saw online when a South African female reporter or investigator traced him to his South African house in Summer Greens, Cape Town (after Chidimma's family forgery and IDENTITY THEFT scandal broke out) and respectfully told him that "Mr. Michael Adetshina we would like to speak to you to clarify some issues on the IDENTITY THEFT." This man CLEARLY showed his face in the video while telling the news crew that he was coming back after initially declining to answer any questions, but he NEVER came out again from his house to get interviewed OR answer the questions the female reporter [Ms. Sebe Buthelezi who is the Producer of "Checkpoint"] wanted to ask. I've just found the link to the video and attached the video right BELOW (I first watched it on September 7, 2024) to this NL post. Check out especially how this girl's father dodged the South African media interview in the video time stamp starting from 0:48 to 1:27 mins.

I also just saw the post of another misguided troll FALSELY telling you and others that the FORGED name "Adetshina" is an Itsekiri name of the ex-husband. Itsekiris DON'T have that kind of name and I've NEVER seen or heard them use it. Unknown to this troll, Itsekiris are Yoruboid with direct ancestry and migration from major subgroups in Yorubaland such as the Ilajes, Ijebus, and Ifes. This is why Itsekiri language is mutually intelligible to a great percentage with Yoruba language with numbers 1 to 10 for instance being the same. The first oil fields belonging to Chevron right from the 1960s in the oil and gas-rich Ugborodo (the old foreign name is Escravos) in Itsekiriland are named till today as Okan, Meji, Meta, and Meren oil fields which are clearly Yoruba words meaning One, Two, Three, and Four. There was also an exiled migration on from Benin of Prince Ginuwa with 70 of his lieutenants into an ORIGINAL Ijebu settlement that had Chief Lenuwa as the Ijebu leader called Ode Itsekiri (Prince Ginuwa was the first son of Oba Olua of Benin Kingdom) in the 1480s. The Itsekiris and other Yoruba groups just across the Ogun/Ondo and Delta States border areas understand one another and dialects very well when they communicate.

These obviously MORALLY bankrupt, paid and unpaid online ethnic propagandists and opportunistd also created another 3rd BIG LIE online in order to divert attention by FALSELY claiming that the Mozambican mother is the one bearing that forged name but that FALSE claim was also busted as well after investigations from my South African contacts because NO ethnic group in South Africa or Mozambique bears that name "Adetshina."

It's the same highly DISHONEST characters or people who come online daily raining curses and attacking politicians and others for alleged corruption but they themselves are mentally mired in their own far WORSE forms of corruption and ethnic bigotry right in broad daylight while defending criminality. The hypocrisy is self-evident and stinks. This is why corruption and criminality must NEVER be rewarded in any society because of the negative short and long-term effects.

Enjoy your weekend.

ednut1:
too much inconsistencies in her story
Indeed @ednut1, the inconsistencies were massive an outrightly irritating and insulting to discerning South Africans and Nigerians especially those of Yoruba descent (or folks who can speak Yoruba) who kept on asking questions about the inconsistencies in the letter "T" and "H" in the "Adetshina" surname spelling and her inability to speak any of the indigenous South African languages from Zulu to Sotho which at least a Soweto-born child with an alleged Zulu grandmother should know how to speak. Infact, there is a video of her wedding to a young Ibo guy in South Africa called King Sefo Amama. If you check YT and do some Googling, you'll find more info about this husband of her's. Such a DODGY family history and background.

She did say in a September 2024 Nigerian media interview video that I saw that she is an Ibo, so, that settles the whole issue of her ethnic origins. I was pissed off that the female journalist did NOT probe further as to how she got the Adetshina surname she is using. The Nigerian media must ask her and her father some hard questions because a lot of folks in the comments section of that video interview she had also observed that she was dodging some vital questions the female Nigerian journalist asked her.

To avoid embarrassing situations like this case, intense background checks must be carried on on contestants in all beauty pageants and other notable events just like a real job or political background checks are done. Guy Murray-Bruce was informed about these inconsistencies but he dubiously chose to ignore these red flags and proceeded with the so-called beauty contest which many noted was even below par.

Cheers.

Men of the Ondo state police command have arrested the duo of Ifeanyi Obiefunna, aged 36 years, and Joseph Agwu, aged 43 years, who allegedly specialize in stealing vehicle brain boxes, tapping glasses, and other valuables from people's vehicles, and are part of a complex vehicle theft and vandalization syndicate.

Parading the suspects at the Command headquarters in Akure, the state Commissioner of Police, Abayomi Oladipo, said painstaking effort later led to the arrest of Obinna Uyammadu, aged 32 years, and Onyeka Okoye, aged 38 years, who are also members of the syndicate.

He mentioned that one of the suspects, Joseph Agwu, who lives in Akure, confirmed that he sells second-hand wares, popularly known as Okrika, and serves as the informant to notify other suspects to come to the state to operate and return to Lagos.

Oladipo mentioned that the suspects will be charged to court at the end of the investigation.

[quote author=Lanrelagboi post=132387042]Governor @DapoAbiodunCON with the Hon. Minister of Marine and Blue Economy @GboyegaOyetola at the groundbreaking ceremony of the Gateway Inland Dry Port (GIDP) and the Dry Port City (DPC) happening now at Itori, Ewekoro LGA of Ogun State.

Here are some facts and background that will help you understand the strategic and socio-economic importance of the Gateway Inland Dry Port Project (long read):

1. Ogun State is referred to as the Gateway State for a reason; the geographical location of Ogun State as a veritable link to the North and Eastern regions of the country and to the West Africa sub-region.

2. In 2021, Ogun State began construction of the International Agro-cargo airport.

3. In 2022, Governor Dapo Abiodun flagged off a Special Agro-processing Zone (SPAZ) in a $400m partnership with Africa Development Bank (AfDB) etc.

4. In response to these strategic Agricultural projects, there has been a boom of medium and large scale industries, especially those associated with the agricultural production and processing sector all over Ogun State.

5. The scale of the ongoing industrial activities in the state and the state’s advantageous accessibility then led to the establishment of the FIRST EVER AFRICAN QUALITY ASSURANCE CENTRE in Ogun State by the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank). It’s on a 5 hectare land along Lagos-Ibadan expressway in Sagamu.

6. With all these in place, the Ogun State Strategic Multi Modal Transport Master Plan identified the need for effective logistics and transport infrastructure and services across the state, recognizing that shipping services and movement of goods play an important role in global trade and commerce, the Gateway Inland Dry Port (GIDP) and other strategic transportation infrastructure across the state will provide the needed synergy for rapid economic growth, employment generation and prosperity.

7. Location and Strategic positioning:

The GIDP is to be situated in a new/planned development area to be known as ‘Dry Port City’ (DPC), this area will include mixed developments of residences, logistics infrastructure, complimentary commercial and industrial developments and new multi-modal transportation infrastructure.

The GIDP and Dry Port City (DPC) are key to sustaining Ogun State’s rapid industrial growth, addressing increased urbanization as well as supporting national efforts to ease the congestion at Apapa/Tin Can ports, notorious for traffic bottle necks; and reducing the waiting time for cargo handling and storage experienced by industry.

The GIDP and DPC are strategically positioned at the intersection of the Lagos to Ibadan Standard Gauge Railway and the proposed East-West Railway Corridor connecting Lagos to the east via Kajola.

The site of the GIDP and DPC is also connected to the national highway network being accessible via the Lagos – Abeokuta Highway and the Sagamu to Benin and Sagamu to Lagos Highways via the Papalanto to Sagamu Interchange Road.

The GIDP and DPC development has adopted the state Public-Private Partnership policy as basis for its delivery, operations, maintenance and management.

8. Design:

The design of the GIDP is spread over an area of 499 Hectares for Phase 1 which will be expanded to 100 Ha for the subsequent phases.

The site will be composed of the following essential land uses: Railway Siding Area, Container Freight Station and Container Depot Area, Warehouses and Bonded Warehouses, Mineral Yard, Truck Parking, Specialized Industrial Zone, Supporting Facilities and Utilities, Internal Road Network, Green Areas.

porthouse7:
still a yoruba name regardless, you will have find her father and ask him
Please, get this VERY clear. That spelling is NOT a Yoruba name. It's a PURE FORGERY. "ADESINA" is the correct Yoruba spelling without the letters "T" and "H". Again, a lot of FALSE information was planted online to divert attention with the DODGY claims that this 23-year-old girl's ex-husband is the one that used the obviously forged name "Adetshina" but if she is divorced like she stated in the media from the alleged person, why is she still using the name "Adetshina." No self-respecting person of Yoruba descent would use a name with a spelling like that and all the ADESINA family members in the Diaspora use the same spelling. Infact, her father was known in the SA media and social media as Michael Okechukwu "Adetshina." The Onwe is actually his surname which he is using now. The Mozambican wife also has multiple passports with different names on them based on investigations by SA security agencies. In short, there is a lot of DODGY background surrounding that girl's family life in South Africa.

Since August 2024, the South African authorities had already stripped Chidimma and her family of the South African citizenship because her father and mother were both involved in the 2001 identity theft fraud. Chidimma CANNOT go back to South Africa unless she applies for a South African visa. Indeed, her father was later also indicted in the fraud and forgery case for signing some documents in 2001 while knowing that his so-called Mozambican wife is NOT a South African citizen. The investigations of August 2024 also revealed that Chidimma was NEVER born in the Soweto hospital that she told the SA media and other media she was born in and this girl's father also signed some of the fraudulent documents birth documents knowing full well that his Mozambican wife was NOT a South African citizen! If this Chidimma's alleged maternal grandmother is a Zulu like she told the media, their would have been NO need for Chidimma's Mozambican mother to engage in ID theft of another SA woman in 2001. Her alleged Zulu mother would have simply enabled her to qualify for SA citizenship as well. Another thing that made South Africans to rightly question this girl's citizenship is that she NEITHER spoke Zulu or any of the other 10 recognized languages in South Africa despite claiming she lived with her alleged Zulu grandmother in Soweto.

The South Africans too are NOT blameless in this whole case because some of their corrupt citizens in the DHA were involved in selling South African IDs to illegal foreigners who were CLEARLY NOT qualified for SA citizenship. Out of the 3 SA men who were indicted in August 2024 in that viral official video, 1 of them is already dead.

In reality, I will say that the South African authorities and security agencies were annoyingly very untidy in allowing the accused family members consisting of the Enugu-born husband and his Mozambican wife to just escape one after the other from South Africa without facing justice for their crimes. The South Africans have absolutely NO right now to accuse folks of Nigerian descent either online or offline of condoning fraud by allowing that girl to contest in the so-called beauty pageant and not condemning what this girl and her alleged Mozambican mother and father did by fraudulently acquiring South African ID and citizenship in 2001.

Up to 700,000 people have been detected so far with illegal status in South Africa through this same ID theft or duplicate IDs. The South Africans have recently already upgraded their ID systems to a more robust digital one so it's hoped that these kind of ID theft cases would be eradicated.

Popular native doctor, Akwa Tiwara Aki regains freedom five days after he was abducted.

The herbalist was released on Saturday, as he disclosed in a viral video.

Narrating his abduction experience after his supporters and loved ones flocked to his house, he said on the day of the incident, he received a call from a friend who informed him they were relaxing at his hotel and had spent over N300,000.

He said the friends wanted him present so that he could subsidise their expenses.

Akwa, as he was fondly called by admirers, said he left his house for the hotel. He said he heard gunshots some minutes after he arrived at his hotel.

He said the criminals shot at him when he came out, but the bullets did not penetrate his body. He said that his two security aides were killed.

Akwa said he was forced by the kidnappers into their vehicle and driven away. He said he decided not to resist in order to prevent more loss of lives.

“I joined them to save lives of people in my hotel. I would have disappeared but if I did, it would have triggered more killings. I followed them to save lives,” Akwa said.

He also debunked claims of being abducted because he was owing someone. The native doctor also said that he was not abducted because he did evil to someone.

“I was with my captors hearing news that I was owing some people being the reason I was abducted.

“I am a rich man and if I was owing anybody I was equal to the task to pay the person back his or her money.

“The gunmen told me the reason they came to my hotel but certainly not for me. I only followed them to save lives of my people and customers", he said.

I thought this boy was bragging arrogantly in his IG broadcast that Burna Boy or anybody else CANNOT arrest him. Well he got arrested before the lawyer Deji Adeyanju got him released from jail on bail.

Characters like this must learn to come up with creative contents for their jokes and NOT criminally defame people. There is NOTHING like absolute freedom anywhere. Period.

Isaac Fayose cracked me up with his accent and sarcasm. Lol... cheesy grin

To be honest, there is NO ABSOLUTE freedom anywhere. If you CRIMINALLY defame innocent people like this guy did in the video BELOW (and other crappy YouTubers have done) to the young singer called Burna Boy, thinking they can go scot-free without being sued, then they are jocking!

Burna boy answer me. P-diddy use oil for your nyash? Speed Darlington

He's was just rambling on in that video right above while trying to sound funny.

Release on Bail: Speed Darlington Released by Burna Boy from Arrest

Dayo Adeyanju who is the lawyer that helped in effecting that bail for this guy MUST make it clear to his client the importance of building a repertoire of good joke contents first before coming online so as NOT to CRIMINALLY defame others with crappy jokes. Period.

The female in the video right above is one of those semi-literate YouTubers who go online to talk trash without proper research.

First off, this female YouTuber FALSELY said in the video that Burna Boy "is an Ibo man and Ibos don't shake hands that way," but the young man himself said on multiple occasions in videos that his mother is from Edo State and his father is from the "Ijoid-speaking" area of Rivers in Ahoada. Although the Engeni people of Rivers State (where his father come from have Edoid ancestral roots based off of past migratory patterns from centuries back like some other smaller ethnicities or groups in parts of Rivers and Bayelsa States) and also based on what I have gleaned from well-researched historical work.

The other conspiratory theories she's spinning in that video can get her into problems for outright criminal defamation of character because that alleged audio of Burna and Diddy circulating online and being pushed by some of these illiterate crazy bloggers and YouTubers is obviously FAKE like several other videos circulating online over this Diddy scandal. Period.

Make Edo and Igbo girls calm down. They are always in the spotlight in issues like this. It's not like other tribes are saints but most of the drama about failed runs, celebrity divorces, etc involve these group of ladies. Their quest for easy money is just too much

Throwback:
I remember when she came out to declare she was pregnant for Burna Boy some years ago.

But it was obvious she was just a groupie whose pregnancy could have been for anyone.

I am not surprised that the pregnancy was "lost" after her most significant customer refused to accept responsibility for it.

Girls like this don't get pregnant by mistake, and they do not lose pregnancies by mistake too.

Na the mugu wey go lose guard accept community responsibility as a personal responsibility be their target.

PhonesRe: Man Caught Repackaging Uk-used Iphones As New To Sell In Lagos (Photo) by Konquest: 8:42am On Oct 11, 2024
Gistmedia10:
In a startling revelation, a man was caught on camera repackaging UK-used iPhones as brand new to sell in Lagos. The footage, which has rapidly circulated online, has left many netizens in disbelief. shocked

The video shows the man meticulously using a mini waterproof wrapping machine to cover the used iPhone cartons. Questions are being raised about the source of these phone cartons, leading many to speculate about the extent of this fraudulent practice.

Reactions from social media users have been swift and critical. One commenter stated, "This is how they'll repackage UK used phones and sell them at exorbitant prices." Another chimed in with shock, saying, "The day I was told that I could buy a brand new iPhone that is not actually brand new in Ikeja, I was shocked." shocked

Adding to the discourse, a third user remarked, "I tell people that 60% of so-called new iPhones are refurbished. But what do I know?"

Is this business-wise or an act of criminality? shocked

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E5vwAxefLvA
No doubt, there's a dark global market out there in repackaged fake products or repackaging of gadgets and items that do NOT meet the stated specifications in online ads.

A quick scan of this video exposes one thing. There's NO CLEAR evidence that this video of a so-called repackaged iPhone is from a person using a portable sealing machine in Lagos State. There is even NO evidence that iPhones are in those cartons. These are the things that discerning viewers want to see NOT crappy online speculations.

These YouTubers and crappy bloggers from Nigeria have to STOP spreading falsehoods online to manipulate gullible or impressionable viewers because they want to go viral out of desperation to make money. I ONLY commented here to call you unprofessional YouTubers out. Period.
Christianity EtcRe: Why I Prefer Orisa Worship To Christianity, Islam — Wole Soyinka by Konquest:
God1000:
Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka says he prefers traditional Orisa worshipping to Christianity and Islam because it fascinated him more.

Soyinka said this in an interview with CNN’s Larry Madowo, where he further explained that the depth of faith in Islam and Christianity doesn’t match that of Orisa worshipping for him.

According to him, Orisa worshipping eschews violence and is more creative.

“I was fortunate to be born in two worlds – the Christian world and traditional Orisa worshippers.

“My grandfather, until he – poor man – also got converted, was an Orisa person and a chief, and his (grandfather’s) side (of Orisa) fascinated me a lot more.

“For me, it (Orisa worshipping) was more artistic, creative, and also more mysterious. I don’t find much of the mysterious in Christianity and even less in Islam. And that is for a simple reason that I didn’t grow up in a Muslim environment.

“Orisa is open, and very ecumenical and that is why these foreign religions were able to penetrate it and even distort the truth. Because of the generosity of this spirit (Orisa), it is not violent. It is one of those African religions which eschew violence.

“I don’t believe in the Islamic or Christian God and, for the adherents of these religions, if that makes me an atheist, so I say, I am an atheist.

“I insisted that all human beings have a certain spiritual core in their being. I believe myself to be a more spirit-sensitive person,” Wole Soyinka said.

I laugh as the ignorant responses of some uninformed posters on this thread who are casting aspersions on other indigenous faiths.

The ENTIRE foundations of the religions that make up "Christianity" from the (Constantine induced Roman Catholic religion to the Protestant or Pentecostal movement which are offshoots from the Catholic religion) itself are based of off the astrotheological worship of the Sun God (Sol). Astrotheology has to do with the worship of the sun or moon based on the zodiac signs. The Sun was venerated from the ancient civilizations for centuries because it was seen as a giver of life in form of light, and plant growth, etc, and Christianity is a STRONG evidence that the pagan worship of the sun has succeeded right into the 21st century with massive evidence of this sun worship in the bible from the halo (sun disc or solar rays) round the head of Iezeus or Iesus (or Jesus) (who is a personification or allegory of the SUN in the bible, just like the images of other Sun Gods such as Mithra, Horus, Dionesus, Zeus). The worship every Sunday by Christians which is a day historically devoted to the worship of the sun for centuries now, the Easter ceremonies, December 25th Christmas celebration which is equivalent to the rise from the dead of the sun during winter solstice on December 25th, the symbol 12 which represents the zodiac signs and the 12 disciples are an allegory of the 12 zodiac signs, the positions of the ancient churches facing the rising sun and much more.

The original Greek translation of the manuscripts has "SUN God" written in them NOT SON of God, yet while the translators were trying to translate the Greek manuscripts into English just within the last 500 years ago, these translators irresponsibly changed "SUN God" into "SON of God." Fortunately, these FACTS are well known and are in the public domain for over 100 years now and we'll documented by great scholars like Acharya S. in form of videos and books.

Where is the design of the Lekki-Epe International Airport here?

Any structural design that is less than the streamlined and futuristic-looking airports such as the new Airport in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, the Dakar International Airport and more will NOT be tolerated for this airport project in Lagos State. Period.
